Khaleke Hudson back for senior season
January 4th, 2019 at 4:02 PM ^
Everybody saw that on television, as I did.
What tv viewers probably didn't see (I don't know, because I was at both games and didn't see the telecasts) was that Khaleke has done that before. After his last series in the 2017 OSU game in Ann Arbor, Khaleke came off the field and threw his helmet down on the sideline in rage at how the unit had not stopped OSU. And at several times on the Michigan sideline in Columbus this year, while Chase Winovich was wandering down the sideline with a trainer (Winovich was obviously playing injured and was barely able to take the field and function), Khaleke was yelling at teammates the way that a captain should yell at teammates when the performance sucks.
He's a warrior. I wish we had 22 Khaleke Hudsons. I am thrilled that he is coming back. On my "most want to return" list (with Bush's departure already announced), there wasn't even a second place.

We knew Gary and Bush were gone, but outside that, Long was my #1 to come back, followed by Hudson.
I personally have thought Long has been a decent amount better than Hill, although all the fancy advanced stat metrics don't quite show that.
But Hudson is obviously huge coming back.

Captain.
January 4th, 2019 at 3:43 PM ^
The roster is set and ready to start a new chapter in Michigan football. Circle late November in Ann Arbor vs osu. Go blue!
January 4th, 2019 at 3:44 PM ^
I'm glad he is back.
January 4th, 2019 at 3:47 PM ^
Nice! I support this decision
January 4th, 2019 at 3:47 PM ^
Was happy to see him mention that THE TEAM had unfinished business before he said HE had unfinished business. I hope he keeps that mindset
January 4th, 2019 at 4:12 PM ^
He's not coming back. He never left.
January 4th, 2019 at 3:47 PM ^
Most refreshing. At least one more draft eligible guy didn't feel content with those last two games defining their Michigan career.
January 4th, 2019 at 3:47 PM ^
Welcome back!! Glad to have you for another year. Your leadership will be huge.

January 4th, 2019 at 4:39 PM ^
thanks
January 4th, 2019 at 3:52 PM ^
Is he quick/fast enough to switch to Middle LB? More lbs? Is that a foolish notion?
January 4th, 2019 at 4:05 PM ^
Between Ross and McGrone there is enough talent at LB to mitigate a complete drop off from Bush. Not saying they will be Bush part deux, but 1 of them will have to step up big time.
January 4th, 2019 at 5:28 PM ^
Have there been any hype about Jordan Anthony at all?
I remember him being a 4-Star our of IMG and being really pumped about that get.
Figured that his name wouldn’t be mentioned until Devin Bush was gone, but am surprised to not have heard much.
January 4th, 2019 at 5:30 PM ^
Has McGrone taken a single defensive snap?
January 4th, 2019 at 7:16 PM ^
No. He was a higher rated recruit than Bush was.
Between him and the other 4 LBs I'm hoping the LB core as a whole doesn't drop off too much.
January 4th, 2019 at 7:34 PM ^
I mentioned in a thread a couple of days ago that I for one would like to see this. The others (Gil, Ross, Anthony) haven't shown me much and McGrone hasn't even sniffed the field. I would go one step further and move Metellus to Viper.
January 4th, 2019 at 3:53 PM ^
Proved he’s the heir apparent to the captain role during the Peach Bowl. Good to have you back, Khaleke.
January 4th, 2019 at 3:55 PM ^
Glad he's back.
January 4th, 2019 at 3:56 PM ^
Bravo, young man! Good to hear.
January 4th, 2019 at 4:07 PM ^
Captain Hudson. Let’s do this!
January 4th, 2019 at 4:04 PM ^
My take on the last couple of tweets from both returning and exiting Michigan football players is the tone of them. Enthusiastic about the program, opportunities, coaches, etc. I think that tends to put to rest a good deal of the speculation on locker room discord.
Higdon's and Aubrey Soloman's departures may be the exceptions. Whatever was going on there will be forgotten as the players move on to winter conditioning and the annual optimism and hope that marks the spring practice.
January 4th, 2019 at 4:15 PM ^
What was 'going on' with Higdon other than sitting out the bowl game? Was he at odds with the team/staff? Serious question.
January 4th, 2019 at 4:23 PM ^
Someone posted that Higdon's camp was pissed at how they used him against OSU or something and not getting post-season accolades.
Take that 3rd hand account knowing it's 4th hand knowledge.
January 4th, 2019 at 4:23 PM ^
there was scuttlebutt about higdon and, maybe even more importantly, higdon's family, being very upset about higdon not getting any awards at year-end. some of that might have been a chicken-and-egg thing, where he'd burned some bridges before that, but i'm merely a parrot here, not an oracle.
January 4th, 2019 at 6:42 PM ^
Drama queen Higdon didn’t get a trophy? Is he going to complain when he goes in the 6th round?
January 4th, 2019 at 7:06 PM ^
Seriously? That is pretty weak.
January 4th, 2019 at 4:05 PM ^
I respect the hell out of him for his fiery leadership during the Florida game.
That needs to be rewarded with an Ohio State victory.
January 4th, 2019 at 4:06 PM ^
Great news! Now go be a leader like you showed in the Peach Bowl!
January 4th, 2019 at 4:12 PM ^
Great news! I will never forget his game vs Minnesota a couple years back. I have rarely seen a defensive player take over a game like that!
January 4th, 2019 at 4:38 PM ^
It helps when the opponent's game plan is "ignore Khaleke Hudson. No matter what. Signaling blitz? Ignore. About to light up the QB? Ignore. Do you understand me?? Let him do whatever!"
January 4th, 2019 at 4:43 PM ^
I think he created just as many of those opportunities, it seemed like he was allowed to freelance a big portion of that game which was how that viper position with peppers was initially played...
January 4th, 2019 at 4:13 PM ^
Hudson's fiery enthusiasm on the sideline is the only thing I choose to remember about the Peach Bowl!
January 4th, 2019 at 4:15 PM ^
Football news that makes me happy is so very welcome.
January 4th, 2019 at 4:25 PM ^
Great news. Will be a stalwart of the Michigan Defense. Appreciate his passion. Thanks for sharing this good news !
January 4th, 2019 at 4:27 PM ^
That is GREAT news! So much appreciated the character both Hudson & Winovich displayed the last couple of weeks. Two true Michigan Men there!
January 4th, 2019 at 4:35 PM ^
Great news, and good for him.
January 4th, 2019 at 4:41 PM ^
Keep my receipt... all B1G1st next year, with AA upside
January 4th, 2019 at 4:44 PM ^
Excellent, one more year for him to make Frames Janklin regret turning him down (multiple times).
January 4th, 2019 at 4:46 PM ^
Finally some good football news
January 4th, 2019 at 4:48 PM ^
I would really love a grad transfer on the interior line. And I'm pretty bullish on both Hinton and Smith being field ready. Hoping that Jeter takes a huge leap
January 4th, 2019 at 5:00 PM ^
That's a good way to end the short work week.
January 4th, 2019 at 5:13 PM ^
Love Seniors.
Go number 7.
January 4th, 2019 at 5:19 PM ^
So we have 5 returning starters on defense and 8 on offense plus kicker punter kick returner and punt returner. That’s not bad and Meyers gone so more help for Harbaugh. All I ask is l can we please demand excellence and not settle for trash next season...criticize the coaches and not the players...curse Jim Delaney and go ape shit on the refs when they screw us...that’s my New Years resolution
January 4th, 2019 at 5:27 PM ^
I'm going to make a t-shirt that reads
"DEMAND EXCELLENCE - DON'T SETTLE FOR TRASH"
January 4th, 2019 at 7:44 PM ^
No more t shirts please after that revenge your I think we need a break
