Scott Frost happened
September 22nd, 2018 at 9:53 AM ^
It was like that last two weeks, too. We sold an extra pair for about $30 both weeks and felt lucky to unload them. Prices were well below that last week in particular.
September 22nd, 2018 at 9:56 AM ^
What the heck happened to Nebraska ticket prices?
Troy.
September 22nd, 2018 at 10:00 AM ^
I put out a tweet a couple days ago that they had already dropped below face. Once that happens the floor is gone and they can fall a lot. I bet you can get in for 10 bucks today just before kickoff.
September 22nd, 2018 at 10:11 AM ^
And yet just yesterday the AD was sending txt messages offering $85 seats.
September 22nd, 2018 at 10:20 AM ^
10 bux should be the normal price ffs
September 22nd, 2018 at 4:45 PM ^
I'd be cooler with the ticket prices if the prices for the concessions weren't so ridiculous.
September 22nd, 2018 at 10:04 AM ^
Can't be that cheap; I just bought two bottles of Coke and there were ZERO(!) tickets attached to them.
September 22nd, 2018 at 10:05 AM ^
Attendance is dropping at Michigan, as well as everywhere else. Unless it's a big game, tickets are going to be dirt cheap.
September 22nd, 2018 at 10:35 AM ^
Lowest price right now for Ohio State/Tulane is $75. With most in the $100-200 range.
It's not everywhere.
September 22nd, 2018 at 10:49 AM ^
Now $53 on StubHub. That’s only one shift of income for the typical OSU fan at the fast food restaurant or 2 hours of truck driving ...
September 22nd, 2018 at 10:54 AM ^
$53 is the lowest price for a single ticket. If you want 2 together they are $70/ea.
Lowest price right now for UM/Nebraska is $18. And that's for a B10 matchup, not Tulane.
September 22nd, 2018 at 11:04 AM ^
No great show at the Big House today. Just boring football.
Conversely, OSU fans have to get to the stadium if they want to celebrate the glorious return of their prodigal Urban ...
September 22nd, 2018 at 12:04 PM ^
Boy am I glad voting is back!
September 22nd, 2018 at 1:33 PM ^
Get the joke, but do you actually know what truck drivers are making today? Market is nuts, no drivers...many are reaping 70-100k a year for class A. You may be sitting well behind some of these people at games now.
September 22nd, 2018 at 10:55 AM ^
Well of course the cooler poopers are overpaying to share in the joy of welcoming back their beloved urban meyer because, for the most part, your team and its fans are trash.
September 22nd, 2018 at 11:00 AM ^
Columbus also doesn't have an NFL squad & the state of Ohio doesn't have another high end football team.
If you totally removed the Lions as a football option & made Michigan State more like a Conference USA or good MAC program, my bet is it'd boost Michigan's attendance numbers and/or ticket prices by a good amount.
September 22nd, 2018 at 11:26 AM ^
"Columbus" doesn't have an NFL team, but either does Ann Arbor. Ohio has both the Browns and the Bengals within a couple hours of OSU's campus. I'm not sure that's a good argument.
September 22nd, 2018 at 11:31 AM ^
Do the lions, Bengals, and browns count as professional football teams?
September 22nd, 2018 at 11:51 AM ^
No. #whodey #barelyfootball
September 22nd, 2018 at 1:17 PM ^
The Browns do now
ALL ABOARD THE BAKER TRAIN
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
September 22nd, 2018 at 10:23 PM ^
A better argument is that Michigan's student population has become much more out-of-state. Kids with less connection to the football team turning into alums that aren't sticking around michigan.
The better, better argument is Ann Arbor is significantly smaller than CBus. If UM were in say Sterling Heights or Warren or Mt. Clemens, I'm pretty sure tickets would be much more similar to Columbus. You'd have a lot more fans with easier access to the stadium. I mean, yeesh, CBus is a metropolis of 2M people. Ann Arbor is a 120k college town.
September 22nd, 2018 at 11:46 AM ^
Detroit doesn't have an NFL team either.
September 22nd, 2018 at 2:02 PM ^
Yeah and it’s fact that fan base is crazy and dumb enough to pay those prices to watch a game against Tulane. Big bad bucky scheduling another cream puff.
September 22nd, 2018 at 10:11 AM ^
People aren’t ready for the maize out obviously.
WD tweeted earlier in the week that nebraska was returning a ton of allocated tickets...
September 22nd, 2018 at 10:42 AM ^
I'm surprised by that. It seems like there were a lot of Husker fans around town yesterday.
September 22nd, 2018 at 10:48 AM ^
Nick B of freep is tweeting that there are a TON of Nebraska fans in AA..... so I have no idea where that info came from honestly.
September 22nd, 2018 at 11:55 AM ^
with the market falling the way it has been, it's possible there are plenty of Nebraska fans in town who bought tickets outside their Athletic Department's allotment.
September 22nd, 2018 at 12:31 PM ^
Maybe they returned their face value allocated tix to buy M fans tix for rock bottom.
Probably lots of visitors will wise up to this.
Wiscy & psu excepted this season.
September 22nd, 2018 at 11:50 AM ^
Or WD telling people not to bother showing up unless they did what he told them to do...
September 22nd, 2018 at 10:22 AM ^
I always wait right before kick to buy off stub hub. They are dirt cheap with that strategy. Plan on doing the same for Maryland.
September 22nd, 2018 at 10:22 AM ^
People were hoping to see a GIANT noodle, and instead they realized it's only Scott Frost.
September 22nd, 2018 at 10:43 AM ^
Instead of the giant scott frost noodle, they'll be seeing the GIANT scott frost douche.
September 22nd, 2018 at 10:28 AM ^
This could be a great game, but last week sucked a lot of excitement out by having 19 media timeouts that were spaced every 2 minutes of game action
September 22nd, 2018 at 10:45 AM ^
How to get butts in seats:
1. Lower ticket prices.
2. Fix cell coverage in stadium.
3. Cut media timeouts by about 2/3.
September 22nd, 2018 at 10:59 AM ^
Item 3 on your list would help me to watch more non-UM football games on TV also. I can tolerate commercials (barely) during Wolverine contests, but for other games I'm bummed by seeing the same Buick, Allstate, etc. commercials repeated for the third time BY HALFTIME. College games are getting nearly as bad as NFL games now.
September 22nd, 2018 at 11:14 AM ^
At home I typically have two or three games on at once. Split screen on the projector with another TV under the projector screen. Watching one game is just intolerable.
September 22nd, 2018 at 12:14 PM ^
Seriously though, NFL games take 2-1/2 hours on average.
September 22nd, 2018 at 11:03 AM ^
#1 isn't that big of an issue, or else we wouldn't have sold out in the first place. It's the secondary market that's hurting.
#2, eh, I don't know. Wouldn't hurt but I don't think it matters that much.
#3 - YES YES YES.
September 22nd, 2018 at 11:17 AM ^
Let fans bring in water so it's not a PITA.
September 22nd, 2018 at 10:48 AM ^
I wish I could still go to games .. smallkids means just watch it on tv
September 22nd, 2018 at 11:08 AM ^
Stunned how much they fell in the past few days. WMU tickets went for more
September 22nd, 2018 at 11:12 AM ^
They're terrible. And we aren't seen as playoff caliber at the moment. I was supposed to be there and didn't make the trip... Had too much to do around the house this weekend.
September 22nd, 2018 at 11:36 AM ^
I live in metro detroit but I’m in Lincoln for a wedding, and came to the haymarket area to watch the game and there is literally not a single person at the bars. We walked to 4 and we were only ones at each. Apparently no one cares here!
September 22nd, 2018 at 1:57 PM ^
My brother and I sold our extra pair for $110 apiece the day before the SMU game and thank goodness that we did, seeing as Nebraska lost to Troy the next day. I checked prices a few days later and saw that they had already started cratering. We got capital L lucky.
September 22nd, 2018 at 8:39 PM ^
Don’t be an idiot. Or try to be cute.
September 22nd, 2018 at 9:41 PM ^
I was able to get 3 tickets for 10 each and a single for free, all between 1130 and Noon. Didn't miss a single play!
