Look at you, tough guy!
December 30th, 2018 at 8:57 AM ^
Ummm... it's pretty much the definition of "selfish".
December 29th, 2018 at 4:07 PM ^
Indeed...fuck the players who decided that "I" was more important than "team."
We ought to have a rule in place that if you choose to sit out and you aren't injured, you pay back the cost of your season's scholarship and coaching.
December 29th, 2018 at 4:24 PM ^
ALL of you guys who think the guys who stayed out of this meaningless game are selfish are STUPID!
All you do is have to have your eyes open and watch how many injuries happen each and every game. Football is brutal and unforgiving. Horrible sport.
My nephew Kenny Demens blew his knee out in his 3rd year at Arizona. Right before the 4th year contract could set you for life. What happens? Arizona let him go even though he was fully rehabbed and had another rookie take his place that was cheaper.
This is $millions of dollars on the line, and they did what was best for them PERSONALLY and THEIR FAMILIES.
These guys busted their butts, had injuries and made a LOT of money for the University and the NCAA.
Sit out and go pro if you have to young man! None of these clowns will pay your bills if your knees is blown out.
December 29th, 2018 at 4:58 PM ^
That’s America my man. If someone can do as good of a job as you for half the money you are SOL. It sucks but it’s reality
December 29th, 2018 at 6:42 PM ^
That's why the younger generation is absolutely dropping out...
Shits gonna get weird up in the USA for the next few decades!
December 29th, 2018 at 5:11 PM ^
Plus, you give up the right to be drafted and can only sign with a team as a free agent at minimum cost, or pay back all your scholarship cost oh, it comes right out of your first NFL paycheck, if you get one.
December 29th, 2018 at 4:29 PM ^
Losing Solomon also hurt... Can't do much when missing heavy production on defense.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:40 PM ^
Thank god for the early signing period.
December 29th, 2018 at 4:16 PM ^
This is exactly what I was thinking. This loss could have tainted this recruiting class.
December 29th, 2018 at 6:42 PM ^
Yep, going into the game, I was thinking the recruiting class was more important than the Peach Bowl result. We've got a good class that will be coming into its own in the 2021 season.
Didn't foresee the 41-15 drubbing. That can't help with the 2019 recruiting class.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:41 PM ^
Honeymoon is over for Don Brown. JFC adapt your defense, cause people have figured it out and the shit doesn't work against good teams. This is the most goddamn stubborn coaching staff in the country.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:41 PM ^
How many times is a Don Brown defense going to give up a 1st down on 3rd and long play?
This has been a problem for all 3 years he has been here.
December 29th, 2018 at 4:06 PM ^
Thank goodness.... for I thought I was the only one here openly bitching on 3rd and long, that a conversion is coming.... so fucking aggravating....
December 29th, 2018 at 4:30 PM ^
Well . . . Harbaugh and Brown will tell you that the aggressive defense works well enough. If it gives up two touchdowns a game then shouldn't the offense be able to get 3 touchdowns? If the offense could catch a pass (no drops) then OSU is a game. Maybe the D looks better today our the Michigan offense could run some clock;
December 29th, 2018 at 6:16 PM ^
If don brown moves on to head coaching I wouldn't be mad, it's time to be less predictable on defense, the idea that we are gonna dare u to beat us one on one before the rush gets there is one dimensional, and you only screw yourself when you go up against a team that can and you are unable to adjust
December 29th, 2018 at 7:41 PM ^
Absolutely, I was sitting in the stands and before the play I said to my husband, I know they're going to get a first down because Michigan always gives up these long plays on 3rd down...i could see it coming and I'm a 63 year old woman!
December 29th, 2018 at 8:21 PM ^
I’m more confident with 3rd and 3 than 3rd and 20.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:42 PM ^
Defense is easily toppled if an offense can do one thing well.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:42 PM ^
Florida missed some wide open TDs too. Could have easily had 50 on is.
DTs are bad and we missed Bush badly. Middle was open all game.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:45 PM ^
Here’s the uncomfortable truth....next years defense will be far worse. Today was just a preview It.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:45 PM ^
Apparently Don Brown has never heard of cover 2 or cover 3.
December 29th, 2018 at 4:14 PM ^
What is this "coverage" concept?
December 29th, 2018 at 3:46 PM ^
Fire Don Brown
December 29th, 2018 at 3:46 PM ^
Don Brown can wake up every morning for the next year and think about ND, OSU and UF - his unit was abused in all 3 games.
Hudson’s tirade on the sideline also signals a group that has lost interest. Give Khaleke a ton of credit for playing all the way with heart.
December 29th, 2018 at 6:54 PM ^
And an upvote to Chase, class.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:48 PM ^
We were out some guys, how the fuck was Brown supposed to go against that. I mean I get the criticism vs OSU, but he was handicapped with guys not playing.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:53 PM ^
Should be ready to roll. I get DL losing a lot when Gary decides not to play, because Soloman et al. , but no excuse for LB's.
December 29th, 2018 at 4:17 PM ^
Is a good coach only a good coach when he has "players"? This whole time I thought a good coach was a coach who could adapt to personnel.
Crazy.
Here's a couple of examples (which have been prevalent during Brown's tenure):
1. RB in motion, out goes the only LB in middle of field to cover RB to boundary edge of field). Commence free yards for rumbling QB's as a safety comes down to play MLB
2. Man coverage on 3rd and long or (take your pick) man coverage on goal line with no communication. 5 DB's on 4 WR, name it.
He's a one trick pony and it doesn't matter if Bush was out there or you. You both would have vacated the middle of the field (where, you know, a MIDDLE linebacker plays) and picked your nose while watching someone from the other team bust a gain.
December 29th, 2018 at 4:22 PM ^
Looks like you have not been paying attention. Still had better talent but sometimes better coaching can beat better talent.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:22 PM ^
They've know for a month those guys weren't going to play, they aren't going to have those guys next season and will also be losing some more. If this is his handicapped effort, then next season's D is going to be a mess.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:49 PM ^
Turns out Devin Bush was really, really good. At least two of the Florida TDs (3rd and 20, the QB draw) he eliminates by himself. Which is not exactly encouraging for next year.
The safeties were atrocious all game. Dax Hill better be good enough to start day one, because we need an influx of talent and speed at that position.
DL as a whole is worrisome next year. We have pass rushers but dunno if we can hold up against the run.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:49 PM ^
We're in trouble next year.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:50 PM ^
Change is coming. O needs a re-make and D will need to mature as greats move on.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:52 PM ^
Dax Hill: "F........ck"
Zack Harrison: "Welp"
December 29th, 2018 at 7:05 PM ^
I feel bad for Dax. If he stuck with his January decision date there is no way he would be going to this shit show. Suck it up for 3 years and go make millions in the NFL, I guess.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:52 PM ^
I think the key is have a decent defense but explosive offense. If you look at the other conferences this is what you notice except in the big ten. Oklahoma is a good example.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:52 PM ^
Metellus is not good. I don’t know why fans and especially the coaches think he is good
December 29th, 2018 at 3:54 PM ^
Because Kinnel is so, so, much worse
December 29th, 2018 at 4:04 PM ^
That’s fair. Metellus was in the middle of every big play today. But yeah, Kinnel is really bad too
December 29th, 2018 at 3:53 PM ^
This is who we are. It's best to accept that.
December 29th, 2018 at 4:06 PM ^
It's not enjoyable, but it's reality. We have been like this for 30 years with one exception--1997. Period. It's ridiculous to pretend otherwise, stomp your feet and say we "should" be more. There's a lot of things worse in college football than consistent 10 win seasons doing it clean, with good academics.
December 29th, 2018 at 3:54 PM ^
Don Brown looks like he was hired to beat ohio state and for two years put us in position to do so but they adjusted and it might be time for us to do so as well
December 29th, 2018 at 4:05 PM ^
And 3 of those 13 points were thanks to a block punt. If Wilson doesn't advance Shea's fumble they might have had to punt.
December 29th, 2018 at 4:00 PM ^
I think all of them sat this one out like their NFL draft pals.
December 29th, 2018 at 4:02 PM ^
So, again, we find ourselves asking the same questions.
Why, on 3rd down, do you refuse to leave players in the box with mobile QBs/offenses that will run draws? Or even just runs up the middle. Indiana, OSU, MSU, PSU, and now Flordia have all ran QB draws or had plays where it was a quick read and then bail (over the last 2 years). Michigan vacates the middle of the field, leaves a safety at 15 yards, and gets gashed up the middle. Or they leave 1 LB and it's 5 on 5 with the OL and no one to save them if they all get blocked.
Metellus made 1 stop on that today because Florida was at the 15 yard line so he was 10 yards off the ball instead of 15 and could get Frank's before he got the 1st down. Still got within 4 yards of it.
The safeties are slow. The DL (outside of the first quarter) wasn't moving the LOS, and not having your game changing MLB makes the defense gash prone. Similarly, not having Mo Hurst as your penetrating DT makes it even hsrder.
It's a good thing the early signing period passed and Hill signed because they need him. They also need McGrone to be Bush 2.0 because without a stud at MLB they don't have the horses to cover good athletes on spread teams. The "solve your problems with aggression" is good and all when it works. But your plan B cannot be fling more guys at the OL in hopes of getting a TFL. There has to be zone. Your LBs and Viper need to cover, and your DL needs to get home without 5th and 6th blitzers.
December 29th, 2018 at 4:03 PM ^
Fuck the players who sat out the game and put themselves before the team. Bush was hurt so he isn't on the list.
December 29th, 2018 at 4:53 PM ^
I agree Fuk Them..they let the team the players the fans DOWN..SELFISHLY
December 29th, 2018 at 4:07 PM ^
I'll say something nice: Khaleke Hudson played like a man today. Great game for him. I wish everyone else had his heart.
December 29th, 2018 at 4:08 PM ^
One thing I saw Wojo tweet that I agree with totally--our secondary turned out to be over-rated, particularly the safeties but including the corners too.
