Borges, confident that the special teams couldn't possibly show up his stellar offense by doing something like performing, was actualy on his way down to the locker with 13 seconds left in the game. Miraculously (for us) he became stuck in the elevator and Hecklinski was actually calling the shots during OT.

Bama's degree requirments for Civil Engineering involve demonstrating that you can dig a hole and hammer a nail. I sure he will have plenty of time left over for football.

If the coaching staff is going to complain week after week about youth and the inability to execute, then I would like the coaching staff to develop a gameplan that they think their players are capable of executing. Youth and inexperience are perfectly valid excuses for failing to execute, but if that's the case it's up to the coaches to come up with something this team can execute which so far, against reasonable competition, has been nothing.
It feels to me like they are developing their ideal gameplan irrespective of their player's capabilities and looking at games as learning opportunities rather than contests to be won. Regular season is not the time to be asking your players to execute beyond their capabilities.

I say until they can run into an 11 man box, they just need to keep pounding it. Earn the right to pass!

Wait, you mean you can run a two minutes drill at the end of the half? After Saturday I thought there was some kind of rule against that sort of thing. That, or perhaps the coaches don't understand that you don't really need a full two minutes to run a two minute drill.

In virtually every case he means coaching the player's technique and execution. He never means game strategy and tactics. He needs to own up to failed execution on the part of the coaches for this game.

The things that pisses me off, and will continue to all week through the coaches press conferences is that not one of them will own up to losing the game as coaches. We will hear lots of talk about turnovers and dumb penalties but not one finger will point back at themselves. cowards

The coaches deserved o lose. The players deserved better. Though not great, they played well enough to win, but the coaches gave the game away time and time again at the end

I stopped by to talk to the current Navy leadership there when I was in town for the Notre Dame game and was told the same story. Additionally was told that the University's initial offer was to relocate them to Bursley Hall which they lead me to believe is scheduled to be closed as a dorm. After some discussion they were able to convince the adminisration that this would effectively kill the ROTC program and they are currently unsure of where they will end up.
I was also told that the building has been in the University's five year plan to be torn down sinc the 70's and as a result essentially no money has been allocated for upkeep for the last 40 years. Given that little has changed in the building since I was a Navy ROTC there in the early 80's I tend to believe that story.
