rather a lack of respect for…

rather a lack of respect for others is slowly eroding free speech. making fun of his opinion or stance is disrespecting another human and their opinion. if one wishes to engage in actual dialogue that is wonderful, that is american. shouting him down or belittling his position without thoughtful input is for the weak. I dont like weak.

this is the modern narrative…

this is the modern narrative in this country. ex if you are a reproductive rights proponent, no matter why or in what manner you support it, you hate children. if you claim not to be sexist, you are sexist. if you claim not to be racist, you are racist. engaging those who attack you is an admission of guilt. freedom of speech, a general presumption of innocence rooted in the ideals behind our criminal justice system--dying American traditions. good times.

damn you and your logic. all…

damn you and your logic. all mistakes have to be made again. ahh to be human. just sit back, watch it happen, and enjoy everyone being pissed off about it in 10 yrs, then again in 30 yrs, etc.

So much discussion of a…

So much discussion of a product likely targeting a specific segment of the population. Hard to see how hiring a non-black host if your target audience is black male sports fans would help you. I think you hire your hosts based on the prospective you want the show to project. The hope being that you forge a unique target audience that you can use to attract advertisers that also want to target your audience demographics. As a listener, if the show is not for you, move on to other shows that are targeted more to your demographic profile. Capitalism. I would hope an employer that is targeting a specific demographic for their product would be allowed to hire employees to reach said goal.

Maybe his aggressiveness…

Maybe his aggressiveness/bigger than life image is exactly what attracted her to him. Dialing it down might not be welcome.

If you want to pay me…

If you want to pay me 12million a year and occasionally bump into me and yell in my face. Im your man. I probably wont even club you in the back of the head with a 2x4 later for that kind of money. Boys will be boys

Howard was hired to…

Howard was hired to represent the university, lead young men to make the most of their lives, and maintain a nationally competitive basketball program. He has embarrassed the university, by example shown his players that taking swings at those with which you disagree is acceptable behavior, and to always throw anyone you can under the bus to preserve yourself. Oh yea, and the complete destruction of the basketball program. If clown is not your favorite name for someone who failed spectacularly while making millions, then pick another that makes you happy. If Clown works for some, so be it.

Captain of the ship sitting…

Captain of the ship sitting solidly on the ocean floor. I would wager the season was on the edge of a knife before the season started due to coaching deficiencies, and then any chance of the players overcoming this fell apart leading to what we see today. I feel badly for the players....not for the coach.

since minters defense just…

since minters defense just won a national title I would say a condition of Harbaugh getting hired would be having to bring minter along with him. package deal or no deal? /s, but not really

Agree 100% on making them…

Agree 100% on making them employees. Ive been on this soapbox for probably a decade. Make them employees, under contract, with non-compete agreements to prevent unlimited transferring. Throw in free tuition as a benefit and call it a day--they can be students as well if they choose. Many universities do that for FTEs anyway

Did the university take away his end of game planning ability as well?

Yes

if we were getting useful…

if we were getting useful Intel from the sign stealing operation....maybe we wouldnt have had any close games. maybe we could have blown the doors off the whole schedule if stalions had not been caught. thankfully we were able to win with likely much less intel available than any of our opponents as their intel programs remained intact...but it might have prevented us from winning those games in blowout fashion.

NCAA loves michigan…

NCAA loves michigan. Michigan is the biggest of the football cash cows. When your 3 largest viewership games in a season feature the same team...you have to love them. As with everything in life....in the end all that matters is money. Harbaugh is a thorn in their side because he wants them to give up some of the money they are making off the UM cash cow to pay players thus allowing less money to pay NCAA staff....again all that matters is money. Greed conquers all.

instead of beating…

instead of beating themselves, they should have been playing football. distraction is a bitch.

On paper, alabama has the…

On paper, alabama has the same mix of elite athletes as osu....yet 3 years in a row it hasnt yielded results. TCU ripped up and down the field against us last year with lesser athletes. Star gazing.

Michigan is favored because…

Michigan is favored because when you take emotions and fandom out of the equation, computer predictions, michigan has a more consistent body of work. M has done nothing on offense as it has not been needed. I dont think Alabama has the ability to contain a healthy JJ. So much focus on Bamas qb, but he would be riding the pine if on Michigans roster. Bama offensive backfield would be riding the pine backing up Corum. Alabama players are not giants, but rather they want to be giant killers. The Wolverines ARE the giants.

There are enough coaching …

There are enough coaching 'experts'  predicting Michigan's downfall that victory is becoming a near certainty.

2. Michigan

1. Oregon

Michigan is the most solid team, no weakness, the safest bet to win it all. But Oregon has it, not sure what it is, but when I watch them play they scare me. Loss was early, stumble here and there, but i fear that only Oregon can stop Oregon's offense.

Edit: it scares me even more that a number of others feel the same way....

I live and work in the lion…

I live and work in the lion's den and I can tell you for certainty most osu fans with any football knowledge know it's going to take M laying an egg for osu to win this year....signs or no signs. the anger over the signs stuff is to try to stop the bleeding in the hearts where they know the torch has been passed yet again.

Keep the troll comments…

Keep the troll comments. Troll comments are funny. Someone who has nothing better to do with their lives but seek out fights in a safe environment is a fine example of a wimp. Dont hate the wimps, enjoy the wimps. It's free entertainment and a moment when you can enjoy the misery of another and not feel any guilt or face any judgment.

Spectrum can suck it. Disney…

Spectrum can suck it. Disney can suck it. There is very little content on tv anymore worth watching. I held on for years basically for news and sports. Most sports honestly aren't worth watching anymore. Even college football is in a state of serious decline. None, I mean none, of the cable news networks bury more than an once of truth into their unending brainwashing of their viewership. Its insulting that the CNNs FoxNews and MSNBCs of the world think their viewers are brainless based on the garbage they air most of the time. Disney spent that last decade neglecting/ignoring their cash cow, families with children, and all of the sudden it's a shock that attendance is down, movies are poor, and their limited streaming options have been exhausted by most. Stockholders need to demand that Disney be purged and reinvented as the current model is missing the mark, assuming it's not too late.

May the Big House BBQ lead…

May the Big House BBQ lead to a big late summer recruiting season. I'm having a bbq at my house this weekend too, only 35-40 visitors and none that are likely to get big NIL deals. All of em have already committed by blood or marriage, family bbq. No big signings, no big news, just a lot of smoked meats, smoked mac and cheese, and beer. Firing up the smoker at 3pm today.  I'll have to thank my osu fan family members for attending the satellite BBQ at The Big House...they will be thrilled. (I know I know...osu fans...but they are family...you have to love em)

I bought a car for my daughter recently, financed a part of it to get an additional rebate. I forgot to unfreeze my credit. didnt matter chase approved the loan anyway. a little annoying to say the least. I knew their inquiry was blocked because I got the notification while I was sitting there, figured they would be out to tell me there was a problem, nope, just paperwork.

I have to agree, if you…

I have to agree, if you didnt grow up flipping through comic books, superheroes are odd.  A bunch of adults running around in Underoos on the big screen is kind of silly....unless you ran around playing superhero in your Underoos as a kid.

movies are a family affair…

movies are a family affair in your neck of the woods huh?!

Independence Day is…

Independence Day is celebrating one nation's escape from another nation's rule. I dont think it is supposed to represent individual independence but rather the beginning of our nation's journey to make all free. Clearly it wasnt the end of suppression and persecution as it was followed by a bloody civil war and world wars...modern society clearly has a long way to go. The Revolutionary War was merely a step.

Independence Day, Veterans…

Independence Day, Veterans Day, and Memorial Day are the big ones in my mind.....the persons that these days recognize and the causes they sacrificed for make all other holiday celebrations possible in this country. Celebrating Juneteenth is powerful, recognizing the first step taken toward healing from a dark chapter in American history. Many have given their lives for freedom and many others lived and died never having tasted freedom....sobering indeed.

I dont think there shoukld…

I dont think there should be any national holidays that all US citizens cannot or should not recognize/celebrate. Even if the event that led to recognition of the holiday does not directly apply to all of us, we all should celebrate the fact that we can recognize holidays and have gatherings largely absent government persecution or interference. Celebrating freedom is always a good thing.

more alcohol may just be the answer. make it easier to tolerate american society. a beer to get the fringe to step back from the cliff and a beer for rest of us to blunt the irritation caused by the fringe not jumping. it's a win win.

I am so glad I had an new employer 18+ ago that basically said that if u have a social media account and that u can be identified as an employee of ours on that platform, or easily discovered elsewhere, anything you say will be assumed to be interpreted as the employers position and therefore would be grounds for termination...period. never have created a single account on any platform other then here....best decision I have ever made....and it was essentially made for me.

they also have unlimited…

they also have unlimited resources to complete those tasks. card catalogs, microfiche, and ribbon typewriters with no correction ribbon are a different animal entirely. as a person who has attend college in the 80s 90s 00s and 10s, I can tell u from personal experience it is easier to be a student now. the world at ones fingertips, autocite, and spellcheck.

Agreed. I enjoy all physical…

Agreed. I enjoy all physical tasks knowing that someday I will no longer be able to do them for myself. My 82 year old father still does all of his own lawn work and clears snow. He tends some of his neighbors lawns. I really think his lifetime of seeking out physical work has contributed significantly to his longevity.

I have been fairly lucky…

I have been fairly lucky when it comes to rust. I've had a dozen or so fords 80s to present, a 2017 jeep, a 2013 Honda pilot and a 2003 silverado. only the pilot and silverado have rotted. pilot quarters and Silverado rockers.

Sorry, that stinks to hear…

Sorry, that stinks to hear. I have never had anything threatening said to me wearing M attire, or anything stolen or damaged. My kids, when they were little, always looked for a maize shirt in a crowd because they knew it was probably me. It actually worked out really well at amusement parks, malls, and the like.

I think the hatred is a bit…

I think the hatred is a bit overplayed to be honest. I've lived in columbus metro for 40+ years. M bumper stickers, license plate brackets, 4'×6' M flag flying out front every autumn. Never have had a car damaged or house vandalized. nearly all of those years parking on osu campus many days a week. even lived on campus a few of those years and nothing happened. maybe the ohio plates got me a pass...dont know.

nah, I try to never give…

nah, I try to never give anyone grief unless face to face. somehow online interaction just isn't the right venue for such behavior....harder to enjoy

I would trade down, tank next season, and draft JJ #1 after his heisman and natty campaign next year

I disagree with the over 50-…

I disagree with the over 50---majority of drivers under 50 have never learned to drive manuals. 50 year olds grew up when most vehicles had standard manuals and optional automatics--we all learned to row. In all honesty if one does not have the strength to operate a clutch, they probably have little business driving any car---not safe for other drivers on the road. Of course the exception being someone with a poor functioning or absent left lower limb that otherwise has the necessary strength to operate a vehicle with automatic transmission.

I dragged fox body mustangs…

I dragged fox body mustangs in 80s 90s and manual was definitely the way to go unless you had thousands (a lot back then) to drop in a built C4 or 700R4 (I know GM trans, but damn, ford's AOD was garbage). A built automatic with a reverse manual valve body and appropriate stall torque converter for power band of engine was the way to go for a serious track car even then. But now, the bone stock autos outperform sticks even driven by masterful operators, and get better mileage. Sadly, as someone who prided myself in being able to row the gears and hole shot with the best of them, I wouldnt waste the time with a manual these days---would get tired of studying taillights of comparable automatic equipped cars being driven by someone who bought it yesterday.

I know this is going to piss off some Beatles fans but I cant remember a Beatles cover that i didnt like better than the Beatles original.

I would rather michigan play…

I would rather michigan play a tough schedule every year and play more quality teams. Michigan has more resources than the vast majority of programs in college football. Should play programs with similar resources. If anything, I think there should be divisions in college sports based on athletic department budgets.

there are half semester…

there are half semester courses but I didnt realize one could enroll mid semester. a second half semester course that one could enroll in after the window at the beginning of the semester would be problematic for the school....having to bill tuition and/or fees again mid semester. there is no mid semester tuition deadline that I could find. as far as I can tell u would have to register for the class by the first friday of the semester. One can drop a second half class 2 weeks after it starts, but I cant find any last registration day except at beginning of semester. certainly could be wrong, but I have noone to ask this late at night.
