06/08/2018 - 6:34am I think this is the year…

I think this is the year that DCaff makes his move to #2.  Love the Milton hype, but he's raw and a project.  McNamara coming in next year and think the pattern of a 4-5 star each year is becoming established.  Think that message was sent in the winter when Don Brown raved about DCaff.

If Patterson comes in this year and slays it, most likely cashing in.  Redshirt sophomore DCaff takes over with depth behind him.

Would not be surprised to see Peters go.  Think he has the tools but lacks the "it" factor.

06/04/2018 - 8:45am Hopefully

We can look at 17 as a "transition year".  Combination of bad QB play, weak and inconsistent OL and inexperience at WR led to bad offense.  Amazing how much of an impact the Newsome injury had on OL.  Lot of pressure on young D to keep them in games, which they did, but spent too much time on the field.

Patterson hopefully solves the QB issue, hopefully DCaff coming on to be the back up over Peters.  Coaching, experience and Black coming back makes WR's better.  Hopefully the same on OL especially if Warriner develops T's.  Excited about TE's, combo of McKeon and Gentry could be incredible.  D is going to be scary good.

Even with tough schedule, could be talking about 9-10 win team this year.

05/31/2018 - 1:49pm Football Size

Nike and Under Armour are good.  At that age, make sure you get the TDY size, which is what Pop Warner and AFL use.

05/28/2018 - 10:59am You have to be kidding me

6 months of winter, followed by 3+ of summer than 2-3 of fall.  Getting worse every year.  2 weeks ago, was 58 in the house on a Monday AM, turned on the heat.  2 days later in the 90's and needed the AC.  Forget spring!!

05/27/2018 - 5:30pm Another voice heard from!

I've been in Boston for almost 30 years, moving here after graduation.  Quality of life is tremendous, beaches in the summer, mountains in winter and vibrant city.  Celts, B's, Sox and Pats.  One thing it lacks is a major college sports focus, other than hockey.

The cost of living on the housing front is going to be a major sticker shock.  I live in the 495 area, highway that wraps the Boston metro area and prices are high and moving quick.  Just saw a small ranch go for $435 in my town, would be lucky to fetch $100 where I grew up in Tri City area.  Schools are very good in the burbs, don't have to be in Concord, Brookline, Newton etc... to get a quality education. Excise tax on cars isn't that bad after year 3.

If working in Boston, commuter trains offer a pretty high quality (for the most part) way to get into the city v driving.  Traffic is a friggen nightmare and cost of parking in the city is outrageous.

Boston is tremendous.  Back Bay, Fenway area, Charlestown, South Boston waterfront and Fanueil Hall / North End are great places to visit.

05/22/2018 - 9:10pm If Moeller stays

Tom Brady doesn't go 199! The 99 team was the last of Moeller's classes, loaded and should've won another NC.

05/21/2018 - 10:08am One of the freshman

For some reason I think we're going to be talking about McGrone or Van Sumeran a lot this fall.  McGrone has some depth in front of him, but something is telling me he's going to jump over some people.  Van Sumeran also brings something, guessing that one of the those guys that the ball finds in big moments and makes a play.

Of course the ultimate would be a return of Newsome and approaches the level before he was hurt.

05/15/2018 - 7:44am John Williams is the man!

A great summer night years ago.  Came back to Boston as guest conductor, taking over his former job, and did a tribute to his movie scores.  Jaws, Star Wars, Superman etc..  What a tremendous night!

05/10/2018 - 1:41pm Kareem doesn't get his due!

A couple years ago heard a debate on one of the moron ESPN shows discussing the best NCAA Tournament player in history, most were making a case for Laettner.  I almost threw up!  Kareem and Walton would've destroyed the Duke Puke.

05/10/2018 - 12:52pm MJ all the way!

We wear the Jumpman logo, LBJ supports the buckeyes.  Debate over.

Great story on this subject.  Was riding the train into work and 2 African American guys were having this debate.  Older guy, my age around 50, was pro Jordan. Younger guy, late 20's maybe 30ish, was all in for LeBron.  I was totally enjoying the debate  Finally the older guy guesses that I've listening and enjoying their discussion.  Goes "let's ask this guy."  I respond "please, are you kidding me, not even a discussion."  Older guy goes nuts knowing that just backed him up.

05/08/2018 - 11:24am OMG!!!

TB is usually spot on in terms of his couture.  But this, you have to be kidding me.  Thought his post career was promoting TB12 brand, but based on this, looks like he'll be performing the 8 and 11 shows at The Mirage.  Stick to the Clooney theme and always wear the tux.  Nobody rocks a tux better than Clooney.

Gisele on the other hand, YEAH BABY!!!!

04/20/2018 - 9:02am RIP Earle

My opinion on Earle Bruce changed forever when I watched the HBO Michigan v Ohio State documentary.  At a lunch the day before the 2006 game "we lost a good coach, good man and good father" when asking the attendees to bow their head to acknowlege Bo's passing.  Hopefully he can find Bo and Woody then fire up a projector.

04/14/2018 - 8:21am NE v Michigan???

Growing up in Michigan remember some tremendous storms including 78.  Also remember winter of 81 when it was beyond cold.  However the best has to be 2.5 weeks in 2015 when we received over 100 inches in the Boston area.  That was crazy!

However one of my new pet peeves is the naming of Winter storms like Hurricanes!  When did this start?  Drives me crazy whenever the refer to the "named storm" on Weather Channel.

04/11/2018 - 10:59am DAMN!

I was hoping to hear McCaffery has clearly passed Peters and pushing Patterson.  I have a sneaky feeling that OL is going to be better than we thought.  Remember a couple years ago the Newsome - Bredeson debate for LT?  Newsome starts and pre-injury is looking like the next great M LT heading to the 1st round.  Maybe someone can solve the OL issue by finding the magic cure to get back a pre-injury Newsome back!   The 2 big freshman stories to watch in camp with McGrone pushing for playing time and Van Sumeran.

03/28/2018 - 12:18pm Could listen to Coach Brown all day!!

Would love to sit in on a D meeting listening to him and Coach Matty talk football. What an education for young coaches and grad assistants!  Better, like what he's saying about Kwitty Paye, who's going to be a break out beast this year.  Hope all the positive comments and reference to Hendricken point that big 4*  2019 OL from Warwick RI to Ann Arbor.

03/27/2018 - 10:42am REALLY!!!

Nice to have good news on the 4th string QB who has about as much of a chance of seeing the field as I do this season!  Let's get the due diligence that we really want, how are Patterson and McCaffrey doing?  That's the battle we want to hear about.  Speight coming back or Milton, who cares at this point.

03/13/2018 - 9:00am Another ESPN Dipshit!

Joey's mom must have changed the meat loaf receipe!  Wonder how many trips she makes up and down the stairs to the basement on a daily basis? Bracketologist my ass, just another over hyped ESPN moron who was likely cut from his 6th grade CYO team.  Gee, why do we continue to hemorage viewers?  All the talking head DB's on ESPN make me long for the days of endless Australian Football coverage.

03/05/2018 - 7:25am Bracketology

Joe Lunardi just woke up in mom's basement, fell asleep either watching a west coast game or playing 2k on his Xbox.  Probably dropping Michigan down to a 6 because of the Iowa win!  Maybe it's time that mom changed the meatloaf receipe!!

02/26/2018 - 10:35am Shaq

He clarified that.  Wasn't Shaq, it was Neon Boudeaux who took the $$$!

02/25/2018 - 8:24am Good numbers

But Kyrie absolutely schooled him!

02/24/2018 - 8:00am I miss the days.....

When you tuned into the selection show on CBS for the release of the brackets, then switched over to ESPN for Dickie V and Digger to breakdown the match ups.  Now we have to deal with the endless updates from the dipshit bracketologists like Lunardi, including "quadrant" wins and losses. For 2 weeks, PSU is a team on the rise yada yada yada!  Go in there and give them an old fashioned poiunding, now its a lesser "quadrant" win and impacts the seeding. WTF.

Tired of these blowhearts like Lunardi, someone who looks like he most likely had been cut from a 6th grade travel team, voicing their moronic opinions.  Does it matter, especially this year, if you're a 4-5 or 6?

02/15/2018 - 12:33pm Some Perspective People

This was the youngest or one of teams in D1 last fall.  This isn't hoop where you can replace vets with freshman and hope things keep moving.  Once the OL and QB situations are settled, things will be fine and moving back in the right direction.

02/07/2018 - 2:15pm Loved the show

Where she was a "Massage Therapist", the Client List.  HAPPY days, too bad the show ENDED!  Wish it had been on Netflix!

02/05/2018 - 9:42pm IFFFF

Without the gruesome knee injury to Newsome, we're having a different year 3 discussion. He's healthy and the OL is strong except for RT. Makes all aspects better including QB. One injury had that much of an impact.

02/05/2018 - 11:59am Some of the Boston outlets are also reporting

Schiano will be next DC or at least on the staff with Brian Flores potentially being DC.  Site said he hasn't made up his mind.  After seeing the Pats d last night, he probably has more talent and athletes in Columbus!

01/21/2018 - 2:13pm Game day

Weather is absolutely perfect for football in Foxboro.  Sunny, low 50's and no wind.

01/11/2018 - 10:54pm Interesting

Hopefully Hamilton goes to Oakland with Gruden.  Would like to see Drevno make a move similar to what Mattison did, step back and focus on the OL.  He had a tremendous track record before coming to AA.  Bring in a WR coach, maybe a version of Moore or a vet coach with a track record.  Enos then focuses on QB and is defacto OC with Harbaugh providing much input.  If possible, would like to see Junior shifted into another role and possibly Mike Hart come in to be RB coach.

01/10/2018 - 4:06pm OK

The Gary-Bush 2016 looks good.  2017 shows potential but at least a year away from saying good on the field v recruiting rankings.  2019 is a LONG way off.  However, until the game breakers show up on O at QB, OL and WR, we don't know?  If McCaffrey comes in at QB and is close to Fromm, then 2017 is a huge success.  Same with OL.

For me the most frustrating part of watching Monday was seeing all the guys on both sides that Michigan was in the mix for.  Hand and the 2 RB's for Bama.  Several guys on GA.  These were the players that were going to come to play for Harbaugh and move to the NFL.

01/10/2018 - 1:45pm Sales training

It's not that the staff can't identify talent, recruit talent, but can't close talent on coming to Michigan.  Maybe the recruiting and coaching team needs a sales training class.  Hoping that Harbaugh isn't turning into Pete Bell!!

01/09/2018 - 1:43pm 8 is the right number

But it must be capped at 8, no expansion beyond.  Power 5 conference champions get an automatic with 3 at large.  Seed similar to the NFL in that Conference champions are automatic top 5.  Would suck being the 5 seed and having to go on the road but it is what it is!

Have no opinion on home games v neutral site, including the quarterfinal games.  From an economic standpoint, maybe the quarterfinal games at home stadium with semi and championship games following the same pattern.  I like the fact that the first 10 championship games are going to be at 10 different sites.

01/09/2018 - 8:11am Have a feeling.....

Jalen Hurts deserves all the positive words for the classy way he handled himself during the game, as opposed to the LB on special teams who has some "issues"!

However, being Alabama, something tells me that soon, Hurts is asked to come to a meeting with Saban and Daboll.  Brady Bunch music is playing and stops.  Daboll starts off the conversation with "Let me tell you a story about a man named Brady....."  Back up comes in, shines and is now the man.  Jalen, thanks, here are your transfer papers and don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out!

01/08/2018 - 1:15pm I hate both teams!!!

So how do you pick?  Since it's my birthday, here is what I'd like to see happen!

1. Dumbo Finebaum's ears pop off.  Then he only looks like a walking "dick" instead of a "dick with ears".

2. Dirty Kirby is arrested for under the counter payments to recruits.  Turns in Saban for the same in copping a plea agreement.

3. Massive chaos getting into the stadium.  Aftiva hijacks the Alabama bus on the way to the stadium.

4. ABC / ESPN lose sound so we don't have to listen to Fowler

01/04/2018 - 2:50pm Was thinking the same thing.

Was in Pittsburgh last year when it was announced that Canada was leaving for LSU and they were going crazy.  Working for Big Ed has to be a challenge, great as a temporary placeholder but awful long term.

Remember when he hired Don Brown.  "I consulted with 3 people, Jack Harbaugh, John Harbaugh and Bill Belichick!"  Think BB might be looking for new coordinators himself this time around.

How about the following:  Tom Brady wins #6, announces his retirement and joins the staff as OC / QB coach.  Andrew Luck.  Finds out he has a weaker arm than Chad Pennington, retires and joins the staff. Who knows the offense better than Luck.  Someone needed to throw this BS out there!!!!!!  Perfect thing on a day home in the midst of a blizzard.

01/03/2018 - 2:16pm Couldn't agree more!

I was thinking the exact same thing, especially in regard to Newsome.  Demonstrated that he's a captain by how he stayed around and helped the team this season.  Another year and Winovich definitely helps his draft status.  Guessing the eval came back mid to late rounds.  That's good news for us, especially when we can use some good news.

01/02/2018 - 9:45am A little perspective

Which is hard after watching yesterday.  The 2 biggest problems that I thought Harbaugh would solve and hasn't yet are:

1. QB.  With his reputation thought the top PRO type QB's would be lining up.  To see the quality of the QB play and players this year was horrible.  Speight at his best is a JAG.  O'Korn was a huge disapointment and over his head.  Peters did nothing yesterday to say "I'm the guy!"  Actually think he took a major step back and could be looking up the depth chart next spring / fall. We better hope DCaf or Patterson show up and be D1 QB's to win at this level.

2. OL.  Looked at all the Stanford guys in NFL and thought Drevno would start a pipeline like at here.  Maybe it's in progress with some of the young guys, but so far a major disapointment.  He is definitely not an OC!  Ruiz looks like he has potential.

These must be solved ASAP.

Other issues.

1. Maybe it's the young D being asked to go to the well too often, but seems like play well for 2.5 to 3 quarters then the wheels come off with some big plays.

2. Recruiting.  We have no explosive athletes at RB or WR.  Maybe they are young, but nobody out there that must be accounted for on every play. Whiffing on the big names.

Most likely, it's all inter connected.   Yesterday just felt bad and boring.

12/30/2017 - 6:45pm Maybe next year.....

Go someplace, play well then BB drafts him to eventually replace Brady.   Did I really have that 3rd glass of Cab???

12/24/2017 - 1:37pm Lions v Bengals

I would need several pre-game cocktails just to watch.  Anyone wonder why NFL interest is waining this year???

12/22/2017 - 7:11am The BEST!!

Donated a hugh amount of $$ to CMU to build the baseball complex.  Part of the most underrated trio in sports broadcasting with Al McGuire and Bill PACCker on college hoops.  They did the 78 Magic v Larry game.

12/19/2017 - 4:37pm As Gram used to say:

Wish in one hand and shit in the other, see which one gets filled 1st!  This kid already has his uniform, locker and dorm room at Alabama.  Hard to beat the bag man!

Why do we do this to ourselves every year?  Isn't this the definition of insanity?

12/19/2017 - 4:37pm As Gram used to say:

12/17/2017 - 5:35pm Congrats!

Make Essexville and Bay City proud. Keep hitting that hill at Vets Park.

12/15/2017 - 2:31pm Essexville was buzzing!!…

By the way, a tremendous Bay City suburb!!!

12/15/2017 - 9:04am Daily double.

I'll go for 2000 Alex.  3!

12/11/2017 - 2:43pm I concur!

Now its gonna be fun!  Back to the submarine silence next fall.  However, I can't get Don Brown's McCaffrey comments out of my head and remember him always near Harbaugh on the sidelines.  My guess is Patterson is an upgrade over Rudock, Peters a total upgrade over Rudock, Speight and O'Korn, but for some reason think McCaffrey is Harbaugh's next Luck.  Get a hunch, bet a bunch!!

12/04/2017 - 4:25pm and................

Just look at how many of my players will have records, felonies!  Going to have a Sparty wing at Jackson.  Angry Mark should be approaching Urban Meyer's record in terms of recruiting future felons.

12/04/2017 - 4:21pm Better

Always preferred Bo's "Don't think about F-ing with me, state trooper looking shades"

12/04/2017 - 10:44am Dillon

I live in Boston, get to see BC highlights and even went to Fenway to see them play UMASS.  Dillon was in a great situation there. Local kid, good offense for his skills and most important, immediate PT.  Took advantage of the situation and became a beast.  Yes, would've looked good in Maize and Blue, but we'd probably be talking about him in terms of next year's depth instead of comparing the #'s he put up.

12/03/2017 - 1:15pm DAMN!

Was hoping for the Buckeyes, hate them, but for the theatre of watching Finebaum's ears blow off his head from stress!

11/27/2017 - 10:35pm Yes he can be

Gentry has the ability due to his size and speed to become special.  Maybe like the guy who plays with Brady.....

11/27/2017 - 7:07am I agree

I'm in the camp that McCaffrey is starting in South Bend next September.  15 months in the weight program, he'll be physically ready.  He's been attached to Harbaugh's hip all season for a reason.
