Mario & Rod said the Tigers are extra motivated, since Verlander made it clear he wanted to pitch against them, and not the All Star Game.  I guess whatever works for them.

I thought I heard that it was raised...but info hasn't exactly been forthcoming, so it's all speculation.

So glad that I've been dutifully continuing to upvote during the outage, with the belief that they would all still count.  Not.  Bang me I guess, especially now that it counts.

I must have read through this thread at least about 8 times, but it's too difficult to find the new posts, so I give up.  I can only find the posts at the end if I filter by "Newest First".

07/10/2018 - 4:04pm I think they are safer in…

I think they are safer in some ways...in a collision, the result is often better.  SUV's have more mass (always helps), sit higher (if you get rear-ended or hit head-on by a pickup truck or another SUV while in a sedan the truck may override the car since the bumpers are different heights; side impact is also more severe since the bumper may be higher than the car's Rocker Reinf), and are just tougher all-around due to increased durability.  Sedans are designed to offset these risks to some extent but you can't cheat physics.

Sure, they do roll over easier due to the higher center of gravity.  This is really the only attribute I can think of in which cars are inherently safer.

07/10/2018 - 3:52pm SUV's are typically…

SUV's are typically engineered to be more durable than sedans, more like a truck.  Even CUV's do, too, although to a lesser extent..  Better for road potholes, off road, etc.

They are also:

(a) are capable of towing/hauling larger loads, etc.

(b) larger, requiring more/larger interior trim. larger wheels/tires, larger Roof, more Roof Bows, etc;

(c) have Liftgates instead of Decklids which costs more due to all of the added/upgraded hardware (more trim, wiper/washer, power operation, lightweight materials to assist with opening/closing, hinges, elec. wiring, etc).  Also requires a more reinforced Liftgate opening to prevent matchboxing, squeaks (also due to item D below), etc;

(d) don't have a "Package Tray" (the shelf between the rear seat and rear window/backlite) so they inherently have less torsional rigidity than a sedan which requires stiffening other areas that are not as efficient as a direct beam connection that the Pkg Tray enables (items C & D exist on a smaller scale for hatchback cars);

(e) many have large sunroofs often combined with panoramic fixed glass panels, etc.

This is not an all inclusive list, but gives you an idea why sedans cost less.

Yes, I am as well. I wonder if it has anything to do with finally fixing the point total to resume updating (which Seth mentioned is apparently being worked on), and/or possibly adding a link to this box to view our account, etc.

You have problems. This shows how part of your agenda is you just want to piss people off. You knew what he meant, and we can’t edit posts. But you just had to show how smart and witty you think you are. You are a pathetic, little man.  We can take most of the critical comments without being an asshole to kids, but lose the dickhead attitude.  It’s really getting old, both that and the reactions from people here once you start your shit.

Going to Phoenix next weekend.  Now that's summer!  But it's a dry heat...

Then we road trip to San Diego for a few days with some old friends visiting from Canada. It'll be much cooler there, eh.

Speaking of Joe Buck...I've been watching the series "Brockmire", which is hilarious.  It's about a broken-down alcoholic baseball announcer.  Definitely recommend it.  It's on IFC network and Amazon.

Anyway, Joe Buck had a cameo on the last episode.  They had an alcoholic intervention for Brockmire in a bar, Joe Buck attended via Skype due to his busy schedule. He was doing the "Senior LPGA Skins Game at the French Lick Resort, the jewel of SE Indiana", it was a jab at his apparent desire to broadcast any event just to be on the air.

It was a strange concept, but a funny appearance, not taking himself too seriously like you would think.

06/14/2018 - 7:34pm Every now and then on mobile…

Every now and then on mobile using Safari, the body of text in a post within a thread will be about twice as wide as 99% of the other posts. It spills over into a “grayed out” area to the right, past a vertical line that looks like a page break.

I have to scroll over to the right to read the entire body of text .

06/14/2018 - 10:08am Move the avatar pic into the…

Move the avatar pic into the header row, the same row as the user name and post date/time.

In the current layout all of the space below the avatar pic is wasted, adding to scrolling, whitespace, etc.  Not sure why it needs to be in a separate column. If the picture was in the header row, that would be more efficient so that the body of the post message could now utilize the total available width of the column.

This also would reduce or eliminate the need to shrink the avatar pics in a thread that is getting narrower, since the header row heights are constant(?).

06/14/2018 - 9:59am Abbreviate the time units in…

Abbreviate the time units in the "Last Post" column on the board.

"XX hours XX minutes ago" is too wide to fit in the column, so "ago" is forced into a second row, which adds to the row height on those rows, increases wasted space, and adds to more scrolling down. Seems like overkill to spell out "hours" and "minutes".  Just abbreviate to "hrs" and "mins".  Or you could just format time as "XX:XX" ago", which saves even more space.

You could make the column wider but that's better to be avoided.

Add the names of OP poster to the board, like 2.0, which also had the name of the last poster

Add option to sort the board by most recent post.  Chronological order (sorted by time that OP was created) doesn't allow the popular posts to float to the top of the board.

I have also noticed the lower numbers of post replies.  I wonder if the Twitter feed is affecting this.  Before 3.0, I would often be amazed at the number of replies in a fairly recent post.  Now, I am finding that I am one of the first ones.

Nobody told me there'd be days like these.  Strange days indeed.  Most peculiar, momma.

Good article.  Mo's the best.  Could the Mavs draft him at #33 as Dirk's replacement?  He can't have too many years left at 39 years old.  Not easy to find 6'11" guys that can shoot, so they may pounce on him, you never know.  It would be a great story.

I had to copy/paste the link into a browser to read it.

Please fix the cause of the page position resetting to the top when either (a) posting, or (b) changing the post order from oldest to newest and number of posts per page.

It would also be nice if your last page viewing preference was saved as default, like the old site did, so you don’t need to change it every...single... time....

Call it a bug or bad coding, but it results in totally losing your place on the page and then you gotta find it again. Or not, and you just curse and give up.

I've seen this comment a lot - and I've also seen some speculation that the minimum point total for voting and posting OP's has increased.  But we can only speculate since there has been no communication at all by the powers that be.
