Here is the thread for snowflakes and hot takes regarding the defense against Florida in the Peach Bowl.

I would really love to see the people who act all high-and-mighty when Michigan beats Maryland and Northwestern try to defend this shit. Accuse people of being hot-take artists if you don't call Brown the best d-coordinator in the country. What a joke.

The OSU game, 100% shitty coaching by him.  But he's playing against Florida without an All American linebacker, two all-conference defensive ends either at all or at full strength, no depth at defensive tackle with Solomon gone, he lost a couple of guys during the game, etc.  It wasn't a great performance by the defense, but that's a lot of talent not on the field to adjust for.  And at some point, you've only got the guys you have to work with.  People got mad Thomas isn't out there and I assume he should be, but if he can't dislodge anyone then that's a sign as well.

Brown needs to evolve his defensive schemes just like the offensive staff.  But he didn't forget how to coach defenses that played much better against these types of offenses at other stops.  I honestly don't know what's going on here with this staff, but the "now he's garbage" crowd are also off-base.

I apologize I ever thought he was good. Is this how it's supposed to work?

Brown needs fired. He clearly can't tweak his system to work against good teams. Michigan D is plenty talented. His numbers are greatly improved due to the ball control offense. When that doesn't work... we get this.

Ill say it the millionth time.....I prefer Durkins D...  this defense will send way too many players five yards upfield and leave nothing in the middle... a big gamble.... I prefer to see them rush 3, and blitz a fourth now and again, and contain....

I think we have to come to terms with the fact that this defense cant really defend teams with any real speed on offense.

The defense actually made a lot of plays today - I bet you will see a lot of good defensive plays on the UFR.  But all of the good was erased by a few big plays given up to blown coverages or a single missed tackle than ended up going for 50+

Losing Bush was a huge factor, but Gary is and always has been OVERRATED

Gary's production is easily replaceable. Whatd dude have 3 sacks this year. Gary has 9 sacks and 23TFL for his career at Michigan. What a joke. Josh Uche has had a quarter of the snaps yet already has 8 sacks for his career and had 7 this year when Gary went down

Just like Don Browns defense Gary's biggest weakness is OVER-pursuit of the QB

Until Michigan's defense can play zone coverage, we will continue to be exposed against good teams with elite athletes. Any team with a lot of time to prepare can and will expose a defense that is completely one dimensional. Playing only man coverage isn't "manly" or "tough". It's purely tunnel vision and refusal to acknowledge your weaknesses .

I'm tired of this "It doesn't mean anything" meme bullshit on this board.

YES it does mean something.  Recruits see this.  It is an actual game that reflects our season, and where U-M stands as a team.  It was embarassing and it DOES affect the program.

Also fuck Rashan, Kiran and JBB.  They could have helped. Probably wouldn't have been enough, but at least maybe we wouldn't make them look like fucking Alabama.  Hate the selfish attitude, and if they're that good and worried about their status they can take out an insurance policy. Devin's situation i understand.

I agree with your feelings regarding Rashan, Karan, and JBB. Karan was a captain and Rashan was supposed to be some savior, but he didn't even reach his ceiling. They quit on their teammates. Guess what guys? You never won a championship or Beat OSU. Congrats on your times kicking Rutgers ass.

I'm not at all certain that their team mates supported it. Chase is on record as having been hurt by their decisions. I'm sure there was a lot of internal angst about it in the locker room. If you think otherwise, then I doubt you've been part of a real team before.

Dude, they are treated like KINGS. This poor athlete being mistreated meme is total and utter bullshit without foundation. However, I do agree with your general sentiment that we shouldn't be criticizing their choices and that they have to do what they think is best for their future.
