1 day 19 hours ago	Can't post yet but someone	Can't post yet but someone else please feel free to make it a topic.  Tickets went on sale today for UM vs Stanford basketball at the Brooklyn Hoops Holiday Invitational.  Anyone who wants them can use presale code WOLVERINES in the Michigan presale box.  They were pretty expensive but for those in the NY area enjoy.  Search for that event on Ticketmaster and you're golden.

4 weeks 3 days ago	Currently Howard has a better	Currently Howard has a better save % this season than Marc-Andre Fleury, Pekka Rinne, Roberto Luongo, Ryan Miller, Carey Price, Cam Ward, Jonathan Quick, and Mike Smith.  His GAA is also better than all those players minus Fleury who is in the spot above him.  If he is "adequate" I hate to hear what you think of all of those goalies.
4 weeks 3 days ago	Sounds great and all but	Sounds great and all but that's not typically how it works.  Doesn't really show the loyalty to a player when you keep wanting to sign him to 2 and 3 year deals.  If that's all we wanted to sign him to again he likely leaves town and who could blame him?  I don't know that much more can really be asked of Howard.  In the past he's played well but lacked that one or two big time saves per game.  This season he is clearly making those and stealing games because of it.  The Wings tried to give away Sunday's game vs Nashville with short-handed breakaways and penalty shots.  Jimmy has now faced 13(!) penalty shots in his career (possibly 14 including playoffs) which is kind of an absurd number.  He pitched the shutout Sunday vs Nashville and we are lucky to have him.
4 weeks 3 days ago	Respectfully disagree.  It's	Respectfully disagree.  It's so easy to say we could have signed him for less money but is taking that risk really worth it?  Who is out there as good or better that we could replace him with?  Did you see McCollum play at all for the Wings?  I wouldn't be banking on anything I've seen from him thus far.  Mrazek definitely could be the guy down the road but you cannot bank on that either.  2 decent outings in the NHL for Mrazek doesn't mean you give up on Howard.  Ericsson and Quincey each make around 3.5M per year.  Howard at 5.3M per year is a steal compared to those 2 contracts.

10 weeks 5 days ago	Don't get me wrong as I'm	Don't get me wrong as I'm glad the US tied it up.  That handball call seemed pretty suspect to me.  I'm really surprised that it was called as it seemed to hit the Mexican defender in the midsection and glance off part of his arm after that.  Sometimes you just catch the breaks.

11 weeks 3 days ago	I agree with your assumptions	I agree with your assumptions although it doesn't seem they have narrowed down exactly how everything will work.  I'm just hoping the league sees the value of Original Six games and especially right now the Wings vs Hawks games.  Of course this means that they will probably find a way for them to play even less.  Why think of the fans for a change?
11 weeks 3 days ago	No biggie.  Hopefully they	No biggie.  Hopefully they can keep the Original Six match ups occuring a bit more frequently than the other match ups.  The restructuring of the conferences helps a bit on that.  It would definitely be a shame to not play the Hawks as much.  I will hate seeing more Leafs and Habs fans down at the Joe but at least the place will be packed.

14 weeks 6 hours ago	I definitely wouldn't count	I definitely wouldn't count that as a brain fart.  He was in proper position and the puck seemed to squirt out to an open forward on the doorstep on a power play.  If anything is was lucky for the Blues forward to have gotten that bounce.  The kid played solid all night long.  As others have said, it would be amazing to have a Rinne-like goalie steal some games.  Howard is pretty solid but this guy could be something special.

15 weeks 4 days ago	You don't even need to spend	You don't even need to spend $100.00 or anywhere close.  Every few months someone posts that magazine deal.  I paid around $12.00 for an entire 3 years of ESPN Insider (technically I get the magazine too).  It was a no brainer for me.  I'm sure it will come around again.  Once someone sees it, please post it and everyone can jump on it if they want.  I agree it's worth it especially at that price.

17 weeks 3 days ago	The goalie didn't	The goalie didn't necessarilly lose track of the puck.  It is actually quite a clever move to pull.  Almost 100% of the time when a player drags the puck between their legs in that manner, they are going to put it to one of their skates and kick it back the other way.  If you look closely you can see the shooter almost fake a kick with his right skate.  I know this may seem to be really a slight fake but that's what the goalie was expecting.  That subtle little fake made him hesitate enough for it to slowly slide in.
25 weeks 2 days ago	Don't have enough points to	Don't have enough points to start a thread but figured I would pass along this information.  The NHLPA is putting on a Charity hockey game featuring a bunch of current Red Wings players and a handful of other NHLers in Windsor on December 8th at 630pm.  Tickets went on sale today if you use the presale code FACEOFF in the code box.  I'm going through hockey withdrawals and figured there are likely a few others in the area as well.  Tickets are like 40-50 each with fees.  You can find it if you google WFCU Centre and click the presale link.  I'd post the link I was emailed but I'm not sure if it is linked to my account or not.
