#11 Michigan @ #3 UVA to start the season

Big matchup for the defending B1G champs at Charlottesville to kick off the ‘24 season.  see Diary for comprehensive breakdown.  I don’t have ACC Network and am not restarting ESPN+ just to get another "this game is not available in your area".

Virginia opened the scoring early 1st.  Would be a tremendous program W following the best season in Michigan Lacrosse.  GO BLUE 🥍!!!

Beat Virginia!

We need to fix the state of streaming.  Unfortunately the powers that be are too interested in cutting up the CFB pie to try and present the non-revenue sports as value added. The conference networks don't allow for fan reciprocity for away games. These games should be free to watch if they want to build viewership.

Go Blue!

so about an hour after i fall asleep i get a call just after 3am that my dad fell.  He’s complaining about his neck, he’s on blood thinners and i have to take him to Beaumont.  I don’t want to go in with him because i’ve been bio-terrorized by my kids and had been sick since Thu. Turns out no fractured orbital despite a good shiner, subdural hematoma will require an overnight and follow up CT tomorrow.  i get a couple hrs of sleep in time to meet with my contractor to hand over $25K and add $2K in upgrades to this project.

So i really don’t give 2fux about downvotes or if you have to read to figure it out.  "it’s so hard because i don’t know what sport"! -crybaby Ronny Chieng voice.  Be glad you have a program that was in doubt a year earlier that is now #11 pre-season and defending a conference crown. now you know.  whinier bitches than the nextdoor app.

Sorry about your dad, hope everything works out well.

With that said it was a poorly constructed title and post. It's weird that you're describing some challenging personal circumstances but then doubling down and and calling everybody crybabies.  How about trying to learn from it and doing better next time instead?

I'm here! Sorry - I was at the game. It was rough.  Great atmosphere and a lot of fun - box score said the attendance was approx 4,000 but it seemed like there were much more than that.  Michigan was well-represented there and it didn't seem like just player's parents/families. They were vocal the whole game. The team kept grinding even when it was out of hand.

This is obviously not how M envisioned their season opener. They couldn't bury their first few looks (UVA's goalie was insanely good) and then the game got away from them. Virginia seemed like in mid-season form though. Hopefully this is Michigan's worst game of the season. I'll post some more thoughts in Honolulu's diary thread!
