is also historically inaccurate. Before the deluge of televised games in 1980's Michigan kicked off its home games at 1pm and television even followed suit. Bo didn't grumble about kicking off at noon, Bo grumbled about television dictating the starting times (which were usually noon).
I really don't like noon games myself for many of the reasons others have stated. Until a few years ago I had a longer drive to games and I hated with a passion waking up at 5:30 am to get ready to hit the road. The whole morning felt rushed.
3:30 just feels right. Time for the day to feel like football, can take my time getting to the games, and home. In general more flexibility before and after games. Later in the year the approaching twilight adds a nice touch to the atmosphere and infact I'd prefer every game started 2 hours before sunset, like the Rose Bowl. Terrific atmosphere.

Still having Rutgers in the Big Ten is bigger embarrassment

Not thrilled with MSU or OSU at night. Too many idiots at MSU games. Too cold for OSU to be at night.

Illinois has had several opportunities to hire a big name coach. The only two they came up with were John Mackovic and Zuk. Both were coaches ousted by theri previous programs. Both did admirable jobs at Illinois and both were still fired.

has never been that great at football and that in state talent is pretty overrated. There is a reason so many leave the state to go somewhere else.

seems pretty convinced football played a part saying Eric struggled with depression going as far back as his days with the Bears.
So maybe the people closest to the situation might know a touch more than you cowboy.

spent some time in many other wealthier places around the country. Other than maybe the Birmingham/Bloomfield, Northville and Gross Pointes its really hard to call anywhere in Michigan truly snobby.
It is still a state who's wealth comes from working hard and playing hard.

Another of those neat things that has further decimated inner city schools.
