Honestly believing that the…

Honestly believing that the protests/riots had no impact on Covid spread requires some truly staggering mental gymnastics. If that were really true, then there would be zero issue with reopening Michigan Stadium at full capacity in the fall, as long as everyone was required to wear a mask. Those reports defy any type of common sense and are probably causing more people to conclude that social distancing doesn't really matter.

Uh, of course that's what I…

Uh, of course that's what I'm saying. Star player sits on the bench, the team loses a big game, coaches lose their jobs. You think they won't talk themselves into putting off quarantine for a week or two in order to win? When players start testing positive, it'll be near impossible to say exactly where/when they got it and who gave it to them.

Oh, teams will fake or hide…

Oh, teams will fake or hide those test results. You think OSU is putting Justin Fields on the bench for the Michigan game because he tested positive and is asymptomatic? We might see a team do it prior to a couple cupcake games to show how compliant they are with testing, but never for a big game.

The Outpost by Jake Tapper…

The Outpost by Jake Tapper is a great one that I'm reading now. It's been made into a feature film that's releasing tomorrow.

This Iowa situation is…

This Iowa situation is becoming really interesting.  Some inappropriate things clearly seemed to have happened, I'm just curious how far it went, and how it compares to other major programs around the country.  Kirk Ferentz has run one of the most stable and consistent programs in the country for a couple decades now, and it seems like that'd be hard to do at a place like Iowa if your football building was a cesspool of racial intolerance, but I guess we'll see soon enough.

Just as long as the don't…

Just as long as they don't change the name for the Civil ConFLiCT rivalry, I'm good.

Our current behavior, though…

Our current behavior, though not ideal, is still way better than it was in mid-late March when this thing was first spreading and almost no one was wearing a mask or social distancing. Hell, I was riding a packed commuter train in a major city up until the day before the governor shut our state down, I didn't see a single person taking any precautions then.

Given how many more people take it seriously now (even if it's not everyone), I doubt we hit any apocalypse scenarios or infect over half the country.

How random is it that…

How random is it that Wisconsin won the B1G this year? I keep forgetting that actually happened.

So, it'll go from 100,000 to…

So, it'll go from 100,000 to 95,000?

They likely measure it in…

They likely measure it in exposure, or impressions (a favored metric of ad agencies). Some brand manager at Chevy can make the case that the brand had close to 4.7 billion impressions because roughly that many people watch the Premier League every year, and they're on Manchester United's jersey.

Yeah, the odds were…

Yeah, the odds were definitely higher that he was going to pick flowers, you're absolutely right.  Oh well, the city of Atlanta's getting its wish now, a police-less society.  Best of luck to everyone there.

The guy who just…

The guy who just successfully fought and stole a police officer's taser was going to go take a nap behind a tree? Much more likely to carjack someone with the taser and then kill an innocent family while drunkenly rampaging through town. Nah, should have just let him run away though, he was just a harmless dude having a little fun after one too many beers.

That's actually brilliant…

That's actually brilliant marketing on their part.  Hopefully OJ himself notices and gets pissed about it, it'll be trending on Twitter and give the launch more free publicity.

"...it makes no sense to…

"...it makes no sense to compare Michigan to programs in the south because it is a “waste of time.”

Jesus Christ, man.  Michigan needs to start using the damn money cannon to fix this.  It can be done.

I mean, I can understand why…

I mean, I can understand why coaches would want to know how a player got a Camaro or BMW all of a sudden, especially if you're trying to run a clean program.

Seems like the strength coach was a meathead who was trying to be funny but missed the mark too many times.

Got it, thanks!

Got it, thanks!

Every ticket holder will be…

Every ticket holder will be demanding one or both of Wisconsin and PSU, and will be (rightfully) furious if they don't get them. All these years of donations and paying for these tickets, you're not sticking me with Arkansas State and Maryland.

Can you post a link to the…

Can you post a link to the page where the available seats are shown? Been scouring the pages I've seen and can't find it...

Yeah, as a pro athlete and …

Yeah, as a pro athlete and (sort of) celebrity, you need to be hyper aware of anything you put in a text or tweet.  Clearly whoever he was texting wasn't that close of a friend, otherwise I would assume she'd ask for a clarification, or say something like "hey, that's not a cool thing to say" and move on.  Definitely seems like she was searching for some attention of her own by putting him on blast like that.  Either way, powerful lesson learned for Jake Fromm today.

Well, all I know is that…

Well, all I know is that everytime I complain about season ticket price increases, people on this blog make it abundantly clear that my money has no real meaning to the AD, so I'm not sure what to believe anymore.

The money we pay for season…

The money we pay for season tickets (unless you have club or box seats) is just extra pocket change for the Athletic Department, and they charge according to supply and demand. The real money comes from TV and apparel deals.

How do you know those states…

How do you know those states are "drastically underreporting both cases and deaths."? MSNBC tell you that? Do you also think the U.S. actually has more Covid deaths than China, too?

Yeah, but UM alums generally…

Yeah, but UM alums generally know how to invest their money wisely, and Michigan football isn't exactly a great investment, especially since the athletic department's made it abundantly clear that they'll never do what it takes to get on equal footing with OSU (despite what that stupid video played before every game says about "competing for national championships").  Show that the thousands we spend every season will actually go toward a championship and people won't be so hesitant to pay up.

If you chose the installment…

If you chose the installment plan, the second payment was due June 30th, and third on July 31st.  Doubt any of that is really going to matter, unfortunately.

Curious to see if they're still doing seat upgrades this year.  With a lot of people dropping, deferring payment due to Covid, this might be a good year to try to move to a better section.

Unfortunately, Patterson's…

Unfortunately, Patterson's drop rate (on shotgun snaps) was also bad in big games.

Honestly...yeah, why not?

Honestly...yeah, why not?

I'm fine with Michigan just…

I'm fine with Michigan just not playing, even if SEC + OSU do. I've gotten really into the Bundesliga the last couple weeks, which will be back in the Fall. Also don't have to deal with Michigan losing 4-5 games and getting absolutely dumptrucked in the horseshoe this year, and the refund on my season ticket payment will be like a mini tax return. Wins all around as far as I'm concerned.

Need to add Mustard Plug to that top five ska bands list!

I'd go with Saving Private…

I'd go with Saving Private Ryan for Memorial Day. The way that it starts and ends in the cemetary in Normandy helps drive home the sacrifice those guys made back then.

I mean, I'm at the point…

I mean, I'm at the point where I would probably volunteer to donate a pinkie toe toward the digit-sacrificing cause if that gets us a win.

ND had also said they'll…

ND had also said they'll probably have fans in the stands for football games, just likely not at full capacity.

Eintracht Frankfurt. They…

Eintracht Frankfurt. They have a big, loyal following that they constantly disappoint, lots of trophies won a long time ago, and they win just enough to occasionally make you happy, but ultimately leave you very unsatisfied.

Great seeing my Eagles …

Great seeing my Eagles (Eintracht Frankfurt) back in action today. Result so far not very good, though.

The home schedule's dogshit…

The home schedule's dogshit this year anyway. Already planning on just getting my refund for this year.

Hopefully we can get Iowa State's coach to come to Ann Arbor soon.

Full Metal Jacket, an absolute classic adapted from the solid short novel "The Short Timers."

When the Game Stands Tall was a pretty lame adaptation of the book of the same name.

Don't forget our All…

Don't forget our All American cornerback getting absolutely posterized on the biggest play of the game. If that doesn't sum up Michigan football the last 20 years or so, I don't know what does.

Seems like a bad move by the Bengals. This year's rookie class is going to be the least prepared in recent memory, and now you're locked into starting an under-prepared rookie. Could be a disaster if you destroy his confidence early on.

I prefer the Stones, but…

I prefer the Stones, but damn if it isn't a blast to be hammered drunk in a bar and sing the last part of Hey Jude with a big group.

I think NFL teams are…

I think NFL teams are probably looking for quarterbacks who don't fumble snaps or trip over their own feet in big games.

There has never been…

There has never been anything like the 90's Bulls. It was such a great time to grow up as a basketball fan.

It's hard to compare eras, but the way today's players flop and whine for fouls is just hard to respect. That being said, last year's playoffs were the best in years and a blast to watch.

2008 Northwestern, stayed til the last second ticked off and earned my Fandom Endurance III Badge on day one.

Always a really good sign…

Always a really good sign when almost every recruit who commits has to be defended in some way. The long, slow death of the Harbaugh era.

Eh, sometimes you have to…

Eh, sometimes you have to get into shootouts to win. Bama won a national title against Clemson like that, and OSU under Urban won a bunch of games like that. If Michigan ever beats OSU again, it'll probably be some 65-64 type scoring marathon.

Green Bay is getting roasted…

Green Bay is getting roasted for taking Jordan Love, but that could turn out to be a huge steal in a few years.
