OT: First snow!
Stop being depressed about all the sad things going on, and be a kid again! Ann Arbor is having its first snow of the year right now. WOO
November 10th, 2011 at 3:08 PM ^
Man would it be awesome if the game against OSU was a snow-bowl. I'd love to see a foot of snow when the Buckeyes come to town.
November 10th, 2011 at 3:24 PM ^
I'm not sure that would be in our favor.
November 10th, 2011 at 3:35 PM ^
instead, I fail to see how that's a bad thing.
November 11th, 2011 at 1:00 AM ^
Someone who runs a 4.4 40 vs someone who runs a 4.9 40....the gap inbetween those two people shrink a helluva lot when there is a foot of snow.
Unless you are talking about Denard, in which case his Dilithium melts the snow in front of him for a clear lane to the end zone. :)
November 10th, 2011 at 3:09 PM ^
Snowball fight time!
November 10th, 2011 at 3:20 PM ^
That's not until the night before Valentine's Day!
November 10th, 2011 at 3:11 PM ^
NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
I was walking up to the dude when I first noticed it. I looked up at the sky, and then me and this asian dude shared a look of complete disgust and depression followed by us both shaking our heads and walking our seperate directions.
It's wayyyyyy too early for this.
November 10th, 2011 at 3:17 PM ^
I think you should appreciate the snow and the twisted things that come from it.
November 10th, 2011 at 3:42 PM ^
You're absolutely correct.
I actually tend to enjoy it quite immensly, but the biggest bummer is that I can't ride my motorcycle any more. Makes the trip to north campus a hell of a lot longer!
November 10th, 2011 at 8:48 PM ^
Weather.com says we'll have sun the next 7 of 9 days.
November 10th, 2011 at 5:08 PM ^
Asian guy at the Dude? PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN
November 10th, 2011 at 3:11 PM ^
Well that lasted a whole 90 seconds.....
November 10th, 2011 at 3:29 PM ^
that's what she said?
November 10th, 2011 at 7:54 PM ^
holy shit dude when did you sent to Bolvia?
November 10th, 2011 at 3:12 PM ^
Actually it snows from january to april in michigan so technically its not the first time its snowing this year
November 10th, 2011 at 3:21 PM ^
You're thinking too much.
November 10th, 2011 at 3:27 PM ^
But it is the first snow of the season.
November 10th, 2011 at 3:13 PM ^
Winter is coming.
November 10th, 2011 at 3:14 PM ^
If you're excited about snow, you must rent?
Oh how I love sitting on my couch, sipping hot chocolate, and watching my landlord clear the driveway.
November 10th, 2011 at 3:29 PM ^
Shoveling the drive is one of the rare cathartic experiences life provides.
November 10th, 2011 at 4:22 PM ^
At first I read "cathartic" as "cardiac" and I considered suggesting that you not shovel anymore . . .
November 10th, 2011 at 3:14 PM ^
Too bad I can't see outside at all...
November 10th, 2011 at 3:16 PM ^
My favorite part of the first snow of the season was walking by all the freshmen who were super excited and taking pictures of the snow falling. They have no idea what they are in for.
November 10th, 2011 at 3:28 PM ^
There was a kid in our dorm who was from Puerto Rico. First time it hit like 53 degrees he pulled up his windbreakers to his chin (in October or whatever) and said "dudes, you cannot tell me it gets colder than this!"....we just all chuckled as we were still in our short sleeve shirts, or a sweatshirt.
By November he had one of those old Wayne Fontes Parkas.
November 10th, 2011 at 3:34 PM ^
I was young, but I still remember Wayne Fontes and his parkas. I haven't thought about this in a looooooong time.
Thank you for a trip down memory lane....
November 10th, 2011 at 4:50 PM ^
It was right around this time of year that Fontes' teams would start winning all of a sudden to save his job. Good times.
November 10th, 2011 at 3:23 PM ^
so don't put away the jean shorts yet
November 10th, 2011 at 3:28 PM ^
Fuck that noise.
November 10th, 2011 at 3:29 PM ^
I hope for your sake in Michigan that most of the leaves are off the trees by now. We got our first snow of the year a couple of weeks ago in the northeast. The weight of the snow combined with the weight of the leaves caused a lot of branches to fall. My buddy in Western Mass was without power for 6 days.
November 10th, 2011 at 3:38 PM ^
Huh. So that's the lethal combination that results in such long-lasting power outages. It started snowing in Madison yesterday, but it was bullshit anger-driven horizontal hate sleet. It was like an arctic hurricane. The gentle flurries today are so much nicer.
November 10th, 2011 at 6:08 PM ^
bullshit anger-driven horizontal hate sleetBrilliant. I've been looking for just the right moniker for that shit for years. You've nailed it.
November 10th, 2011 at 3:31 PM ^
Yay!!!! Just in time for me to drive home from the airport and then shovel the driveway at the end of a long workweek. This is JUST what I wanted.
November 10th, 2011 at 3:35 PM ^
Probably not thread worthy since it is unconfirmed, but there are rumors going around 247sports and Alabama sites that Dee Hart is leaving their program.
November 10th, 2011 at 3:45 PM ^
reasons as to why?
November 10th, 2011 at 3:59 PM ^
Some people say he's pissed that he didn't play against LSU because his ACL is healing quickly. That's all I've seen.
If that's the reason, Dee isn't very smart.
EDIT: Now people are saying he got into a fight with one of the coaches about something and was kicked off the team.
November 10th, 2011 at 7:15 PM ^
Is it wrong that I'd still welcome him with open arms even if he did fight a coach? Heck if he fought Saban I'd shake his hand and give him a scholie.
November 10th, 2011 at 3:59 PM ^
haven't seen each other since we broke up in 2006 and I moved to Northern California. She's a cold hearted bitch, but deep down I still miss her sometimes.
November 10th, 2011 at 3:39 PM ^
Somehow, I haven't looked out my office window in Strong Hall this afternoon. It's good to be reminded that no matter how frustrated I get at my computer, there is always beer... I mean snow!
November 10th, 2011 at 3:53 PM ^
I just moved back to Ann Arbor after living in Arizona and hadn't seen snow in 5 years (including countless trips back to Michigan and other snow bound states in that time span). Needless to say, as soon as it started snowing I dropped what I was doing at work and ran outside to frolic. I give my new found fascination with snow 2 weeks until I relearn to hate the stuff...
November 10th, 2011 at 4:01 PM ^
I like it, but the first appearance of snowflakes makes my wife suicidal. She'd rather live in southern CA.
November 10th, 2011 at 4:13 PM ^
Wish I was there. I love the white stuff.
November 10th, 2011 at 5:14 PM ^
NTTIAWWT?
November 10th, 2011 at 4:27 PM ^
Nothing was worse than the day I went to the Dude in 2008 in flip flops and shorts when it was 70 degrees out. Upon leaving early the next morning there was 4-5" of snow on the ground. I'll never be fooled again, Mother Nature. Never again.
November 10th, 2011 at 4:31 PM ^
a news truck
November 10th, 2011 at 4:47 PM ^
i live near Marquette (Negaunee) and we got 12 inches of wet snow with 45 mph winds all yesterday. that was our first snow. Ann Arbor would shut down if that happened
November 10th, 2011 at 4:55 PM ^
"Ann Arbor would shut down if that happened"
... everything except for the university, that is.
November 10th, 2011 at 7:25 PM ^
downstaters more credit, we can handle that kind of snow cuz
