Here's some crazy coincidences and similarities with the 1997 and 2023 National Champions.

- Won Title in the last year of Championship system (one year before BCS and one year before Playoff Expansion)

- Beat PAC 10 team from the state of Washington to win the Championship

- Beat Ohio St by 6 points

- Lead by a player wearing the number 2

Our last national championship was my junior year in high school.  It sealed my interest in leaving Indiana to go to Michigan. My oldest son is a junior in high school.  We live in Indiana. He wants to go to Michigan - now more than ever.  Go blue.

More crazy coincidences.

My whole life I always said “I’ll never move to Ohio.”

Born and raised in AA, lived all over SW Michigan, lived in Canada, Tennessee, Indiana, coastal cities on both oceans.

I took a job in Ohio a few years back, uprooting after 12 years in Kalamazoo, MI. Since I took that job:

3-0 against An Ohio state

3-0 B1G champs

Reigning, defending, undisputed National Champs.

my sacrifice was worth it. you’re welcome

Tangential, but someone elsewhere brought this up.

First CFP final in this format - OSU over Oregon by 22 in Dallas

Final CFP final in this format - UM over Washington by 21 in Houston

No coincidence here.

1997 was the season after my grandpa passed away and yesterday would have been his 100th birthday.  The last conversation we had on 11/28/1996 started with him saying "Michigan won one for ya" in regard to the 13-9 game that year.  The only time in my 13 years that I had ever known grandpa to care about a football game.  Rest in peace Old #5 (He was a baseball pitcher and point guard)

My crazy coincidence … Michigan has won two National Championships in my lifetime and I was out of the country for both of them.

(and I typically do not travel in early Jan)

My personal coincidence-IM 38 now, so I was 12 last time we won it all. My boys are 12 and 13 right now. I also wore the Woodson jersey I purchased from Mden in 1997 last night! Still in great shape and fits (i bought it big).

If Indiana, DeBoer, and Pennix don't beat Michigan in 2020, Harbaugh may not have hired new assistants, particularly McDonald as DC and promoting Moore to OL coach.   They had a part in creating what would become Team 144.

Last night doesn't happen without the "dark place" pain of 2020....
