who cares?  except for maybe one of those OTs, UM has done pretty well at those other positions.  i will trust the coaches and their evals here.

06/26/2018 - 3:18am evidence?  else this is some…

evidence?  else this is some crazy BS.

06/20/2018 - 2:02am henne was plenty good.  held…

henne was plenty good.  held back by awful playcalling mostly, imo, and serious shoulder injury his senior year.  he had to win the game at IL when he wasn't supposed to play, because mallett couldn't even take a snap w/o fumbling.

also, mike hart was great, but henne was often left with many 3rd and longs when hart was stuffed on consecutive off tackle plays.  then it became "ok, chad, make a play here".  if lloyd and co realized the talent he had in the passing game, there would have been many more of those spread and shred games like henne had against Fla in lloyd's (and henne's) final game.

06/19/2018 - 3:06pm henson hardly played his…

henson hardly played his frosh year.  it was his soph year when the voices grew louder; and i was one of them too.  that said, henson had the best year that i ever saw at QB at UM in 2000.

06/19/2018 - 12:39pm Steele - you don't give him…

Steele - you don't give him nearly enough credit.  I take him over Gary any day; unless Gary really blows up this year.

06/17/2018 - 8:54pm happy valley wouldn't be…

happy valley wouldn't be anywhere near the top of my places to "see the world".

06/13/2018 - 7:46pm well, it is a state school…

well, it is a state school supported by state tax dollars, so preference obviously should be given to in-state students.

06/13/2018 - 10:44am agree on stewart.  i see him…

agree on stewart.  i see him getting the Sept call-up and playing a lot after that.

06/12/2018 - 2:38pm this is correct.  tickets…

this is correct.  tickets aren't as easy to come by as they used to be for UM-NW.  i've lived in Chi for 20 years.  in fact, i was shut out in 2010(?).  there were literally no scalpers at the stadium and stubhub prices were very high.

UM seats suck; corner of the upper deck.  I would recommend buying through NW or pay a few extra bucks and get them on stubhub.

06/03/2018 - 11:04pm 2016

speight's shoulder was shot.  there was no backup option.  we crush osu with a healthy speight that game.  he couldn't even throw the ball more than 20 yds.

we beat osu again this year with a healthy speight or peters, for that matter.

06/01/2018 - 6:03pm huh?

is that gores or booger from revenge of the nerds?

06/01/2018 - 6:00pm JB's system

have you watched golden state?

06/01/2018 - 5:58pm idk

he could actually go out and acquire players that best fit his system through the draft, trades or free agency.  currently, he has to battle for recruits, and often unexepectedly loses them early to the nba.

i think he and kerr have had several meetings and coach similar styles.  JB could be every bit as good as kerr.  who knows, maybe some of the piston players would actually get better under his watch.

but, by god, i hope he stays.

05/30/2018 - 1:09pm and

then the title IX lawsuits follow...

05/30/2018 - 12:27pm well

i would take him over the guy the pistons drafted in the first round this past year

05/30/2018 - 12:22pm weather

most miserable game i've ever attended.  started out drizzly near 50.  ended with temps in the 20s and wind chills near zero.

purdue didn't cross mid field the entire game...until their final possession.  i was dreading a last minute TD from purdue.

05/30/2018 - 11:50am well

matthews actually has a decent looking shot, unlike simpson.  i think more and more reps improves his %.  he's a first rounder if he gets that 3 point % near 40.

05/29/2018 - 1:01pm Bama

is about the last team to complain about non-conf schedules.

05/29/2018 - 12:59pm well

considering our recent history, i would guess it is UM's AD that would move the home game to soldier field in 2019.

05/23/2018 - 9:49am no

i was arguing your point that UM plays for a nat'l title in the rose bowl with a TIE at home against msu on their record.

no way.

05/23/2018 - 3:17am imo

Mo keeps his job if he doesn't lose 4 games each of the preceding two years.  iirc, Mo was fired before Bo got to weigh in.  and Bo was pissed at the decision to fire Mo.

05/23/2018 - 3:10am iirc

carr wanted to retire after 2006.  the AD begged him to stay for 2007.  there was plenty of time to plan a succession.

05/23/2018 - 3:06am lloyd

better HC than DC.  think his offense was conservative?  his D as DC was moreso.  though, Bo may have directed that.

we lost so many games with the old bend don't break D with a lead.

05/23/2018 - 2:54am glen steele

was nearly as  dominant as woodson on D.  they didn't need to blitz because he constantly put pressure on the QB.  he doesn't get enough credit.

steele pressuring QBs and woodson covering half the d backfield = incredible D.

05/23/2018 - 2:43am seriously?

a tie at home to msu drops UM in the polls a few spots.  no doubt about it.  anyone with balls goes for the win there.  and UM got screwed.

05/22/2018 - 5:29pm well

i wouldn't laugh too much yet until he actually shows up on campus at depaul.

05/21/2018 - 5:37pm it's about the players

ray got them.  joey didn't.  joey didn't play "the recruitin game".  the chicago coaches locked joey out.  and i would wager that joey was the true coach of those successful depaul teams late in ray's tenure.

05/21/2018 - 5:22pm depaul

is in the center of a great city with a ton to do.  and depaul just built a brand new facility, though i haven't been in it yet.

imo, the fact depaul didn't have a facility kept that program down; traveling to o'hare for games would absolutely suck.

though the new facility is not on campus, it has to be a huge upgrade.

05/21/2018 - 12:11am cuckoo's nest

is easily my all time favorite movie

05/21/2018 - 12:07am very

05/21/2018 - 12:03am also

considering when they were made; early 30s when talkies were new, the original king kong and frankenstein were pretty damn good.  even the original godzilla was good.

suspicion was also another favorite hitchcock of mine.

05/20/2018 - 11:59pm obviously

most of my favorites have been listed but a few i didn't see here:

cool hand luke - best newman movie

outlaw josie wales - my favorite eastwood movie

rebecca - one of my favorite hitchcock movies; rear window was mentioned above

papillon - mcqueen and hoffman were awesome; very long though

05/16/2018 - 10:11pm RR

inherited a worse OL than hoke or harbaugh.

05/15/2018 - 4:36pm agree

compare caris levert when he arrived vs when he left.  is camp sanderson all about steroids?

05/13/2018 - 3:51pm true

but john navarre as a senior >>>>>> soph.  nobody would have thought he had a chance in the nfl after his soph or even jr season.

05/09/2018 - 12:13pm family game

there are a few cheapie games every year on the schedule to take a family to; easily for $25 a ticket or less.

05/09/2018 - 12:06pm hmmm

meals are still 50% deductible.  wonder if UM could reduce the cost of the luxury box tickets, etc but raise the cost of food/drinks and have a minimum on food/drink purchases to make up the difference.

05/09/2018 - 11:56am also

don't minimize the impact of HD tv.

05/07/2018 - 3:56pm uh oh

izzo has a path out of EL now with an excuse.

05/01/2018 - 6:01pm upstairs

listened to live music upstairs many times.  oops my bad.  that was the heidelberg.

05/01/2018 - 5:57pm burrito

yes!  weird, but that was our go to place for the huge burrito.

05/01/2018 - 5:49pm Mr. Floods

way back when.  one of the few live music bars back then.  used to go in for happy hour (to avoid the cover charge), listen to los chickens, then whoever played that nite (ie. george bedard and the king pins, tracy lee and the leonards, et al).  them were the days.

05/01/2018 - 11:29am well

i found 2016 to be quite fun.  the cubs finally have ownership that cares about winning.  i will take winning over unabated rooftop access to viewing.

05/01/2018 - 11:25am i don't have all of the facts

and going from memory, however, for many years, before Ricketts, the cubs have tried to expand the bleachers.  plans they submitted to the city meant blocking rooftop views; all of which had a free ride at the time.  no rooftop revenue was going to the cubs.  my personal opinion is that rooftop owners had zero rights to free access to cub viewing.

the plans were rejected by the city on the basis that new designs were an "eyesore".  i laughed at this considering that having bleachers constructed on rooftops were not deemed to be an eyesore.  Then, low and behold, it was found out that the local alderman had ownership in some of the rooftops; shocking i know, here in chicago.

so the bleacher expansion plans were scrapped.  the cubs and rooftop owners struck a deal, so the rooftops had to pay a % of their take to the cubs.  i don't know how long the contract was.

Ricketts came in and bought the team.  he then put the bleacher expansion back on the table; including the jumbo trons which blocked views.  he then starting buying the buildings with the blocked views.

so there still is likely an agreement still out there with some of the rooftop owners, but i think there are only a few non-cub owned rooftops left.  i have noticed in recent years, that rooftop ticket sales are tanking big time.  many empty seats and many games where there is anyone on some of those rooftops.  me thinks these rooftop owners are out for some new free money with this lawsuit.  hope it gets tossed.

04/30/2018 - 11:24am yes

the vitriol both rec'd is comparable.  navarre, though, had a great senior season and finally shut people up.

04/29/2018 - 11:02pm lol wut?

he played well against PU.  but he absolutely sucked against OSU and MSU.  that said, he was the best we had at the moment, so i don't bash guys for that.  just like navarre got so much heat during his career.  not his fault, the alternative was worse.

04/28/2018 - 2:14pm ya

i don't get this free fall.  i mean even he doesn't pan out, are people going to say 5 years from now "damn, i can't believe we wasted a 3rd round pick on hurst".  yet, his upside is huge.  he's the best DT i've ever seen here at UM, let alone almost everywhere else, and i go back a ways.

here's to hoping for a long and healthy career for Mo.

04/28/2018 - 1:25pm let's see

what's not to like?

#1 - reach

#2 - reach

#3 - reach

#4 - reach

that said, i don't mind the ragnow pick.  the rest...blah bordering bad.

04/26/2018 - 3:38pm agree

please take the best available OL or DL

04/26/2018 - 3:29pm uh

williams, self and calipari can't coach a lick.  they would be nothing without the bagmen.
