FiveThirtyEight Article on Election Day: "Why CF world Sleeping on Ohio State?"

It's a short article.

But it is also abundantly clear Ohio State is no longer the spread and shred buzz-saw it was under Urban Meyer, which featured a lot more option quarterback runs.

What the hell is this crap?  Seriously.  The majority of the media has already given Stroud the Heisman.  I don't think they've been out of the top four all season.  Commentators can't talk about you without at least one orgasm per sentence.  Heck, Gus Johnson's nickname for you is 'World Famous.'

This article sounds too much like Dantonio.  You're getting tons of respect yet it's still not enough.

They're sleeping on OSU because OSU was off to a similarly dominant start last year and then watched that team get punched in the face and not know how to handle any adversity (or snow).

PSU and NW punched them in the face this season (granted NW's punch was more like a jab) and we've now seen OSU's knees buckle once again.

On paper, sure, OSU is an absolute beast and should be a favorite to win it all. But anyone who's actually watched them this season sees that they shit the bed if they're not up by 21 by the first quarter.

That photo gives my dessicated old soul the same kind of deep existential satisfaction as did sitting in the stadium and watching Billy Taylor running around right end for the winning TD in 1971 after textbook blocks by Larry Cipa and Fritz Seyferth.

Beat OSU. Forever.

All ESPN talks about is the SEC, so I think they're sort of sleeping on OSU and Michigan. And maybe that's partly because of the dismantling Michigan got in the playoffs last year.

But outside of the SEC lovers at ESPN, I don't think anybody is sleeping on OSU, Georgia is the most complete team (which I would have said before them playing Tennessee, #1 Tennessee was dumb), so OSU isn't favorites over them, but I put OSU as favorites over anybody else in the country on a neutral field (except maybe Michigan on a neutral field, not because Michigan is better per say, but because Michigan is a machine built for one purpose).

What a stupid article but I'm sure it is getting clicks. No one is sleeping on the #2 team in the nation, with a presumed Heisman frontrunner, who has been in the playoff more often than they haven't.

Sleeping on Michigan with the initial ranking of #5 and calling last year's win over OSU a fluke...that I can buy.

Relax, guys.  It's just the first in a planned series:

Why is the College Football World Sleeping on Georgia

Why is the College Football World Sleeping on Alabama

Why is the College Football World Sleeping on Clemson

Why is the College Football World Sleeping on TCU

and

Why is the College Football World Not Sleeping Enough on Michigan

This quote, "Astonishingly, it’s been seven years since they were last ranked first in the AP Poll." is everything.

Absolutely LOVE this.  So disrespected, the unfair SEC bias, the tp draft choice QB...Self absorption and deflection is the perfect set-up for The Game.

The Softest team in the land.  Wouldn't be surprised if an OSU parent wrote this article.

Beating Ohio will be delicious in its own right.  But this year, we get the extra bonus of that resulting in our avoiding Georgia in the semifinal (a team we did not have any success against last year).  You never know in college football; #4 team could pull off a fluky win and we can face the #4 team on a high and bruised up following a war in the trenches with Georgia.

We haven't won in Columbus in 22 yrs. Never imagined that could be true. For me, bc of the location, a win this year will be just as meaningful as last year. 2 wins in a row with The Game returning to A2 next...  That would be amazing.

It's a remarkably non-analytic article written by a freelance writer. Basically says - OSU looks really good, and they're never ranked first, so they should be first. The only consideration given any other team is that Georgia almost lost to Missouri and Tennessee started the season unranked. No idea why 538 felt the need to post that.

Team is ranked second in the country, will get into the playoffs if it wins out, and this guy says the football world is “sleeping” on them?  Clickbait.
