Kind of disagree on pt. 2 here.. Feel like Gary being out last two weeks is clouding your thinking, he's been dominant when he's been on the field. Plus he continues to suffer from all the great players around him getting to the QB/making the play before he's able to get there. And with Bush, I think his size is going to lower his upside in the draft regardless of whether he goes this year or next. I don't think he'll have much more to prove in his senior year that'd bump him up on draft boards that he hasn't already proven in his soph/jr year.

LOL Poole with the ski goggles.

08/24/2018 - 11:06pm Right on the first part, but…

Right on the first part, but on that second part that just isn't right... His actions (or lack thereof) have had horrible implications on real world outcomes. He's got a ton a power as he's responsible for every member of his football team, player & coach, and he's a horrible leader and shining example of what young men aught to try NOT to be when they grow up. It's sad really.

08/22/2018 - 10:58pm Just a bold-faced lie. And…

Just a bold-faced lie. And from Shelley's text messages with Courtney that seems impossible. That's a pretty big slap in the face to his own wife and the abused Courtney Smith.

08/22/2018 - 10:44pm I'm not really sure what…

I'm not really sure what else could come out. I don't think McMurphy has anything else left in the chamber. The amount of horrible things that did come out against Zach Smith were there and I don't think there's going to be anything groundbreaking to come out. OSU will suffer the near-term reputation hit but unless a future scandal occurs this will become old news after this season.

Yeah it's pretty obvious the impact the lighting/flexing/angle has on these "after" pics.. Don't get me wrong Khaleke and Bush definitely look like they've added some significant muscle, but they're barely flexing in their "before" pic. And Gary/Ruiz looks like they've moderately done a little distribution of lose fat/gain muscle.

08/12/2018 - 9:06pm Yeah if Teske develops a…

Yeah if Teske develops a 3ball that opponents have to worry about, that'll really open up the P&R game this season. And I kept noticing him defending and altering shots on D throughout that scrimmage.

Very much appreciate the post. Interesting that he takes an extra step in describing McCaffrey at QB. Gives a quick phrase for Milton (throws heaters), Shea (mobile), Peters (reads defenses good), but mentions Dylan's "also improving a heck of a lot". I definitely think there's value to Peters' s experience in-game, but it really sounds like McCaffrey's making some serious strides

08/10/2018 - 11:12pm That defense that year was…

I do believe in that phrase. That defense that year was absolutely championship worthy... but you need a semi-capable OL/QB to complement that D

Are they leather bound books?

08/09/2018 - 9:46pm I feel like holding calls…

I feel like holding calls are generally 25% the actual holding and 75% how the one being held sells it. And Don Brown doesn't coach his teams to sell a hold.. he coaches them to go all out 100% and get to the guy with the ball. Doesn't work well for getting holding calls, but that's an unfortunate part of the aggression our D plays with

08/06/2018 - 9:58pm I think Shea is the obvious…

I think Shea is the obvious choice.. but I think Higdon is hugely important for this team. We have no RB on our team that runs as hard and as tough as he does (that we’ve seen yet at least). I think our running game could take a hit if he went down.

08/06/2018 - 9:49pm Gary is a fairly known…

Gary is a fairly known commodity, but losing him this year would be a huge blow to how elite out DL could be. We don’t have an SDE on our roster who could nearly make the same impact as him which will benefit the other 2-3 guys on our line

Hey look! We have an Edit button now! Mgoblog 3.0 really coming together.

He also landed the best WR haul in memory at that position just a year ago so I'm not too concerned.. not to mention he's got this transfer along with Amhir Mitchell's, and Brad Hawkins is now on defense. And Hoke did a horrible job recruiting the position too, leaving the cupboard quite empty when he arrived.

I'm not saying you're wrong... but there are some damn good coaches. Zordich has done an AMAZING job with our corners, and Don Brown is pretty unreal. No doubt Madison has done wonders with our DL, but if he's #1... there are a few close 2nds out there too.

I wouldn't mind seeing the helmet colors inverted for one game.

Ah, you beat me to Vincent Smith. Dude was 5'6" but was the best blocking RB we've had since...? And those double pistols before every 3rd down always got be jazzed up.

07/26/2018 - 4:42pm Jordan Morgan is a GREAT one…

Jordan Morgan is a GREAT one. So many NBA draft picks on the teams he played for, but he came up so huge in so many games. Played way taller than 6'8" on defense and was instrumental in some of the best Beilein offenses off the pick and roll.

Hoping for Josh Uche. Lot of scary 3rd downs for opposing QBs against our DL, Devin Bush.. Adding a speedy, big linebacker rushing the QB too will be much fun.

One of my buddies played him in beer pong at a house party and acted like he had no idea who he was and it really got under his skin.

05/09/2018 - 2:36pm Might not have been a dead

Might not have been a dead season if we had better quarterback play. MSU/OSU are easy W's with better QB play. I'd sacrifice a couple reps for two freshmen with 2-4 years ahead of them for those wins.

05/09/2018 - 10:55am I'm more surprised by Peters

I'm more surprised by Peters being 17 more pounds than Shea. Shea looks like a very solidly built individual wheras Peters was rail thin last year.

05/09/2018 - 10:21am What's the worst that

What's the worst that could've happened? I'd have taken any extra QB we could get last year, especially one who was with Harbaugh for 2 years.

Clicked on "Ekpe Udoh is transfering". Brian simply says he's gone a "NIT dreams = Crushed". My how the timates have changed... God bless John Beilein.

04/26/2018 - 3:48pm He was gifted the regular

He was gifted the regular season this year with that schedule. And it showed in the B1G tourney and the big dance. The game has passed him by and he hasn't kept up regardless of how many McDonalds All-Americans he signs.

04/22/2018 - 5:11pm Boy, don't expect to learn

Boy, don't expect to learn much from watching an interview with Pep. Everyone's taking equal reps. Everyone can make all the throws. Guy doesn't give a shred of useful info. Not complaining, just impressed.

I'll take another Burke.

If he's 8 I'm very impressed he somehow joined the blog from the womb.

04/17/2018 - 11:22am I think he recruits very

I think he recruits very well, but let's make it clear that we NEVER beat the "blue blood" programs for a star (and given our player development, I'm perfectly OK going for 3-4 year players). And in basketball where 1 player can make a huge difference, it's impressive we've racked up so many wins without the 1-and-done's. While other teams have fallen flat on their face with their 5 stars and McDonald's All Americans (Looking at you, Izzo).

04/16/2018 - 9:53pm Greasy, but messy... SEC

Greasy, but messy... SEC seems to have a lot of coaches effective at avoiding the messy part. No doubt he'll find his fit somewhere though.

04/16/2018 - 9:50pm I'm only 24 but am pretty

I'm only 24 but am pretty confident Beilein is and will be my favorite Michigan coach of any sport in my lifetime. I love Harbaugh but I can't think of any coach who's done more with less hyped recruits than Beilein. And most importantly, he shows such charisma and upstanding values that are so rare in today's college sports.
