Paul Finebaum's Strong Words for Urban Meyer, video
...Urban Meyer is a fraud.
...I believed in Urban Meyer.
...I was wrong.
There are a lot of victims here. But Urban Meyer is not one of them

Listening to the radio at the game?
Urban breaking 2 of his "core values." That's 40%!
He certainly would have been a bad Moses (or Charlton Heston). Just imagine:
Urban after descending from Mount Sinai: "I have just met with God himself! He has given us 10 core rules to follow in life going forward. These rules are on these tablets. Let me now share these rules with you!"
Two hours later .............
Urban has stolen a bunch of gold, in order to make a golden calf, who he is now calling God, all while having affairs with some other guy's wife.
i'll see that analogy and raise you one. its more like mel brooks as moses in 'history of the world' when he comes down from sinai and busts one of the tablets, "the Lord Jehovah has given to you 15 commandments (drops one, it shatters) oy!....ten. ten commandments for all to obey!"
[insert picture of mel brooks/moses, busting stone tablet....curse you 3.0]

I hate to break it to you but Amazon's ratings are manipulated big time and aren't worth anything.

What Pete should have said: "You can take the coach out of the SEC but you can't take the SEC out of the coach"
August 6th, 2018 at 10:48 PM ^
People across the country are starting to say that the BigTen is the scandal conference...can you blame them?
PSU - Sandusky
MSU - Nassar and the ESPN OTL piece
OSU - SEC North Supreme
August 6th, 2018 at 11:27 PM ^
The Big 10 has indeed been a huge embarrassment, thanks to PSU, MSU, and OSU -- all the land-granty pig-fucker schools. There's no getting around it.

Don't forget the poor basset hounds.

And extra stretching under RR.
Don't forget the wrassler-raper.

I thought his comment today was pretty damn funny and accurate:
"And then, today, I think the betting line in Vegas is now shifting back toward Urban Meyer surviving somehow, whether it’s a two-game or four-game suspension; whether it’s a fine; whether it’s Urban Meyer sitting down with Rece (Davis) or Tom Rinaldi and crying on camera while Shelley looks at him and talks about how he’s the greatest man she’s ever known. You guys can spend plenty of time today coming up with the narrative, but I think we’ve all seen the movie before.”
Yeah its called the 700 Club.
August 6th, 2018 at 10:37 PM ^
So we like him now?
August 6th, 2018 at 11:36 PM ^
God, no. Even though what he said was technically correct, I still have the urge to yell at him to shut the hell up.
Oh well. At least him taking time away from kissing all the Nick Saban posters on his bedroom wall to p*ss off Buckeye fans isn't a total loss.
August 7th, 2018 at 11:57 AM ^
Just for today.....he's got until midnight.
August 6th, 2018 at 10:38 PM ^
Well this is certainly something from Finebaum I can stomach
August 6th, 2018 at 10:43 PM ^
This just settles the fact that Urbz will be back sooner rather than later....
August 6th, 2018 at 10:57 PM ^
But But ZACH SMITH WAS NEVER CHARGED!!!
- OSU fans trying to justify backing Urban.
"Even though Urban has run terribly dirty and corrupt programs at every stop, enabling dozen of criminals both on the field and in his coaches room we all attribute our entire self-worth with the success of this football team. So we have no choice but to back this piece of shit or our entire identity goes extinct. Now watch me spell OSU with my arms."
- every OSU fan at the rally today
August 6th, 2018 at 11:15 PM ^
Best comment of the day.
Sept 1 can't come soon enough!
ESPN says there was 100 fans at the "rally". Does that even count as a rally?
100? Wow. If their objective was to demonstrate to the OSU administration that firing Meyer will incense the fanbase, with such a low turnout I'd say they had the opposite effect.
Wow 100! Was the guy on the cowboy hat and the bald guys with nuts around his neck there???
Cowboy was the first O. The nut guys were H and I. And the last O was Zach Smith.
Ezekiel Elliott's father showed up. You'd think that would draw some more fans.
August 6th, 2018 at 11:10 PM ^
Honestly, at this point does Urban himself even want to come back? He's getting crucified in the press, and if he comes out of this with his job (which I guess seems likely-ish right now), it'll mostly be because he strong-armed his way into staying by publicly throwing his bosses under the bus while admitting he blatantly and deliberately lied several times to the press. Everything he does now will be under an even bigger microscope, and you can bet that as soon as OSU loses a game this year, his own hysterical fan base will start bringing this up against him.
I guess his own personal hubris might compel him to want to stay, but at this point it likely isn't going to be the same for him after this.
August 6th, 2018 at 11:19 PM ^
A majority of college football fans will forget this quickly. ESPN will praise Meyer and OSU for “fighting through adversity” if he comes back and they have a good season. A Big Ten title will be a testament to his leadership and coaching ability.
August 6th, 2018 at 11:32 PM ^
maybe he'll write another book about overcoming that adversity Erik?
August 6th, 2018 at 11:34 PM ^
That seems like a reasonable bet.
August 6th, 2018 at 11:48 PM ^
No doubt that the Healing will start soon.
Amirite james franklin???
August 6th, 2018 at 11:53 PM ^
7 million annual reasons why he won't resign.
He will be coaching this year, unless the media really ups the pressure and if that was going to happen it probably already would have. If they don't have a great season and cap it off with a loss on the last game...... those adoring fans will change their tune and urbs will retire for medical, personal or family reasons.
August 6th, 2018 at 11:46 PM ^
Glad that BTN didn't hire him!

Wonder if this man would say the same thing if it involved Saban...
Not like any of this, or all of these threads, are going to mean much. I'd be shocked if OSU did anything more than a non-conference game suspension or a fine. Too many people care about winning, morals be damned.
Stalin also had some strong words for Hitler.
If this had happened in AA and the coach was JJH, the walking - talking DICK WITH EARS, would be like a rapid dog on MSDNC going after the latest Trump tweet. He'd be on 24-7 demanding his firing or resignation regardless of the evidence. Hell, the DICK WITH EARS would want Harbaugh fired if he was caught throwing gum on the street!
One would think...that after this stuff with Meyer, pundits like Finebaum and Cowherd and even Rome, would assauge their misguided angst toward Harbaugh realizing what's really important...even further I'd imagine theyd praise him for being so clean .
I fully expect at least one of them to make some reference to Harbaughs silly antics but how straight he is, and that's what's really important .
Cowherd generally praises Harbaugh.

+1 for "assuage, misguided, and angst in the same sentence"
Not my favorite guy. That being said, a stopped clock is right twice a day.
Liar, Lair, buckeye on fire.
I think he resembles Beaker(muppet family) a little more than a P head!!!
he's only jumping on urb because he can make the argument that urb is a bigger douche than he is.....
grading on the curve, finebaum moves up a notch due to ol' chinless in columbus
August 7th, 2018 at 11:26 AM ^
Whatever, I have to wonder if Pete/Paul would attack Meyer like that if he still coached in the SEC.
August 7th, 2018 at 11:42 AM ^
The enemy of my enemies is now an enemy of those enemies. Just like the Good (Michigan), the Bad (Ohio State) and the Ugly (Finebaum)
August 7th, 2018 at 11:47 AM ^
Solid piece by Finebaum, who isn't my favorite. I admire that he took a stance and it was strong.
