Minnesota has offered Fleck the job
...according to the Huge Show.
Huge is now claiming that they are close:
Sources tell me Minnesota is close to a deal with PJ Fleck.

They're probably happy that they may not have to face him next year, as WMU is on their schedule. Although, every Sparty fan I know is convinced that this year was a blip and next year they are going to win the B1G East again. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Dantonio turns 61 soon and there have been whispers about health issues. There's speculation that he may call it a career in the next couple of years.

I thought all Dantonio needed to stay alive was the blood of a young boy...

That heart attack after a game once was a pretty loud whisper. Frankly, I'm surprised his smug non-smiling heart has allowed him to continue coaching this long.

Good luck to PJ. He'll need it.

Why not?
Unless he's going to go the next couple of years at WMU and turn himself into a Herman type...he's not going to get a better opportunity this season (and likely next season as well).
Great fit and huge step for him. Huge opportunity and in the B1G West. Perfect set up if you ask me...which you didn't, so I'll shut up now.

situation with players thinking the coach they loved was unfairly dismissed.
Otherwise, would be a great job for Moorehead. Just 1 year as an FBS OC (though he performed well--until McSorely played with fire one too many times on the 'throw it up and hope for the best' play).

So many boat rowing options in Minnesota.

Take the job, coach. You've already got experience beating Illinois but losing to Wisconsin. You'll fit right in.

So many questions
What will Fleck's new slogan be at the U?
Do the Broncos keep "Row the Boat" and oars on their uniforms forever and ever amen?

Break the Ice.

Michigan does not play Minnesota again until the next Epoch.
January 5th, 2017 at 3:04 PM ^
January 5th, 2017 at 5:23 PM ^
after next year. THEN the next Epoch.
But seriously, you mean this (2017) year, right?
Weird thing is that Michigan plays Minnesota in 2017, then takes a break for several years. So it does not work out as a home and away. Just a home game in 2017...and then, see ya whenever...

I'm not entirely sold on him, but if he's the real deal, this is what the conference needs. Wisconsin is a good program but otherwise the West needs to beef up.

January 5th, 2017 at 2:44 PM ^
I think he's gonna make the jump. He's reached the literal ceiling at WMU with a NY6 Bowl. Can still pull his fair share of kids from Chicago there. It makes sense.
January 6th, 2017 at 10:26 AM ^
Much as it sucks for Western, he's supposedly getting +$3M to take over a program with no great history of success. He'd be crazy not to take it.
January 5th, 2017 at 2:46 PM ^
Who ya got? Huge, Valenti, Gregg Henson, Steven A., Skip Bayless, Jim Rome. Discuss.
I enjoy Valenti occasionally. Used to like Rome, then I turned 19. The rest of them...cheer for the meteor?
January 5th, 2017 at 3:49 PM ^
He may be over the top, but he's the only one on that list that doesn't seem to troll fan bases (though I don't know much about Henson).
Valenti is stuck in Detroit because he knows his schtick won't work outside of here. You think he can go to Philly and survive by trolling PSU? Doubt it. And he'd have to get in line when it comes to being critical over NY teams.
