If you could take one non-QB off any CFB team in the country and add to Michigan this year...who would it be?
Again in my effort to plant one tree a day during the dog days of OT season... Here's another hypothetical.
One I like much better than the if you could take a player from OSU/MSU someone asks every year. Fuck OSU/MSU.
If you could take one non-QB off any CFB team in the country and add to Michigan this year...who would it be? I say no QB so it's not a million Watson from Clemson posts.
Dude just takes games over
what I'm thinkin.
Seeing him work in a Harbaugh offense would be fantastic.
That is the correct answer
This is the correct answer.
edit: I swear to God I didn't see Baugh So Hard's comment before I posted.
Fournette would threaten to become the first 3,000 yard rusher at Michigan or Alabama. He will threaten 2,000 in the Cameron/Miles "Most Predictable Offense in the NCAA."

Fournette would be downright scary. But my mind cannot even comprehend what Harbaugh would do with someone as versatile as Christian McCaffrey... He and Jabrill running a read option in the red zone would be a sight to see
Lazy, general opinion - whoever the best LT in the country is. Moving Cole to C while actually upgrading at LT would make for a weakness-free OL.
Phil Steele who is a respected analyst, has Kalis listed as the 11th best OG in the 2017 NFL Draft.
No opinion on Kalis, but 11th isn't really that good. Last year, there were only 13 Guards drafted, and the year before, (2015), there were 16.
were hundreds that weren't drafted. If he's the 11th best OG in the country, he's certainly not a weakness. IMO, which is totally ignorant, he seems like a slightly above average guy, which means he's certainly not a weakness, but also not a highly plus player.

Since Fournette has been selected, I'll take Mccaffrey.
Not only is McCaffrey a heck of a back but he is versatile as f*#k
I'm with that pick.
That said, someone like Reuben Foster, Alabama linebacker would help shore up our biggest weak spot. Note: he's the Bama dude with the Auburn tatoo.
It might be our biggest weak spot, but it's also covered up by a very good defensive line and secondary. I would go with an offensive player, because that's where we have less talent overall.
So would be sorely tempted to grab McMilllian, OSU or Fields from Louisville. If all questions were answered at that spot, would have to take Christian or Leonard. Damh, either way, that'd be a ton of yards as a preseason given.
Raekwon McMillian would be a huge upgrade at his position.
And I know the OP said screw OSU/MSU, but the upside of the McMillian pick is that it also simultaneously depletes OSU as well.
But I do agree that if the defense is as good as people say it is, we could likely paper-over LB issues this year. My pick would be either Fournette, McCaffrey, or as others have said, whoever the best left tackle is in the country.
if you can't take a QB, where is a large upgrade on offense possible? It'd have to be RB or LT, right? We have a thouroughly average RB and a relatively unknown entity at LT.

Not any, they've got freshman and walkons. Reggie Ragland would do just fine, though.
But I'm with Magnus. More offensive talent needed. I'll go with the previous suggestion of LT and pick another Bama player: Cam Robinson.
God damn it, +1 and self-downvoted.
So Cam Robinson, Alabama? Zach Banner USC? I don't care.

Damn it I made that post before scrolling down to this one. +1 for Cam Robinson.
I'm not the one who negged you Valiant, but your avatar makes me throw up in my mouth a bit.
I agree on the need for ILB, but would prefer Jarrad Davis from Florida. Not qute as big, but faster and better at defending the inside zone (11 TFL).
Your argument is a good one, but I'll take Davis as insurance. IMO, Foster would be the better choice if the DL wasn't so strong.
Raekwon McMillan or Pat Elflein. Not only would that improve our roster at one of its weaker positions, but it would also hurt OSU.
For sure. Or any talented LB - Doens't really matter.
Kid is explosive and a proven RB. Always nice to have a game breaker.
Runner-up, JuJu Smith-Shuster, USC WR, home-run speed and great size.
I think he does a little better catching out the backfield than Fournette, and screens are a huge part of Harbaugh's offensive package.
2nd would be McCafferey for the same reason. Not sure why, but I question his durability more, even though Dalvin is on the injury report way more often.
Cam Robinson (Alabama) or Roderick Johnson (Florida St).
That's what I was going to say. I'd take Johnson though - too much off-field drama with Robinson.
2nd option is Dan Feeney. A slighlty awkward fit, but I'm sick of seeing our RG get destroyed/block air/pull like he's got a 40% move debuff.
I think if our OL improves significantly, this is a special, special year.
