Hah! Take that, Buckeyes. You're bad at a sport I never thought about until I found out you're bad at it.

Could be... Natural Ice is 5.9% ABV, so he'd only need 8 beers. If he got his hands on 16 ounce cans, he'd only need 6. So maybe that's how you get there.
EDIT: But wait. He got pulled over at 8:39pm, and said he'd had 5 beers "since 3pm". You can metabolize away a lot of alchohol in five hours. The first few beers he had were long gone from his bloodstream by the time he was given the BAC test.
|7 weeks 1 day ago||Mgoblue has Graham Glasgow||
Mgoblue has Graham Glasgow listed at 308 pounds. A person of that weight would need 11 cans of Natural Light Beer (4.2% ABV) to hit a BAC of .013. Of course, your body starts metabolizing it immediately. So depending on how long he had been drinking for, it may have been more than that.

I was wondering how this turned out. I myself packed it in around 12:30. I know that "peak viewing" was supposed to be from 2-4 but I didn't know if you'd see anything before that. I saw one shooting star within five seconds of looking skyward at around 10:30, and then nothing else.

I didn't see video of any of Denard's plays last year (except for the long run where he gets stripped just before the goal line) :-( But every week I checked the box score and the numbers were not encouraging. Usually one or two runs for something between -2 and 2 yards each. Can anyone who actually saw the Jags play provide any more info? Was he a gimmick that the defense was able to key off of whenever he was in? Did the blocking suck? Or was he just not able to make anything happen?

welp, obviously that joke did not perform well.
For the record, I was a student there, graduated in 2004.
It's generally believed that the "no-show problem" (ie students buying tickets but not actually attending the games) is due in part to students whose willingness to pay for tickets is much greater than their desire to actually use them. Obviously this is not the case for ALL students, but it does seem to be the case for enough of them to leave big chunks of the student section empty, both before and during the ill-concieved experiment with GA seating. The previous post was an attempt at humorous commentary on this phenomenom. It was not meant to offend.

DB: "So... I'm thinking of jacking up the ticket prices. That's cool, right?"
Student Gov: "Whatever. Our parents are paying for them anyhow."

Owie. Here's to a speedy recovery for Mr. Infante.
You know what's sad? Look at all the fans in the background. Look how few of them are actually watching the game.

It's been mentioned several times in the past couple weeks: Kenpom's formula LOVES Tennessee's resume of blowout wins and narrow losses, even if the total number of losses tells most humans they're a middle-of-the-pack team. One might go so far as to call Kenpom's evaulation of this matchup flawed, but we do not taunt the Kenpom. No sir.

Was the desired effect "become an effective backup to Denard Robinson, most notably against Illinois, but then transfer and crater career"?

I was going to make a play on "splitting the M", but here at MGoBlog we're classier than that.

That's what I was thinking. Did not have the desired effect on Mr. Forcier.

It could be worse... we have a member on here who was a Missouri student. Missouri uses a nearly identical yellow block M on a black background (which can look very similar to dark blue). IIRC he said he would get asked while he was wearing a Michigan baseball cap, by Missouri fans... in Missouri's stadium.

Yeah, I'm a fan myself. But the rules are the rules. We must protect The Brand* at all costs.

Do teams ever line up to kick an extra point, and then fake it to attempt a two point conversion? I don't really recall ever seeing that. Fake field goals, sure. Fake extra points, not so much.

Interesting read. Hopefully this offsets the jinx karma created by the Texas/Arizona State preview.
|20 weeks 1 day ago||The BTT is the last chance||
The BTT is the last chance for bubble teams to make it in or move up a seed or two. Frequently in the past we've been one of those teams, but not this year... so I don't really care, unless we end up playing State again.

Thanks for updating this... I was hoping you would. Looking forward to the next one after (hopefully) the next Michigan win.
|21 weeks 2 days ago||We're only in trouble if||
We're only in trouble if Michigan kept the police off the case because Gibbons was a football player. That seems really unlikely given that:
1. Other Michigan players have gotten in trouble with the law (Darryl Stonum comes to mind) with no apparent desire or ability of the University to protect the player.
2. Brendan Gibbons had just completed his red-shirt season when he was arrested. The next year he was a God-awful 1 for 5 on field goals. He was hardly the sort of star player that an unscrupulous administration might try to protect. If Saban was our coach he would have used the rape charge as an excuse to kick him off the team.

Following the olympics as a Red Wings fan is confusing. Go USA! Although... not any players I normally root for on the team. I gotta root for frikkin' Patrick Kane? Well, I'm not going to root for Canada... although they are coached by Babcock and managed by Yzerman. Hmm. So go... Sweden? Yeah, half their roster are Red Wings, even after Lidstrom retired. And then we've got one or two players on half the rest of the olympic rosters.
|21 weeks 3 days ago||Well sure. I didn't mean to||
Well sure. I didn't mean to suggest that we SHOULD. Just wondering what the call would be.
It would be slightly unscrupulous but very easy for a coach to tell a player to swing by that way and cause a collision, but make it look like an accident. Don't think Beilein would, but I could see one of the slimier coaches doing it.
To be clear I'm not calling for intent to injure in any case, just to draw a foul.

Serious question: Suppose whichever Michigan player is in that area lowers his shoulder and deliberately trucks Izzo. What's the call there?
EDIT: I mean, assuming his feet aren't set, obviously.

|24 weeks 6 days ago||Let's remember that just||
Let's remember that just because you're going no huddle doesn't mean you're going crazy tempo. For years now Brian has been enviously mentioning the sort of no-huddle offense where you get up to the line quickly, then take time to assess the defensive formation and adjust the play accordingly. That kind of no huddle may not move any faster than our regular huddle offense, but it gives us a lot more flexibility to call the right play against whatever the defense is showing.
Borges said he didn't want to get into a chess match with the defense. Why wouldn't you? That's sort of your job. Hopefully Nussmeier is more willing to play.

Isn't the CAPA going to run afoul of Title IX? My brain always goes around in circles in this. It's impossible to argue Michigan's football players aren't earning big bucks for the university. It's impossible to argue that Michigan's women's water polo players ARE earning big bucks for the university. Yet the law dictates that they be treated equally.
