Tathan. Always.
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:11 PM ^
This one seems odd, unless it’s related to him possibly being homesick. Surely he expected to have to compete for the starting spot, which likely meant waiting a couple years (once he skipped his senior year in HS).
That being said…Sorry, not sorry. Couldn’t happen to a better bunch of guys. They deserve to face a little adversity at least once every couple decades.
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:31 PM ^
He went to OSU for the golden pants, so he's gone. Figures he may never get one.
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:46 PM ^
Never understood the use of the gold pants. Do the guys that possess them wear them for practice, when they go to parties, Halloween, etc? Seems like a stupid award gift.
December 3rd, 2021 at 8:04 PM ^
Not sure if serious? If so, they’re like key chain size trinkets. Not actual pants.
December 3rd, 2021 at 8:47 PM ^
The fact we wore blue pants is what freaked them out.
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:12 PM ^
My God, that mullet is glorious. Put him in an ‘86 Camaro with t-tops and panties will be dropping left and right
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:37 PM ^
And that's why he's headed back to Texas.
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:43 PM ^
Wait a second, Doc. You made a time machine…..out of an 86 Camaro??!!
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:13 PM ^
Stroud and McCord and the new guy Brown out of Utah for next year. As long as McCord doesn’t bolt they should be fine the next few years. I’d rather them keep the second and third guy so it’s less enticing for Dante Moore.
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:13 PM ^
Is that the kid with the million dollar mullet?
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:14 PM ^
At first blush, this is great and funny because it hurts OSU.
But it also eases the competition a bit for Dante Moore to get very early playing time at OSU, and that's not so good.
But hey, I'll take it.
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:35 PM ^
Yep, that's why there's no sense in forecasting this stuff. It sounds like OSU knew this was happening which is why they just got the commitment from that high 4-star that was committed to USC. I think the more telling one is if McCord stays or leaves. If he leaves, then that will leave them a lot thinner next year
The days of any team stacking skilled position player - like just 3 or 4 years ago - is long gone especially with the new transfer rules saying that you don't have to sit out a year with your 1st transfer. The portal has now become recruiting, part 2. Welcome to college football, 2021 version
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:14 PM ^
I have to imagine Ewers figures a year on campus getting college coaching and facilities was a better upside than another year in HS. He could see if he’d be the starter, and if not he will have 4 years of eligibility and a year of being in a college system
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:15 PM ^
Sign him up! Make him the next after the next great UM Quarterback!
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:40 PM ^
Texas or especially Texas A&M. Reading about him on Eleven Warriors earlier in the year, it sounded like Mullet was really home sick and supposedly Jimbo was in his ear which sounds strange as I always thought that was a violation....but who knows with today's rules?
December 3rd, 2021 at 8:17 PM ^
“That is NOT a violation!” - (probably) Steve Sarkisian in regard to doing the same thing with Xavier Worthy……
(It is a violation)
December 3rd, 2021 at 8:57 PM ^
The stuff about Texas A&M and Jimbo in Mullet's ear during the season originated on a Texas Longhorn board. They hate Jimbo with a passion and basically it sounds like it is going to come down to Texas and Texas A&M for Ewers. This could get interesting and comical.
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:17 PM ^
Couldn't happen to a better program!
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:18 PM ^
Not mullet man, Quinn Exotic!!! That dude was a walking joke target regardless of how he performed on the field. Oh well, hope he joins a team named the Tigers, because then the jokes just write themselves.
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:26 PM ^
Coached by Kelly? that would be even better.
December 3rd, 2021 at 8:13 PM ^
Think of the look a like contest submissions we would've got for this guy.
Joe Dirt?
The redhead's older brother from Stranger Things?
December 3rd, 2021 at 8:37 PM ^
Keefe from The Righteous Gemstones
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:18 PM ^
Don't blame him one bit.
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:21 PM ^
This probably increases osus chances with Dante. That said, super happy about this. This dude is going to be good. Glad osu lost him.
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:22 PM ^
How is Oklahoma State not an option? Imagine what could happen if you combined those two mullets.
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:33 PM ^
This post deserves WAY more upvotes.
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:41 PM ^
I honestly feel like I would be embarrassed as a fan if there was a guy sporting a mullet on our team. It’ll probably happen. I’ll still be embarrassed by it. The sheer redneckery of it all.
December 3rd, 2021 at 9:18 PM ^
fear the mullet...80s redo. my teenage daughters are both horrified that all the 'cute' guys in high school are all growing their hair out. They will be forever traumatized by their parents wedding pictures and dad's hair band look in a tux. pray the 80s return.... everyone was interested in having fun and politics was largely just another professional sport to watch....not the sick obsession it has become. and of course UM football was beginning a decade and a half of dominating the game and osu was still suffering a prolonged post woody hangover. "redneckery"...love it. +1 to u sir.

Not sure you can, sort of like 2 North ends of a magnet.

We covered this in advanced physics courses at U of M. Turns out that exceeding critical mullet density (rho_m*) creates a configuration with effects similar to the event horizon of a black hole.
There were Phys Rev Letters discussing this in the 80's and warning against Chuck Norris guest starring on MacGyver.
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:23 PM ^
How can he take that perfect Ohio State Mullet away?
Oklahoma State University, another OSU?
Maybe they have been living too large down there and have locker issues? They sure did seem to quit a bit last Saturday.
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:30 PM ^
I'm not surprised. He's not going to wait behind Stroud and they also had another top QB in that class. McCord was the one who saw playing time this year as the backup and I assume that wasn't the original plan.
Anyway, he'll wind up somewhere in the Texas is my guess. Good on him getting $1M from Columbus companies while at it
December 3rd, 2021 at 8:07 PM ^
I looked it up and he was getting the $1.4 million money from a New Jersey based company called GT Sports Marketing which has no tie in with anything Columbus or OSU
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:33 PM ^
Noooooooo!!
Not the mullet guy!!!
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:35 PM ^
He took the $1M and ran…
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:38 PM ^
Wonder if Day is nfl bound. Go Texas and fix that offense Ewers.
December 3rd, 2021 at 8:28 PM ^
My thought as well, my theory is that’s the reason Fickell did not go to Notre Dame and knows that Day will be moving on and he is next up at OSU.
December 3rd, 2021 at 8:52 PM ^
Would osu rehire him as coach and would he want it after they passed on him before?
December 3rd, 2021 at 9:04 PM ^
Luke Fickell in 2011 was not ready to be a HC and everyone knew it, if they had gone 10-2 with a win over Michigan then they might’ve kept him otherwise he was doomed. Luke Fickell in 2018 arguably was not ready either, and promoting from within with a top assists is almost always the best way to go when dealing with a retiring winning coach.
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:38 PM ^
I wonder if his NIL deal was contingent on staying at OSU and if it wasn’t I bet we see these kinds of contract stipulations going forward.
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:41 PM ^
This is funny. And I enjoy OSU taking a hit. And it's particularly amusing with all the attention Ewers got with the NIL thing.
But in actual practical terms the issue is that OSU is loaded at the QB position, and there's no way they'll keep that many top guys on the roster; it's just a question of who leaves.
With Stroud looking elite, there's already a guy in the way for another year, and more stars coming in behind him... he's a guy that goes.
I mean, Michigan takes a QB every year, knowing that some will transfer.
December 3rd, 2021 at 8:22 PM ^
Yep, we all better get used to it. Everybody will be affected by it The days of stacking talent is long gone. There are going to be some really talented players hitting the Portal every year. It will be like Recruiting - phase 2
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:45 PM ^
Stay classy OSU fans....the ink is barely dry on that transfer and they can't get him out of town soon enough....
December 3rd, 2021 at 7:49 PM ^
What was he expecting this season? He skipped his senior year and came into the program in August and expected to play? Whoopty doo. Wish he would’ve stayed, but all of this is his fault for worrying about the money and not being part of a team. Heard he’s A&M bound.
December 3rd, 2021 at 10:20 PM ^
I read a lot of Texas boards and I think you are correct, he's Jimbo and Texas A&M bound but the issue is will Jimbo guarantee him starting 8 games next year so Mullet can qualify for the $1.4 million which is one of the requirements
December 4th, 2021 at 6:42 AM ^
...or find him another NIL.deal.to cover the $1.4
