Rewatching the game, …

Rewatching the game,  Michigan seemed almost insulted by TCU toughness and exotic 3-3-5 alignments.

In these type of games the first quarter is essential and we got to do a better job of getting off the bus with our hair on fire.

It just sucks, was such a missed opportunity. Georgia would have had their hands full with this team.

We are built to beat OSU

We are built to beat OSU

OSU is built to beat Georgia

football is weird

I’m fearing the same

I’m fearing the same

They are out rushing us

We…

They are out rushing us

We are out PASSING them.

Oh vey,

I picked the wrong week to stop doing meth.

Exactly, there is a lot…

Exactly, there is a lot reason to shit on OSU, but the QB trope is intellectually dishonest at best.

Successful NFL QBs is so random, I can’t think of a school that I can point to and say “wow QB factory!”

Exactly. This is key, if…

Exactly. This is key, if mazi can collapse the pocket from the front, we win.

I agree he might be bad at…

I agree he might be bad at the next level. But that isn’t fOSU job.

Why do we hold OSU QB to such an elite NFL standard?

Especially when our QB developed is well… respectfully… ass cheeks.

True. But Justin fields is…

True. But Justin fields is pretty good once the bears spent some of that $100 million in cap space for an OL and WR.

I think most people…

I think most people appreciate the complexity of Michigans running game.

The consternation comes for the apparent entropy of a dependable and explosive passing game.

This is exactly what I was…

This is exactly what I was thinking, it’s a completely different rule of engagement for OSU thank us.

We must have an elite defense.
They only need a good defense.

And I just mad myself sad.

100%

Admittedly, I’m a…

100%

Admittedly, I’m a sucker for football techno babble

Re-reading the article I think its incomplete, the author didn’t break down the cons of Knowles defensive philosophy.

Need a Mgoblog FFFF breakdown like yesterday

From your lips to Gods ears

From your lips to Gods ears

I don’t think this data…

I don’t think this data point is all that relevant for our matchup.

Both teams are in the Top 10-15 in points allowed

If common opponent is your cup of tea, it’s pretty  easy to see these teams are evenly matched.

That makes sense for OSU. We…

That makes sense for OSU. We dominated last year because they couldn’t stop us from bleeding them slow.

To Michigan consistent 5-20 yard rushing gains are worth more that “boom or bust” 50+ yard gain that put OSU offense on the field quickly.

Man Saturday is decades away. I’m a nervous wreck.

My apologies I got the…

My apologies I got the article confused, I read another about Jim Knowles spill and kill strategy for standard down.

To your point, the DL resetting gaps can gum up the best OLs for at least a Quarter.

my biggest fear is our non-corum running back’s cut back vision that Seth touched on.

Corum is master at pressing gaps only to cut to another one at the last second. He is a human gap multiplier.

While Edwards and to a lesser extent stokes are good runners. I don’t think they can consistently get yard beyond what’s blocked.

Sure I can see that, but…

Sure I can see that, but wouldn’t the inverse be true?

Maryland put 27 points and nearly 400 yards on us.

And PSU always plays OSU tough going back many years.

if Jim Knowles only contribution is gap soundness, that’s a big step up for OSU from last year

i guess we will see

Also fOSU as per board…

Also fOSU as per board protocol.

Transitive property in…

Transitive property in sports doesn’t work.

How did we beat OSU last year even though we lost to MSU?

We had the same…

We had the same opportunities we face the same bad offense.

I get it, it’s not in vogue to compliment thy enemy.

But if we are gonna beat our chest about PSU then we have to be intellectually honest to allow the opposite to be true.

I think we can agree to that point.

What’s your point?

OSUs…

What’s your point?

OSUs defense had something to do with those short drives and turnovers.

If we had 6 turnover we would be ecstatic.

OSU blasted Iowa and MSU worse than we did. On the flip, we nuked PSU.

It’s ok to call a spade a spade.

I think morris is good but…

I think morris is good but he isn’t what I regard as twitchy like ojabo or hutch.

He will get pressure but I don’t know how much it will bother stroud.

stroud did throw for 400 will getting pummeled last year.

We have to get home on exotic amoeba blitzes.

A complex and dependable…

A complex and dependable passing game doesn’t just happen.

you have to rep timing and distance, we didn’t shadow box our passing game against the tomato can teams.

Best case scenario is McCarthy hits situational strikes that gives a fresh set of downs.

Thats a far cry from the preseason hype we all envisioned.

Yeah, I think about this a…

Yeah, I think about this a lot

OSU was stripped bare last year with 10 years of vengeance.

they aren’t as bad as we made them look.

We just need to survive the early game surge.

I guess but I would assume…

I guess but I would assume teams learn from previous contest.

Rushing for 200+ yard without scoring touchdowns in the red zone my biggest fear.

It only takes 2-3 field goal (michigan) to touchdown (OSU) exchanges for us to be playing a game we aren’t comfortable with playing (passing)

I wouldn’t be so sure.

I wouldn’t be so sure.

An x-ray may not show the damage.

This fracture would most likely be discovered by a MRI the following day Higher resolution.

I think this too, OSU for…

I think this too, OSU for its faults will not entertain a change to their status quo.

if Michigan beats OSU on the regular it would take everything from them.

They will fire Day in a heartbeat and bring in Fickell.

Win the game Saturday and burn it down.

Surely you jest

you don’t…

Surely you jest

you don’t put a freshman on probably the game best wide receiver because of his measurables.

At this juncture, Harrison would absolutely abuse him with a whole bag of tricks and moves.

I will take our starting secondary and double Harrison situationally.

There is not threat of pass!

There is not threat of pass!

Pride

Pride

That completion was against…

That completion was against zone. So man shuts our receivers/ passing game down.

TBh, I am worried about OSU…

TBh, I am worried about OSU switching to a bear front like Virginia Tech did to urban meyers run-oriented offense in 2014.

I think we need to see solid situation passing in this Illinois game.

Are we playing better…

Are we playing better defenses or have the receivers regressed?

Okudah went to OSU

Okudah went to OSU

I don’t think it’s that bad

I don’t think it’s that bad

I don’t think it’s that bad

but..

I really worry what happens if we have to play from behind. I just don’t see an elite situational passing game.

Wut?

Wut?

Championships are played in…

Championships are played in domes and SEC weather.

We should learn how to shoot ferrets. Lol

As an aside, I think the passing game is missing a true jumbo sized X receiver, sans the TEs

Corpse is so poetic here

Corpse is so poetic here

I think we should give OSU…

I think we should give OSU credit for playing a Power 5 opponent out the gate without a tune up game like Hawaii or UConn.

We just need to continue to improve

We had 10 sacks in the first…

We had 10 sacks in the first two weeks, I think our last couple of games is more indicative of our real pass rush.

we don’t have “ sack on demand “like huch or ojabo.

I fear we might get stonewalled for long stretches against “near peer” competition.

I’m not sure about his fancy…

I’m not sure about his fancy stats under pressure. But here are his stats

In CJ stroud 2 losses as starter:

Oregon: 35/54 484yd 3TD 1int

Michigan: 34/49 394 2TD 1int

he seems to throw well under pressure, he’s was beat up in both of those games

In kinnick, this is a very…

In kinnick, this is a very real possibility. That place is a house of horrors.

I agree but they played a…

I agree but they played a near peer team in game one.

I give them credit for not playing a cupcake. Time will tell. They definitely made changes

Yes and no.

Yes and no.

Yes, No, maybe?

Regardless…

Yes, No, maybe?

Regardless we have crossed the rubicon on Harbaugh. He can’t just come back to the status quo.

Recruits will know he wanted out and anything short of a top-of-mountain full throated commitment with the matching 10 year contract is gonna make recruiting difficult going forward.

I don’t know about that. …

I don’t know about that.  Pressure affects every QB, even Tom Brady.

But that stroud kid is a good one, in the snow he threw for 400/2 TD while getting rag dolled by hutch.

IMO that’s pretty impressive any way you slice it. I was convinced he would throw a  few picks in the second half.

Yeah I caught that, (pun…

Yeah I caught that, (pun intended)

I think the announcers said the ball touched the ground but it was under control. Fair enough.

It was a heck of a catch, but better win.

Come on! You are…

Come on! You are embarrassing me! Lol

I wanted to use the cool kids phrase “in 4K”.

But yeah that’s B1G level access, when we win the championship we should get the season montage, it will be glorious.

Fuck yes!!! I have been…

Fuck yes!!! I have been drunk and naked for 18 hours and I don’t have a care in the world!

It looks like the Borg and…

It looks like the Borg and Thanos depicted as a football team.
