Recent history has shown there is no better indicator of RB success than being a Rutger decommit.

12/12/2018 - 2:14pm Are you really taking the…

Are you really taking the position that "don't commit domestic violence" is a political issue?

12/12/2018 - 2:12pm If charges are true, good…

If charges are true, good riddance.

12/12/2018 - 1:30pm Well, that probably kinda…

Well, that probably kinda explains why he wasn't getting snaps in garbage time at the end of the year.

12/11/2018 - 7:38pm I don't work in PI much, and…

I don't work in PI much, and not at all in workers comp or OSHA compliance, but my number one suggestion here (and obligatory this isn't legal advice or forming an attorney client relationship): see every doctor, do every treatment, and get as much medical care as possible.  Not only will this make your wife's life better (because treatment), but it will also increase recoverable damages which are all tied to medical bills incurred.  I've had way too many clients try to tough it out or downplay their injuries, only to be worse off both physically and financially as a result.  Do every kind of treatment a doctor would recommend, and document everything (both in writing and photographs), it will greatly be to your benefit.   Also, go find a lawyer who specializes in this, don't rely on a college football message board, no matter how unusually full of lawyers it might be.

12/11/2018 - 7:29pm Sounds similar to the old…

Sounds similar to the old barnstorming baseball leagues back in the 20s.  Interesting idea, and a good way to drum up interest in the sport, though it could be hard to build a real team or league loyalty.  But as an attraction, would definitely be interested in going to see if they're in my town.

12/10/2018 - 3:06pm How does that work exactly? …

How does that work exactly?  Like, the number determines eligibility not where on the field they are?  If we line up JBB in the outside receiver slot, or Runyan at running back, could they not catch a pass?  I get you can't declare a like, in line OL eligible but how exactly does eligibility work?

12/10/2018 - 12:51pm Josh Allen is really really…

Josh Allen is really really good, I have no disagreement with him as first team even ahead of Bush.  Devin White and Burr-Kirven are both excellent players but I think Bush is better, homerism aside.

12/06/2018 - 8:36pm Assuming Mattison retired,…

Assuming Mattison retired, yes.  He was a good recruiter and families love him, and the one area he seemed competent coaching was D Line.  I wouldn't want him in a DC role (again, assuming Brown retired) but as a position coach, I think he could work.

12/06/2018 - 5:32pm Would it be extremely…

Would it be extremely satisfying and pleasing? Yes.  Would it be as satisfying and pleasing? No, because I think Michigan basketball has firmly established itself as an elite program with or without a title, whereas football still needs a playoff trip or three at least, and honestly a title, to really secure it's perception as an elite program.

12/06/2018 - 12:45pm Eliminating the bye week is…

Eliminating the bye week is a bad idea.  Players need time to heal and recover, and those bye weeks can be valuable.  Plus it gives coaches some time to make halftime adjustments.  I'd rather start everything a week earlier or play one last crappy OOC game than dump the bye.

12/05/2018 - 12:48pm So...is Oakland still in…

So...is Oakland still in play?

12/04/2018 - 7:29pm You do realize they can't…

You do realize they can't schedule unilaterally, right?  I'm sure UCF would have loved to play some big time P5 teams, but they need those teams to accept games against them.  Same problem Loyola this year, and Gonzaga for many years, had in basketball - good teams won't play them because the upside is very low.  It's easy to say "just schedule better teams" but it's a lot easier said than done.

12/04/2018 - 1:14pm I mean, it can't help it. …

I mean, it can't help it.  Players committed to the guy who's won a billion games and pumps out pros. He's not there any more, so they may be more inclined to look around some.

11/30/2018 - 9:22pm Shocked they made the move,…

Shocked they made the move, regardless of it being the right thing to do.

11/30/2018 - 3:25pm You're about 12 posts too…

You're about 12 posts too late.

11/30/2018 - 1:45pm I would print an extra…

I would print an extra picture for safekeeping (I'm assuming you have the film/file still), then mail one to Beilein with a letter basically repeating your above post, along with a SASE to send it back to you.  You can likely find the MBB or AD office address on the Michigan site somewhere.  I'm willing to bet he'll happily sign it and return to you.

11/30/2018 - 1:15pm I love the conclusion, that…

I love the conclusion, that we're awesome, but man a lot of the analysis along the way to get there is real butt.  "Underwhelming recruiting class", 4 star Iggy, being surprised that Simpson can defend, calling Matthews a guard, etc.  I like the outcome and The Ringer generally but this feels like a real slapdash, poorly written piece.

11/29/2018 - 7:36pm If it's a player who's left…

If it's a player who's left the school or otherwise no longer associated, it's no harm no foul.  If it's a current player, the NCAA will come calling ASAP; selling team issue stuff is basically what got Tressel.

11/29/2018 - 1:54pm Generally speaking, rich…

Generally speaking, rich dudes who want to see their team win.

11/29/2018 - 12:33pm That was a hell of a fun…

That was a hell of a fun game.  Needed that after this shitty weekend.

11/27/2018 - 7:47pm If their quarterback hadn't…

If their quarterback hadn't gotten his leg destroyed they probably would have.  But with him out for the season, I think committee didn't want to put themselves in a position where they'd almost be forced to take a broken UCF.

11/27/2018 - 2:04pm After deep contemplation and…

After deep contemplation and serious consideration, I've decided I would really enjoy Michigan winning this game.

11/27/2018 - 12:32pm Virtually no interest.  I'll…

Virtually no interest.  I'll check the score a couple times during the game probably, but definitely not watching.

Ironically, there's a big ad in the middle of your post (on desktop browsing at least).

11/26/2018 - 12:52pm He'll be a killer interior…

He'll be a killer interior lineman in the NFL.  Good luck Rashan, you busted your ass for Michigan for years, now get that money.

11/21/2018 - 1:53pm @MGoWill, can we sticky or…

@MGoWill, can we sticky or backdate this thread (like y'all do to keep the game snowflakes on top through Sunday) so we can keep everyone's I HAVE AN IDEA YOU MUST ALL READ hot takes (oh god there have been so many and it's only Wednesday) quarantined here more easily?

11/20/2018 - 7:23pm Man, the Game cannot come…

Man, the Game cannot come fast enough.   Or failing that, the UFRs and FFFFs so we have some actual football analysis to go with.

And in answer to the OP question, I'd rather be up by 35 with OSU lining up for a sad field goal.

11/20/2018 - 2:02pm I've seen both terms used. …

I've seen both terms used.  I think fluff is used more for general lack of substance article and puff is use more for an article with a particularly positive spin (i.e. to puff up a person, or using puffery in the marketing sense.  But I've generally used them interchangeably (though I admit that may not be technically correct).

11/20/2018 - 1:36pm I default to assuming no,…

I default to assuming no, not because of Delaney conspiracy but because the refs seem to have built up a baseline antagony towards Harbaugh (and also because BPONE).  But if Delaney is manipulating things, he should manipulate them in Michigan's favor.  There's almost no way Ohio State gets into the playoff if they win the Big 10 - they're not going to jump Oklahoma or Washington State if either of them win out, and there's at least a chance that an SEC-title losing Georgia stays ahead of them if Oklahoma or Wazzou derps a game away.  The CFP committee has shown that they think nothing of Ohio State's season based on their rankings to date.  Michigan is objectively the Big 10's best chance of a playoff team, and while I believe Delaney is a clown who has a weird disdain for Michigan, we all know he REALLY likes money and TV eyeballs, and absolutely wants a Big 10 team in the playoff.

EMU 2-25 from the field, 0-7 on free throws.  This is...ugh.  Probably worse than the Duke beatdown.

11/19/2018 - 7:15pm I went through this same…

I went through this same thing two years ago, looking for Christmas gifts.  The on field ones aren't publicly available as far as I can tell, but I found some that were a big hit.  They're called the Nike Stadium gloves - I got them from Nike.com but don't see them there now.

11/19/2018 - 5:17pm Having him certainly can't…

Having him certainly can't hurt.  You often hear about players who get traded or come over as free agents giving inside tips on plays and calls; I'd have to imagine a coach would have even more information to share.

11/15/2018 - 8:36pm I'm expecting to get an OSU…

I'm expecting to get an OSU UFR this year.  Because I'm expecting it to be very fun for Brian to write.

11/15/2018 - 6:00pm I don't understand the…

I don't understand the scoring for cross-country.  Is that like, total minutes spent running?  What do those numbers mean?

11/15/2018 - 2:30pm Agree.  I don't think this…

Agree.  I don't think this offense is challenged, it's just very different from your classic Beilein offense.  The team as a whole is playing much lower variance basketball, with a stifling defense (that can keep them in games when the shots aren't falling) and a more aggressive, driving offense that is not as susceptible to the "oops, we're shooting 19%, guess we lose" nights that the 5 out perimeter teams can have (though with less ability to bomb teams from 3 into oblivion).  And when you have a lot of talent and athleticism, low-variance basketball is good, since it limits the ability of lesser teams to get hot and beat you.   I'm expecting a Big 10 title, and a good to very good tournament seed; predicting a specific team to make the final four in November is just too speculative.  That said, with this defense,  they can hang with and beat anyone in the country, and if we take down UNC, they very well might have a NCAA bid effectively sewn up before the conference seasons starts.

11/14/2018 - 8:45pm Well that was an absolute…

Well that was an absolute hamblasting.  This team's defense is a terror, and going to win them a lot of games.

11/13/2018 - 8:42pm Everyone in the top 10 won. …

Everyone in the top 10 won.  Hard to justify moving OSU up, even if they did have the "best" win in that group.

11/12/2018 - 5:55pm Do you know if he traveled…

Do you know if he traveled to Rutgers?  I certainly get him not playing most of the season/most games, as there's 4 very good RBs in front of him, but he was noticeably absent during the bench emptying portion of the game saturday.

11/12/2018 - 3:27pm I was surprised not to see…

I was surprised not to see him this game, since it seems like every other RB on the travel squad got a carry in the 4th quarter.  Wonder if he's hurt or something.

11/09/2018 - 6:12pm Hey man, Will Hart needs…

Hey man, Will Hart needs some scrimmage time too.  And we want to pad those total punt yardage numbers.

11/09/2018 - 6:08pm It won't be played out until…

It won't be played out until we beat OSU and MSU.

11/09/2018 - 6:07pm Is changing their name to…

Is changing their name to try and get an old rich dude to donate to the school in his will, and then said old dude not giving them a dime, the most Rutger thing possible?

11/09/2018 - 6:04pm You know, I was going to…

You know, I was going to give the benefit of the doubt and assume it was an abbreviation for "probable", that OP was just adapting some stats notations for this.  But...yeah, that's likely overly generous.

11/09/2018 - 3:06pm I wonder (assume?) if this…

I wonder (assume?) if this is the first ever in season cyan-to-dangerman transition?

Your scenario is plausible.  I would rather, however, beat OSU and not have to worry about it.
