Has the B1G opened Pandora’s Box

Submitted by RadOWon on November 11th, 2023 at 6:55 PM

I’m not a legal expert but going forward shouldn’t the B1G be legally obligated to suspend every coach in every sport that is suspected of cheating of any sort? It would seem they are now legally obligated with this action, if not, does JH have legal recourse against the B1G?
Cheating is cheating, the B1G shouldn’t be able to discern the level of cheating or the accusation of cheating. Going forward all coaches accused of or being investigated for cheating in any form MUST BE SUSPENDED, and yes, recruiting violations ARE cheating. In fact it’s a more egregious form of cheating than “in person scouting” because the “on field competitive advantage” is exponentially more impactful when a team is “cheating” to land a recruit.

I don’t know, maybe I’m reaching. 😂🥰

They picked a fight with one of it's 2 flagship programs over bullshit because the other is coached by a born on 3rd bitchmade Karen.

The commish is a TV guy that doesn't know ball, and what should be a tier 3 violation has turned into the crime of the century becasue HARBAUGH!!! , the mob, and media clicks.

They have indeed opened up the door for all sorts of dirty laundry to be aired and/or UM to leave the conference.

I'm going to keep asking until someone gives me a plausible answer: Why would they want to cripple the B1G's best opportunity to capture an NC in a decade? It would have been so simple to express concern and say, 'We're letting the NCAA's investigation take its course.' Or even, 'The B1G reserves the right to levy additional penalties.' Etcetera.

Well, whatever. We can beat OSU without Jim, I am convinced after today.

It also says A LOT, that the very best thing they could come up with to attempt to prevent M's NC chances, is fucking sign stealing, something literally every program does, and is only illegal in a very unique scenario that has nothing to do with all the pearl clutching bullshit they're all spewing out.

It's very, very revealing that they are completely desperate, and just as revealing that M runs a pretty fucking clean/tight ship.

Here's how it started/how it's going:

  • "Hey guys we really can't let M be too successful"
  • "Ok right, what do we have on them?!"
  • "A burger."
  • "OK YES! LEAK IT!"
  • "Shit it didn't work"
  • "Ok shit what else do we have on them?! Hurry people!"
  • "Um they 'stole' signs"
  • "Doesn't everyone do that rampantly?"
  • "Yeah but no one talks about it"
  • "OK YES! LEAK IT!"
  • "Shit it's still not working"
  • "Ok shit what else do we have on them?!"
  • "Nothing."
  • "FUCK, WE ARE FUCKED"

A few years ago, when the rest of the country became aware that urban Meyer was essentially retaining a known wife beater who had restraining orders in place from his ex-wife, and repeat offender on his staff and had rehired him six consecutive times knowing of these charges, what did the Big Ten do? They let Ohio State choose their own penalty, and if I’m correct urban Meyer finished coaching the season, faked migraines so it looked like he had a reason to quit and because his narcissistic ego maniacal personality needed people to feel sorry for him and then “retired”. Is it just me or isnt retaining a repeat wife beater, who needed to have restraining orders filed against him  as an assistant coach for six consecutive years a more egregious infraction than in person scouting?

And I'll say again he came in compromised by someone...let's guess who? Why else run headlong into a meat grinder. Many easier and fair paths to pursue that were easily defensible.

By the way I found one of PSU's footballs at halftime and it was under inflated. Should I ask for their cell phones?

I think it’s because some number of influential schools saw the opportunity to BS a rookie B1G commissioner into thinking that what they had on us was sufficiently bad that we would eventually be disqualified from the B1G championship and playoffs.

As part of that, I think he got snowed into thinking that OSU is the Conference’s only realistic chance at a national championship.  So it became a game theory exercise to move us out in favor of the more likely candidate, OSU.

Petitti got bullshitted (the word of the day!) and is experienced enough to know better.  But the money has transformed this conference into Lord of the Flies.

The Commissioner established his absolute inability to lead and manage. You don't give into a bunch of whiners to stop their whining. You get to the root of the problem, if there is one, and determine your response and actions once you have the facts. Now, we have a bunch of enabled whiners who have been gratified. The whining will continue. (Has Petitti not raised children or managed any group of people? Sheesh, this is elementary.)

The Big Ten plays favorites. Ohio State is the favorite for god knows what reason so the league is just gonna cave to them. Got to the Big Ten title game in 2020 due to their whining, got Harbaugh suspended this year due to their whining.

It's worse than that. The B1G didn't just not do anything when OSU got in hot water over tat-gate - they went to bat for them to get the original post-season suspensions removed to be served out the next season (when everyone knew said players were going pro anyways). The same conference who is trying to get Michigan defacto removed from post-season play, came to cheating OSU's defense when they were doing all kinds of stuff and everyone knew it.

Yep. It's not enough to just sit on the sidelines and let the NCAA maybe punish UM in the future (which can still happen as a pile-on), they're actively trying to make sure of it.

I don't know what Michigan needs to do to change this, but the financial muscles related to what they do for the conference need to be flexed - hard - and put these bastards in their places.

They should punish the school by suspending the head coach. But to be clear they need to make sure everyone understands they are punishing the school not the head coach... that is suspended..... from coaching.

Is there any stretching or specific warmups we should do when doing these mental gymnastics?

I'm sure I'm biased, but watching the end of that game today, the B1G looked petty and small. I think that look will continue. Easy to say now that Michigan won, but it's almost better that he couldn't coach today. Changed us from the heel to the hero, IMO.

ESPN has a headline at the bottom during a game that said something about Michigan running game destroying PSU and 30 or something straight run game. And about Moore's emotions.

It will get there. Keep winning.

Tell you what. The more a team or an organization is pushed by a mob, a new mob will form to squash that. It happens all the time. Narrative will change.

Lol I saw the ESPN score ticker about the M/PSU game and the color info was about how M had it’s streak of 40+ points scored broken, let up the most points all year, and that PSU stinks against top ranked teams.

Like we all predicted, the narrative shifted immediately from “OSU is #1 bc they beat PSU” to “PSU is not that good”
