I'm not a big fan of their methodology. Comparing preseason and postseason rankings doesn't allow you to say that a team is overrated. What if a team is overrated in both the preseason and postseason rankings? At best this measures the teams that have underperformed. A much better way to do it would be to take all the games between ranked teams and see which teams lose the most when they're favored in the game according to the rankings. That way, you're at least comparing rankings against on-field performance. |
