2007 Mercedes E 350 with only 89K miles for $10,000 (ok, this is five figures, but only by a buck)
Sticking to the rules, here's a 2009 Dodge Charger for $7,222 - relatively low miles 125,000 for a 10 year old car
|08/08/2018 - 12:19pm||When at a fast food…||
When at a fast food restaurant, ask for a slight change to your sandwich (extra pickles, no lettuce, etc.) so they can't give you what's been sitting under the heatlamp for the past hour.
|07/25/2018 - 1:37pm||True: If you're trying to…||
True: If you're trying to save money by cutting the cord, it's not going to happen because Comcast runs up their internet only subscription. But I still urge all to do so, because the cable service they provide is the worst.
|07/25/2018 - 1:35pm||I switched to Playstation…||
I switched to Playstation Vue (which carries BTN) last year and haven't regretted it once. Once you throw in my other streaming services Netflix and Prime, I still end up paying the same as I did for Comcast cable, but I don't have to deal with stunts like this or the cruddy service that Comcast provides.
|06/02/2018 - 8:31pm||I’d say K, Williams, Cal,||
I’d say K, Williams, Cal, Self, Wright, Few. I’d take Beilein over all of ‘em.
|05/06/2018 - 6:09pm||As we already knew||
Once Shea was cleared, it all comes down to the O line how far this team will go. Well, that and the play calling.
|04/27/2018 - 7:24pm||Would have loved this||
Seeing as my UM spring commencement speaker in 1995 was the creator of the Cathy comic strip (a UM alum but perhaps the lamest choice ever), Charles Woodson would basically be Jesus mixed with MLK. But alas I can’t make it.
|04/17/2018 - 12:48pm||Not how I read it||
I think you misread the rule. It has to be called fair catch before the player has caught the ball. You can't catch it at the 5, take a knee at the 10, and have it moved up to the 25. It's basically making kick-offs more like punts, except it moves it up to the 25.
|04/06/2018 - 3:54pm||This is a rather simplistic||
This is a rather simplistic view of recruiting. First of all, we have a top 5 class next year, which correct me if I'm wrong means that the incoming freshmen in our top 5 class were in 7th or 8th grade when we made the 2013 finals. That's not a bump to you?
Second, we made the finals again this year with your "bubcus".
Third, MSU had a few one and dones the last two years (I'm including Bridges even though he came back), and they were hot trash.
I think the basketball program is doing just fine, tyvm.
|04/04/2018 - 10:05am||I see a lot of people have||
I see a lot of people have told you that you're wrong and / or crazy.
I will be another. You don't even have Teske on the two deep, lol. It's one thing to say that the lineup by January "could" look like this, but you said it "should" look like this, and that's placing a lot of faith on freshmen who haven't played a minute of college basketball.
I think the January lineup is more likely to be:
Simpson / Brooks / Dejulius
Poole / Watson / Nunez
Matthews / Iggy
Livers / Johns
Teske / Davis / Castleton
I'd also guess that Castleton (and Nunez) could possibly redshirt if not ready for the college game.
|04/03/2018 - 12:00pm||Yes.||
Seems like a foregone conclusion with Moe. Beilein took him out with Robinson and MAAR for a reason.
|04/03/2018 - 11:59am||I think we'll be good, but||
I think we'll be good, but your two comments about Teske / Moe and Livers / Robinson swaps improving the defense are not necessarily true. Teske helps with rim protection but his feet are slower than Moe's, so therefore he can't get out as quickly on stretch 5s (like he had to last night). Also, Robinson improved greatly on post defense over the course of the year. Wasn't nearly the liability it was at the beginning.
You know how I know these aren't necessarily improvements? Because they weren't made this season.
|04/02/2018 - 1:41pm||Thank you||
When Michigan wins, I now have the stats to pepper into my work and family conversations tomorrow morning.
|04/02/2018 - 1:15pm||Fake news?||
You mean the one post that had three whole pictures from film session and lunch in which you can't even see the whole room? Because in the practice photos you can't even see who's in the huddles. If you have some inside dope, then that's fine, but don't use Twitter as your source.
(Adding: I believe this video was shot at the last practice, and he's there. So get out of here with your crap rumor.)
|04/02/2018 - 1:05pm||3>2||
Let him drive and stay home on the shooters.
(Adding: not sure if Brunson can beat us on his own; in 3 of their 4 losses, he had a huge game. Seems the better bet will be to limit their three point shooting. Only loss of Villanova's when they shot the lights out was against Butler, who shot even more lights out.)
|04/02/2018 - 12:42pm||Agree that we can win this.||
Agree that we can win this. But while defense helps, offense wins championships. Otherwise, we'd be getting set to watch Virginia v. Villanova.
|04/02/2018 - 12:39pm||Probably the same as Kenpom's||
Probably the same as Kenpom's record.
|04/02/2018 - 12:33pm||No matter what happens...||
Wagner (probably leaping over the announcers table) and Poole are going to feature in One Shining Moment. But I'd really like us to win this thing. Go Blue!
|04/02/2018 - 11:37am||Not surprised||
After the performance Villanova put in on a fellow one seed, and our offense going mostly AWOL for 4 of 5 games, I'm not surprised those who get paid to prognosticate would go with them. That's okay because the end result doesn't rely on what they think.
|03/29/2018 - 12:22pm||Just read the answers||
They're much better than the post itself.
|03/29/2018 - 12:17pm||All but one||
I would root for any Big Ten team except MSU. For OSU I wouldn't give a shit, because it's basketball not football, but I wouldn't actively root for the other team like I would for MSU.
|03/29/2018 - 10:22am||Brooklyn sports bar||
A class of 2011 alum recently opened a sports bar in Brooklyn and is hosting a Michigan fans viewing party. I haven’t been there so can’t vouch but there’s a Facebook event post. https://www.facebook.com/events/180713402652307/?ti=icl
|03/28/2018 - 5:08pm||Double post||

|03/28/2018 - 4:10pm||Also||
Also: why is it only Wednesday damn it? This week is soooo loooong.
|03/28/2018 - 3:55pm||not overlooking Saturday||
While I am not overlooking Saturday's game (honest), I am giddy at the thought of watching Simpson guard Brunson or Graham on Monday night.
|03/28/2018 - 1:08pm||Medcalf||
Year after year, Myron Medcalf is the worst ESPN writer / prognosticator come March. It's true he sets himself up by penning his notoriously awful "Predictions sure to go wrong" features, but even when it's not pure clowning, it's real crap content. Can't understand how he's kept a job after two years of constant layoffs at the worldwide leader.
|03/26/2018 - 10:02am||It's Blue in there...||
After a recent visit to the doctor, my toddler son has been interested in blood, regularly pointing to his body and asking me "Is it red in there?"
Last week instead of my usual "yes" answer, I jokingly said in response, "Heck no boy, we bleed Maize and Blue."
So now my son is asking "Daddy, is it blue in there?"
Damn straight it's blue in there.
|03/26/2018 - 7:23am||Narrative||
The media is setting up a David vs Goliath storyline to push the Loyola Cinderella story to the masses, and so we need to play our part and be the Goliath.
It’s all a bunch of bs.
|03/25/2018 - 10:58am||Duke and Villanova||
Because it gives me a shot to win my pool if Michigan wins it all.
|03/23/2018 - 3:49pm||We beat FSU in the 1997 NIT||
We beat FSU in the 1997 NIT championship game. I was there in Madison Square Garden for the win. Steve Fisher was still coach.
|03/23/2018 - 10:27am||They gave up 90 points to||
They gave up 90 points to Syracuse? Granted, it was a double overtime game, but that suggests a porous defense to me given what we just saw Syracuse look like against Sparty.
|03/21/2018 - 7:10pm||If you’re saying play small||
If you’re saying play small ball without Moe or Teske at the 5, that’s a recipe for being down 18-0 in first 4 minutes on a barrage of dunks, alley oops and post ups.
|03/21/2018 - 11:30am||Wasssssuuuuup?||
|03/20/2018 - 12:49pm||Spartyfreude||
I love MGoPodcast and was looking forward to the Spartyfreude. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of listening to the Valenti rant from yesterday before this, so I had just bathed in a lake of Sparty tears. Don't want to link because it's Valenti, but it's easily found via the Google.

|03/18/2018 - 1:15am||Bad calls against both teams||
Hopefully in Sweet 16 we get an upgrade on both refs and TV announcers because we got dregs in these first two rounds.

I actually had UVA going down to Cincinnati and us beating Cinci in Final Four. Feeling pretty good about that.
|03/15/2018 - 4:20pm||Wouldn't have been too hard to do a version of this guy||
I know we're proud of being mascot-less, but I'd much rather have this than a pasty white guy...
|03/07/2018 - 2:17pm||My odds = Wide open||
If you use Kenpom as a metric, the field is wide open this year. Of the past 10 champions, all but three have finished with top 12 offenses and top 12 defenses. The only exceptions are both UConn wins (39/10 in 2014; 19/15 in 2011) and North Carolina in 2009 (when they had the number one offense, but only 18th best defense).
If you look at Kenpom, there are only two teams that currently fit this: Duke and Sparty. Since I'm uncomfortable saying those two are the favorites this year, I will instead say that, THIS RACE IS WIDE OPEN, BABY...
|03/07/2018 - 1:59pm||Purdue||
Without commenting on our odds, I actually like Purdue in the tourney more than Sparty. We were able to counter Purdue's Haas + 4 shooters offense only on the third try. Teams who haven't faced it and only have between 1 and 6 days to prepare for it will have a difficult time. Sparty seems to just be a mess right now, not playing as a team, and I don't trust Izzo to right the ship.
|03/03/2018 - 6:52pm||You can't be serious with that weak question||
At least you have the correct (and only) answer.
|03/01/2018 - 8:44pm||Big Cliches||
I felt like if the promos weren’t touting New Yawk-isms by Mr NYC himself Michael Rapaport, we were seeing how “Big 10 Country” was a rugged land of pick up trucks, timber, and mustaches. Yee-haw.
Big 10: please pick one region to know nothing about. Thanks.
|03/01/2018 - 8:32pm||Well, yeah||
It is the conference network after all so why wouldn’t the guy who wanted the tournament in NYC expect the network to toe the party line? It’s not a conspiracy or anything.
|02/26/2018 - 2:35pm||Delaney has put us in the||
Delaney has put us in the company of such March heavyweights as the Atlantic Sun, Big South, MAAC, Ohio Valley, and Southern conferences who all have their tourneys this weekend.
On the plus side, Wichita State (Missouri Valley) and Gonzaga (West Coast) have done decent in recent years, and their conferences also play this weekend.
|02/26/2018 - 1:09pm||Agreed, but depends which 1||
Agreed, but depends which 1 or 2 seed. At least one, maybe two, of this year's #1 seeds would be a 2 or lower in more competitive years.
I know I'd rather play Kansas somewhere in the west than Duke or North Carolina somewhere in the southeast.
|02/26/2018 - 12:57pm||51 in 15 Minutes||
That GIF is absolutely perfect. Not only shows JP loosening up in the corner (alone!), but it's the dawn of the coming doom, the moment before the team proceeded to SCORE 51 POINTS IN 15 MINUTES. I like typing that in all caps, because holy mother of god they brought the hammer down. Love it.
|02/24/2018 - 4:37pm||51 in 15||
We had 3 points after 5 minutes. THE TEAM SCORED 51 POINTS IN 15 MINUTES. Oh my...
|02/23/2018 - 1:33pm||Fair enough||
Good points. That's why I was just saying "suspicious", not declaring it as truth.
|02/23/2018 - 1:03pm||Anyone else?||
Is anyone else a little suspicious that Jim forced his friend out in a weirdly weak and passive aggressive way? I mean rather than just fire Drevno outright, Jim hired a former Big 10 o-line coach as an analyst, and then brought in a former Power Five head coach as a new WR coach? (Watch out Pep...) If my boss pulled this shit with me, and then sat back and waited for me to get the picture, rather than just level with me up front, I would be mad as hell.
That said, a change was needed, so I'm not arguing with the end result.
|02/23/2018 - 12:48pm||No, it's how it should work||
There's a difference between unsourced rumors on message boards, and sourced reporting, which is what Justice said he had. Which is why you have to acknowledge when someone breaks news. Not necessarily because he was first with it, but because if his source turns out to bullshit, the reporter can be held accountable.
