Kienan currently plays right wing for the Chilliwack Chiefs of the BCHL and projects as a checking line forward who could move up to take on a scoring line role if he's able to find the scoring touch that he displayed in his draft year again.

OP had me at Kris Draper's son, but it would be nice to have some sort of star rating or something to help me know how happy I should be.

After seeing 4 Wolverines go in the first 5 picks of the NHL draft, I'm going to meet up with some college buddies in MN to see Michigan play the Gophers in hockey.  First live in-person Michigan hockey game in probably 20-25 years.   I'm jumping on this bandwagon.

He's had a pretty disappointing season and a quarter since he was drafted.  He produced a lot of points in his draft year playing in a prep school league, but has struggled to score since then.  He originally committed to Miami (NTM) when he was still playing in that league.  I don't know if this is a case of Miami getting cold feet or Kienan changing his mind.

If he doesn't find his scoring touch again, he projects as a 4th-liner and maybe even one of the guys who rotates in and out of the lineup.

Although I was born in Ann Arbor, and lived in Michigan for the first 13 years of my life, I graduated from Miami (NTM).  I am actually going to their Hockey game tonight.  A friend was given a sweet from work, and a bunch of us are going.  I looked it up, and saw some of the hockey chants Michigan uses.  Are those chants universal, or just for Michigan?  Or would it be best if I stuck to free popcorn and pop, and stayed relatively quiet.

Watched the most part of a Michigan hockey game in many years last night on BTN. Man are they fun to watch. Penn State put up a brave fight for half the game but Michigan's size and speed simply overwhelmed them. Some of these guys can really skate, Hughes in particular.

But most refreshing was the pace of play. I don't think BTN broke for commercial more than a couple times each period. It was just non-stop action, and having sat through that funeral march at Michigan Stadium last Saturday, I was mightily entertained.

New Big Ten hockey rules are only one TV timeout per period after the 10:00 mark.  2 less timeouts per period compared to most other hockey games.  That, along with shortened intermissions, means most games are over in 2 hours now.

For anyone that hasn't tuned in for a game yet, please do.  Amount of talent doesn't always end with results but holy hell is the power play fun to watch.  It's basically a death sentence for the opposition by taking penalties.

1. Drapes!

2. Several years ago Draper was one of the Wings that came into The Post Ferndale after he scored the winning goal in the game earlier that night to guest bartend. Essentially they just handed out free beer all night. I got to talk to him for a minute, great guy.

3. Chilliwack Chiefs is now my favorite BCHL team. I will find and buy that hat.

Update: none of their hats say Chilliwack on them, so I bought myself a t-shirt and one as a gift.
