Thanks, Tony.

I'd like to take a moment to thank the commissioner of the B1G, Tony Petitti.

And I'll take that moment after I let off another, fuck you, Tony Petitti.

Okay, now, I can share my appreciation as you have helped rally a team, a program, a school, a city, and a fanbase and for the first time in my lifetime...we are all headed in the same direction.

It took some work, Tony. Michigan is stubborn. Michigan fans are stubborn.

Michigan's head coach is stubborn. For two straight offseasons that head coach kept fans and recruits in limbo as he flirted with NFL opportunities. He said he's done, but "fool me twice"...we never really believed him, deep down we just hoped the stars would align and he'd coach at Michigan a few more years and leave us with a national championship and a rightful heir.

But thanks to you, Tony. You and the B1G office. Jim Harbaugh isn't going ANYWHERE. I think Jim Harbaugh retires here. I think Jim Harbaugh outlasts you, Tony.

Jim's whole thing was that he didn't feel *all* of the love at Michigan. No matter how hard we tried, there was always something to point to. No longer. EVERYONE SUPPORTS JIM HARBAUGH. The president, the board...the suits, the supporters, and the system. We're all behind our football coach.

Insiders report the contract is still in the works (paused last week), Jim is happy to sign it, and Michigan will fight this shitstorm together and Harbaugh will remain at Michigan, with this weekend being the proof that he so desperately wanted to see and feel...he is OUR coach and we are HIS team.

Fuck you, Tony. Go Blue.

This is truly worst case for Tony and the Big Ten.  They needed Michigan to lose yesterday and did everything they could to stack the deck to make sure that happened.  Now they have to pray OSU can come in to AA and win.  Tony had a choice, he picked the mob and now he has a horrible precedent set and Michigan still the best team in his conference.

Such dumbassery from a guy you would think is intelligent to get to where he is.

It’s probably because Tony is a Harvard grad that they took the language of the Big10’s bylaws and twisted it to obtain a result that was in direct contradiction of its purpose. Trying not to be political, but Chesebro, another Harvard Law grad also tortured the language of the election laws to propose a possibility outside the normal course of events dictated by the plain language reading of the laws. If that’s the stuff they’re teaching at Harvard Law, perhaps they need to shut down the program for 3 years while they investigate exactly what’s going on.

Maybe if Tony wanted Michigan to lose in Happy Valley yesterday, he should have awarded PSU 25 points at the start of the game and tell Michigan to overcome that. Tony would like to award Maryland 48 points so that Michigan would have to win 49-0. For OSU, give them a 25-0 lead before kickoff. It just feels like Petitti and the mob wants Michigan to lose their last three games and then declare Michigan ineligible for any bowl game. That's the only way they would be satisfied.

So far, 1 down and 2 to go for the good guys.

A prohibition against in-person, offsite scouting is ridiculous, especially when it appears the rules allow a team to pay an outside scouting firm to provide it. You just can't do it yourself.

What is far more ridiculous is for Petitti to claim in his letter to Michigan that he has serious concerns about player safety from Stalions bullshit, raw smartphone video from joeshmoe CFB fans, but he does not address in the least a concern over player safety resulting from teams sharing detailed play to sideline signal mapping documents.

Fucking hypocrite.

Don’t want to start new thread on my insider/ buddy again.  Just a few notes.

1) AD has never been this unified… this is pretty obvious, don’t need an insider for this info. Yesterdays win cathartic, but AD and school were already galvanized for justice/revenge.

2) Entire university “feels like the emotions we saw from Sheronne Moore post game. Harbaugh love and loyalty has reached peak. They 100% believe it’s personal now- not about rules or any other red herring.

3) They will be going full nuclear on B1G AND NCAA starting this week. TRO and media leaks will not just be a defense.  The offensive begins this week.

4) Search for new conference and or other options (independence) is real and proceeding.  Even high level discussions on how to structure rev share to players and be first mover there. B1G will need to “re-recruit” UM top stay in the conference.

5) OSU hired the PI firm - now 99% certain.  Ryan Day will be found to be directly connected.  UM has 3 firms working on OSU, looking at info on stolen signs (illegally), practice scouting, and have real evidence of payment to 4 recruits - at least - who received cash just to visit their campus.

Let the war begin.

About the recruiting aspect to #5, it's been talked about for a while that recruits are making this demand. Cardale Jones said that recruits were demanding payment from OSU just to visit. I kinda hope Michigan only plays that card if the recruits played for OSU. Otherwise, OSU gets screwed, along with the kid and whatever school he committed to.

I don't see a benefit to going independent, but I do like the idea of a revenue structure that includes the players. That sounds like a very long term goal, but one that could flip college athletics on its ear.

You know what I’m looking forward to?

Beating OSU, winning the Big Ten, and then hearing a relentless onslaught of boo’s coming down from the rafters in Indy as Pettiti comes onstage to reluctantly award the trophy, trying to maintain his composure as he has to present the trophy to the man he suspended.

Unlike Pete Rozelle handing the Lombardi Trophy to Al Davis in 1981 - in the lockerroom! - after Pete rallied owners who hated Davis and sued and did everything in his power to thwart Al from moving his team from Oakland to LA, Tony is going to hear from a massive UM fan base (presumably against Iowa) in 3 weeks.

A faithful man forgives. A smart man forgets. The Harbaughs remember.

Tony Pettiti just irreversibly alienated the entire fanbase of the founding, flagship school that has kept this conference together for the better part of 130 years. It will not take much to get the dominos falling again on the realignment carousel. The best part will be when the whiny bitches at places like Purdue and Illinois get 90% of their funding cut and have to scuttle their programs. Ain’t no room for garbage in the new football minor leagues.

Yeah the Washington St and Oregon States of the big ten best make some strong allegiances with the bell cows. There will come a day when kids are getting revenue shares and dead weight will be cut.

Id tie my string to a "do it the right way" school like U of M rather than SEC lite OSU. They would kick their grandma down a flight of stairs if she was stepping on a letter of intent from a 5 star.

I can identify a coach like Ferentz wouldnt cheat or maybe if Barry Alvarez was around. The classic "id die on that hill before I would let anyone tarnish this sport" Hayden Frye?

Cant these other fans see that Jim is that coach. He would hate cheating the game much more than a good old fashioned "welp they got us this time steal in the spine fellas"

Where is the critical thinking from anyone outside our fanbase?

The fact that 75% of the people deciding this suspension were OSU/PSU staff is just amazing. What are we even doing? Why isnt Warde taking to the podium and addressing this in a nationwide broadcast. Let every person hear this and start them thinking about the absolute insanity that we are being judged by 2 of our next 3 opponents.

These irregularities don't happen in a functional conference. A sensible Commissioner simply tells the whiners, "We aren't going to railroad a conference member on my watch. Let the NCAA handle it."

The fact that didn't happen is enough to justify Michigan leaving the Big Ten. With or without Pettiti, I believe the "irreparable harm" done is the destruction of trust between Michigan and the conference.

The choice of 'committee' members to help ram this through reminds me of the Monty Python version of the Spanish Inquisition - laughably biased.

Once the genie is out of the bottle, it's not going back in.

We should leave the Big Ten at the earliest opportunity.

The guy definitely made it all the more likely that JH is here for life now. Just watching JH "Crown" Blake at the hockey game while the "Free Jim Harbaugh" chants were getting started was awesome. He knows he's loved here. I know there are a lot of Warde critics here (I've been critical of him at times too) but his statement yesterday was quite a positive surprise and strongly worded with passion. Thanks, Tony!

Seems to me they impulsively took action based mainly on a burning desire to force Harbaugh out of Michigan.

Incredibly stupid to put a short-term goal (Harbaugh is almost 60, how long will he be coaching here in any case?) ahead of a 100+ year relationship with a flagship school and program.

Michigan has shown time and again a willingness to "play by the rules" and abide by every decision laid down through a reasonably "fair" process.

At the same time, I think many Michigan folks are responding impulsively as well. Sadly, it reminds me of the torches and pitchforks calling for Harbaugh's head just a few years ago. Rash decisions are almost always bad decisions.

Michigan DOES NOT belong in the SEC.

My word, do you really want to be part of a conference where every school operates like OSU? Do you really want to pretend to care about South Carolina and Arkansas? Isn't Rutgers bad enough? Would you really like road games in Starkville, Mississippi? Have you heard those f-ing cowbells?

The worst fans I've ever been around were South Carolina racist drunks at the Outback Bowl - and I've been to several games in C-bus. No thank you.

I'm pissed off at the conference and all this crap just like every Michigan fan, but I've spent my whole life caring about the Big 10, our ancient rivalries and traditions and yes, partnership with conference members.

This B1G administration will be gone soon enough. Most of the a-hole coaches and ADs will be gone even sooner - especially when we continue to stomp their sorry butts.

Yes, we're mad - so get even, don't quit and leave. If we play the long game and keep our heads, things will swing to our favor. The fools forcing things now will be found out and replaced.
