At this point Meyer should just keep quiet.  Any apology this guy issues sounds hollow anyway.  I can't wait for the sideline reporter asking Urbs how painful the suspension has been for him.  My TV may not survive.

Fuck Urban Meyer and anyone who likes him. It is understandable for OSU fans to acknowledge that Meyer did a bad thing and that they care more about winning than doing the right thing, and that they want to keep him around. But let's be clear, Meyer is a great coach, and a garbage human who should be shamed often.

Jesus H Christ this shit just won't end.....

I really don't care about what he has to say anymore. Nothing's going to happen to him. No one is saying anything about Meyer that hasn't been said for the last 10 years.

Time to move on.

What's it going to take for you to send some KGB insurgents into Columbus and make Meyer "disappear"? Only to re-appear 10-15 years from now in some Siberian gulag?

Columbus resident here.  Your request is actually probably easier than you think!  It's common and unspoken knowledge in these here parts that Russian organized crime families run some of the strip clubs around here, but doubtless our esteemed comrade Hotel Putingrad already knows this.

This actually a decent apology and what he should have said the first time. He made himself look way worse by being defensive off the bat. This is much more humble and straightforward. Too bad he lost the benefit of the doubt with the first two disasters of non-apology apologies.

Haha Urban Meyer is an absolute jerkoff.  Every time he goes on TV he looks like an idiot and then has to go on twitter on friday nights and monday mornings to "clarify" what he meant then make an even worse apology.

He makes that statement about not condoning domestic abuse as if some people do condone it. What world does he live in? Seriously, after he wrote that line, shouldn’t a little bell go off in his little brain? The little bell that tells him he is a sad, pathetic, win-at-all-costs sociopath. Do the right thing, retire again, for good this time. And when you do, stay away from the game. We don’t want to hear from you ever again.

litmus test for sincerity:  did the person just call a blatant lie a 'misstatement'?

if so, you might want not to bet the farm on anything else he says.   and using the word 'misstatement' is another lie, not just a 'misstatement'.

He will be better guys. Trust him. This is his 20398429428 apology and he never lies.

This is for recruits and their families not for public. duh.

Message to Pope Urban:  Stay off TV unless it's one of your OSU suck ups giving you a required tongue bath.  ESPN interview was another disaster.  Confirms Mark Twain's saying:  lies, damn lies and what comes out of Pope Urban's mouth when his lips move!  When Maurice Clarett questions your morality, you definitely have some big problems.   Must be that onset of "selective" early stage dementia.

You'd think a guy who managed guys like Aaron Hernandez would have had all the life experience needed improve at managing people...  Translation would be something like this:

"I'm terrible at paying attention to obvious red flags in others and managing people because all I care about is me and the on-field success of my football team.  Since I got busted on this one, and since we're 3-0 and looking like an NC caliber team, let me layer another false apology out there with the sole purpose to cover my own ass best I can until we win that NC and everyone forgives me anyway.  I'll be standing on that podium holding the NC trophy and Jim Nance will ask if the NC is extra special given the tough year I've had and I'll say yes because winning at football will have whitewashed my sins and justified all of the blind support of the program and fans that care far more about winning at football than domestic violence.

Oh, and the name Courtney Smith will never again come out of my mouth or my tweets.  She is now in the rearview.

My goal in life is to out-Tressel Jim Tressel by winning so much football that I can even go out and stab someone and the next year I'll be brought back to Ohio Stadium for a standing ovation by my adoring, cooler pooping fans who define a man not by his character but by winning at football to make them feel better about their otherwise empty lives."

"Extra special given the tough year I've had" -- this hits the nail on the head, and has put me into a state of depression about what's to come this season.  If Penn State can pull off the "overcoming adversity" story line, you know damn well Meyer can.

Why does he keep apologizing and pretending like he gives a crap?  He's above the law while at OSU.  He got his tap on the wrist.  Nobody outside Ohio believes him and OSU fans will believe anything he says.

This all seems like wasted energy.

I don't see him ever leaving OSU. The University just bent over backwards to cover for him and clearly gives zero f@!&s as to how they're viewed from those outside Buckeye Nation. He's never going to find a better place to coach than OSU and they're never going to find a better coach. He personifies the culture down there. It's a match made in ....
