That transfer QB - can't think of his name - is solid and I believe he was all Big 12. They're loaded but - and you hit on it - will their sorry ass OL from last year be improved? That the $64,000 question
Yep, they had 12 junior players that were projected to be possibly drafted and only M. Harrison declared. Everybody else is returning. Not sure why some think OSU only having 4 drafted is a good thing - IT'S NOT. This might be their most stacked squad in decades IF they can figure out the OL (a BIG if)
Then you add in their B1G Portal players ----- Caleb Downs, QB Sayin and RB Judkins - all in the top 5, well you get the idea. I've already read a few articles saying that they'll have the most talent next year - including Alabama and Georgia
Yeah, I know we all get excited when UM brings in a high caliber transfer - like Gayle (OSU) - but the reality of it is that it's just a whole new game now with NIL and the TP. I've been travelling around the different B1G sites and teams like Indiana and OSU - while losing key players - are also bringing in some really good players for next year. Basically, it's now about playing time and $$$$$ - like it or not
Not really. Many kids are in the transfer portal because things didn't work out at their previous school and a big part is the lack of playing time and riding the bench. The Portal is far from being a cure-all solution
Texas - on paper - might be the most talented team on paper in the country.......even ahead of OSU and Oregon. We just have a monster schedule this year
Sure hope not. We'll need a lot better ratio than that especially in the B1G. We're going to find out a lot about this team against Texas who could very well have the best talent in the country
I read that they played 123 players today which included (obviously) a ton of walk-on players so I'm not quite sure why so many are putting an emphasis on a glorified scrimmage. Many of their star players only played a series or two. We'll see a lot of the same next Saturday in our scrimmage-game
He's not competing for the starting job. It's between Brown and that transfer - Howard (the preceived leader). Also, many of their following think Keinholz and Brown will transfer out in the upcoming Portal
Likewise, I'll be glued on the QB and OL. Those positions will be our question marks as I believe the rest of our lineup - especially the D - is solid-decent
I visit that site every once in awhile and I believe it's one of the oldest - if not the oldest - fan sites out there. Does anyone know if there are any others that have been around longer than that O-Zone ?
They're not in as of right now but if you read around the other boards, they're the team no one wants to play. They're cooking right now after firing their worthless-underachieving HC. That's a big hint Warde
I think just about every school self-reports minor violations. I believe Iowa just reported 6 in the last month. We probably have too. And let's be honest, with the Portal and especially NIL, how the hell can there be any major violations anymore. CF is the wild, wild west show now.
I second this - ND can eat shit. I probably hate those bastards more than any other school or fanbase just because they have their noses up in the air and feel they're above everyone else. Don't even let them in the Playoffs if they don't want to join a conference.
They have some really decent talent. Like you said though, Holtmann was just a lousy coach. Just hope Warde is taking note on what a coaching change can do to a down program
That's a killer although Washington will take a big step back this year. I believe that they're losing 17 of 22 starters and they don't have the returning depth like many of the CF powerhouses
Iowa has received the biggest scheduling breaks over the last 5 years or so, One of them was getting to play in that POS B1G West which was a total joke. But they'll get waxed in Columbus - probably the only real tough game they play.
The game I'm keeping an eye on is the Iowa-Maryland game. I equate Maryland to USC.....if they ever figure out how to play defense, watch out

College football transfer portal rankings: Top 25 Big Ten newcomers for 2024 season (247sports.com)
Correct, Georgia had 15
Barrett was just taken - number 10
At this point, free agency would probably be best for the remaining guys. But yes, disappointed we didn't have more drafted
The B1G had 5 of the top 9 as Nebraska, OSU and Wisky finished 7, 8, and 9th
Eventually toast......just a matter of time. It's all about TV and eyeballs.

Iowa's 2024 passing game worse than 2023? I didn't think that was possible.

Set the alarm clock

Hard to judge any QBs - no matter who the team is - during the Spring. The defense is always ahead of the offense this early in the season

That's typical for most offenses in the Spring. it just takes the offense longer to click than the defense

I actually think you're serious. He was a POS murderer and criminal. Enough said
The only thing that was keeping him at Kentucky was the HUGE buyout
I've seen this on a few projections lately.
Likewise, I'll be glued on the QB and OL. Those positions will be our question marks as I believe the rest of our lineup - especially the D - is solid-decent

Agree, keep him away from UM. Seems like someone that doesn't follow the rules
I believe - according to Eleven Warriors - that the OSU buyout of Holtmann was $12 million
Chicago has been the worst organization in the NFL since the mid 80s especially when it comes to QBs.
Likewise. Keep JJ away from the Bears. Chicago is the place where QBs go to die. That USC QB will be no different there
They're not in as of right now but if you read around the other boards, they're the team no one wants to play. They're cooking right now after firing their worthless-underachieving HC. That's a big hint Warde
Wish now that I had done the same thing
You paying attention Warde?
Probably?
I keep telling myself that but then there's also Warde
Can't argue one bit. He's just clueless
That's the only positive about this shit show
I think we all know what needs to be done once the season ends. This is past being embarrassing
This is a total disaster in the making
Better choice of words
Yep, not that hard to figure out. Just hope Warde sees the same thing. Saying the BB program is a train wreck is an understatement
Seriously, are there any recruiting rules left and an even better question, who's going to enforce them? The spineless NCAA? OK, whatever

It's the only time I'll pull for OSU. Izzo just has a face you'd like to punch. Hate that prick
Edey was just too much for us
I don't care if it's UM or OSU, it's just hard to win on the road in the B1G. We have a shot
If it takes that long
I second this - ND can eat shit. I probably hate those bastards more than any other school or fanbase just because they have their noses up in the air and feel they're above everyone else. Don't even let them in the Playoffs if they don't want to join a conference.
Maybe - maybe not. Go Blue. Keep in mind who the "little brother" is here
They have some really decent talent. Like you said though, Holtmann was just a lousy coach. Just hope Warde is taking note on what a coaching change can do to a down program
Agree, not arguing that. Just saying that sometimes strength of schedule can be misleading
That's a killer although Washington will take a big step back this year. I believe that they're losing 17 of 22 starters and they don't have the returning depth like many of the CF powerhouses
And would have been waxed just like every other West team in the B1G CCG before them. That entire East-West setup was a TOTAL joke
