DL is really talented but the talent is also really young. They'll be a huge pain in a season or two.

09/21/2018 - 6:17am If someone is going and…

If someone is going and could record this or a portion of it, that would be so awesome Sounds like a very cool event.

09/20/2018 - 3:46am I generally agree with you,…

I generally agree with you, but on the other hand, how does teams like 'Bama get away with it?

09/20/2018 - 3:06am I don't want to get everyone…

I don't want to get everyone worked up, but board contributors seem to keep forgetting 5 star Quavaris Crouch, who allegedly has us tied with Tennessee. I mean, I like those odds.

09/20/2018 - 2:57am Look, the delivery is very…

Look, the delivery is very rough, but the info is dead on. That coach is on the record as having no beef with Michigan.

09/20/2018 - 2:49am I'm with you. He went out of…

I'm with you. He went out of his way to insult the coaches and staff. It's one thing to say, 'this place isn't for me,' but what he did was quite another.I like candor from high school students. But this seemed like an intentional dig without any substance, so I guess I want candor with at least a dash of maturity.

09/19/2018 - 4:21am Karlaftis--Oddly, I think he…

Karlaftis--Oddly, I think he's more likely to stick with Purdue because the concern was that Brohm is a flight risk with a good season.

Harrison--No idea. Posters on here think it's PSU if it's not OSU based on what some recruiting folks say. I think Michigan has a great shot at him.

Ford--I thought he was all USC, but their terrible season, in my opinion, puts Helton on the hot seat. Also, he's competing against a 5-star WR who is playing with his former high school QB. If he actually gets on campus, I could see it happening.

Cine--From what I'm reading, he's all UGA. But again, a strong season could change the narrative. Michigan is getting negatively recruited on their performance, I think.

09/18/2018 - 2:36am This was my point. I'll wait…

This was my point. I'll wait for the UFR, but I'm pretty sure Proche was burning Metellus for a good number of his receptions.

I don't understand the reasoning, here.

09/18/2018 - 2:18am Honestly, I think these kids…

Honestly, I think these kids really want to go to Michigan, but they also need to go to a successful program. For Michigan, I think that means sealing the deal on some of the big games--even going to CFP.

I could see Michigan pitching Hill on the strength of that SMU game, even. Michigan could say, "We keep getting beat by Proche, and who is he beating?" The answer, at least a couple of times, was a safety. It's a place where an upgrade in talent could make a real difference.

Why do you think Dax is wishful thinking?

09/17/2018 - 7:58am To be honest, these are…

To be honest, these are solid reasons to be skeptical. I'm going to search out Wiltfong's comments.

09/17/2018 - 7:48am I agree with the part about…

I agree with the part about Michigan's struggles. Things aren't yet clicking into place, unfortunately. But the kids are usually pretty hype, I think.

09/17/2018 - 7:35am In one of the previous…

No problem; it's my pleasure.

In one of the previous updates, Harrison is on record calling OSU's Johnson the 'best.' It's a tight competition all around, though for a guy who doesn't like the spotlight/attention, I could see him going to Michigan/PSU just to get away from it all.

09/17/2018 - 7:33am How do you figure?

How do you figure?

Could the delay in announcing his decision + early enrollment be a positive factor in avoiding the hometown pressure? He could sign, bail his hometown, and enroll in a matter of weeks.

Edit: Your hostility towards the women who gave British people birth is saddening.

09/15/2018 - 8:32am Very interesting. Everyone…

Very interesting. Everyone besides Hill in the 2019 class that is visiting has committed, and Dax has mentioned the importance of relationships with other recruits in his previous interviews. Cade in particular has been recruiting him hard for the class. Fantastic.

The kid's twitter shows me someone who has passion and an incredible work ethic. He's an inspiring follow. Here's the link.

Good point, though I'm hoping the scarlet letter allows users to steer clear of jokers. I also like the mute button idea.

09/13/2018 - 8:52am If this site gets money…

If this site gets money through clicks, and if the board is the source of many of those clicks, in a weird way, trolls are trolling themselves by helping the site.

To retain the benefits they bring to MGoBlog, but make sure they're known to the board, I suggest a 'scarlet letter' of sorts from accounts with known IP addresses.

I'd prefer to put very little on film and still smoke SMU because of a talent disparity.

09/13/2018 - 2:20am Great find. The full…

Great find. The full interview in context shows that the Hudson quotation from the article was not unprompted. For some reason, the media members present were just more focused on Hudson during the portion of the interview where they're talking about tackles.

09/12/2018 - 4:28pm That quotation at the bottom…

That quotation at the bottom of the article makes it sound like that in isolation, but without the full interview, I'm not sure if what he said was narrowed by a specific question about Hudson.

I'm just waiting on the offense UFR to settle a twitter argument.

09/11/2018 - 10:24am By the time Northwestern…

By the time Northwestern rolls around, I think we'll know. The ramp-up in D quality from SMU to Nebraska to NW is a manageable one to get some guys ready, in my view. Playing against Western's 2nd string isn't a good situation, in my eyes.

Great news for Michigan; bad news for Seth's fingers.

09/10/2018 - 2:14am I knew a guy who actually…

I knew a guy who actually shed tears when Brandon Graham graduated because he was upset with the state of the program and how much Graham's talent was wasted.

Shea is super-talented, and he's already making a difference. I just hope Michigan gets this o-line situation together to take advantage of his talent.

09/09/2018 - 8:35am I watched the game, and this…

A couple of handoffs in garbage time?

09/07/2018 - 3:09am Great stuff, man. I left…

Great stuff, man. I left feeling worse about Ruiz, better about JBB, and about the same as Runyan (which wasn't good).

I came here to write this. I think Anderson was another casualty of the Drevno transition.

We really need to be able to vote on threads.

09/05/2018 - 7:23am I don't think that's the…

I don't think that's the same thing. The guy critiques the line's play and connects it to running output with that sentence. He doesn't discuss how it hamstrung the entire offense into a very conservative approach.

09/04/2018 - 3:49am What do you think about the…

What do you think about the Northwestern and Maryland games, which are right before Wisconsin? I believe the strength of the Northwestern defense is the DL, and Maryland definitely looks competent.

09/04/2018 - 3:43am At this point, what can even…

At this point, what can even be done from a personnel perspective? Harbaugh brought in the OL whisperer, and this is the best Michigan could come up with. Given the crummy performance, I don't think the coaches would start Runyan and JBB if there were other options.

I'm pretty sure the only real options are schematic: emphasizing the things Michigan can do well and trying to work around what sucks.

09/03/2018 - 7:25am I don't mind the loss. I'm…

I don't mind the loss. I'm concerned about the systemic issues it may have uncovered. Of all the games Michigan could lose, ND was probably the best--only one score to tie against a ranked opponent on the road at night. It's a game with no impact on the conference outcome.

But the OL issues. And the playcalling. And the clock management. And the...defense? This stuff isn't going away, and with the same issues, it's hard to expect anything but the same results. That's why 10-2 seems impossible, right now.

09/03/2018 - 2:00am Best wishes to your mum,…

Best wishes to your mum, buddy. Tough sledding, but I like how you're keeping that chin up.

I think this is a great idea, but here's why I doubt it: ND is separated on the schedule from a team with a pulse (Northwestern) by at least several weeks. Assuming the bag of tricks is deep enough, they could've pulled out all the bells and whistles and used the next several weeks to add more.

09/02/2018 - 10:57am It's really hard to argue…

It's really hard to argue against coaching malfeasance. The play calls were weird. The kids didn't look prepared, starting with the OL. Clock management at the end was atrocious. Top to bottom, it was a downer.

Higdon gets a handoff and runs up the middle for a couple. Announcer immediately calls it an RPO.

I was genuinely excited and hopeful for the season before reading this.

After the 10.a podcast, I'm genuinely worried about the tackles. I'm putting off reading about them, too.

08/30/2018 - 2:09am Tennessee winning does…

Tennessee winning does nothing for Michigan this year, I'm pretty sure. However, if the program looks like it is falling apart, maybe Michigan's chances with Quavaris Crouch improve a great deal.

08/30/2018 - 2:07am They'll probably look…

They'll probably look terrible in the first half and then uncork some stuff in the 2nd half that makes them overall look worse than they'll play against Michigan.

08/30/2018 - 2:05am Most years I'd have…

Most years I'd have something to say about SOS, but 1) the playoff committee doesn't care and 2) even if they did, the rest of the schedule is sufficiently brutal as to not really matter.

08/30/2018 - 2:03am What a terrible offseason…

What a terrible offseason for Wisco. Minus some running back issues, they're usually much more stable than this.

That's great news. I was especially wondering when Schoenle would earn a scholly, as he has been a real contributor.
