The flame lighting effect is really cool. Great job on the concept, too, even if you say it's predictable. EDIT: Unless those are dim lightbulbs, then cool effect still but they sorta look like flames |
| 1 day 23 hours ago | I think Nebraska |
I think Nebraska needs two things: 1 - A new coach. Nebraska has so much to sell and Bo justs seems like he enjoys recruiting as much as Dantonio - not much. Beside being in the middle of Nebraska, their program has so much to offer in the way of facilities, fanbase, stadium, history, etc. 2 - To change the "official visit" rule earlier in the process. Since there's nothing else by it worth visiting, kids who want to visit Nebraska before September 1 of their senior year have to pay for a flight to Lincoln or Omaha. Those flights are expensive to most people, let alone kids who often don't come from the most affluent backgrounds This screws Nebraska more than anything. Tough to get the same kind of recruiting class momentum we've had when you can't get kids to visit until the season. At least when kids from NJ, Florida, etc. visit us, they can usually check out ND, OSU, MSU, etc. |

| 6 days 1 hour ago | Triple threat? |
"In an ideal world I think he sticks at nickel for his career, operating as a frequently-deployed spread antidote and triple threat (rush the passer, defend the run, cover) in a system where he is as much of a starter as anyone else on the team." So then where do you want to put Jabrill Peppers? |

Awesome. I like this. What about Arkansas? Aren't they 2017? |

Ugh the complaining in this thread is incredible. These presidents, especially at a place like Michigan, with a high-profile athletic department and massive healthcare system in addition to a 40k+ university, manage huge organizations with thousands of employees with billions in revenue, expenses, and research. You can't just expect to hire a solid candidate to lead a massive organization and not pay them. I feel like I am taking crazy pills. What do you people expect us to pay our university president? She does a lot of shit and she had better be good at it. She is. Then there's the self-righteous people that act like it's such a travesty to pay top tier football coaches what they receive - get real. It's 5th grade supply and demand. You don't have to show your indignation for the business of collegiate athletics everytime deadspin puts out some infographic you probably already knew the answer to if you had just taken 5 seconds to think about it, while likely complaining about Rich Rod not winning by the end of his 3rd year. But you wonder why they get paid a lot. Dumb. |
| 1 week 2 days ago | Yeah |
Yeah, good call. Let's get cheap with the President and Football Coach, the two most public, important, revenue and/or donation driving positions at the University. Let's save a few hundred thousand on Mary Sue and her billion dollar fundraising campaigns. And no one really cares if we have a good football coach. We don't have any real life case studies of how that scenario plays out. Also it's not like the Athletic Department funds itself. No, these must be the causes of rising tuition. States cutting university funding is a huge part of the difference, not just paying presidents more money haha. And I don't know where you pulled that stat about more administrators than professors but I refuse to think about it because I think you just made it up. |

I'm not sure if this is a funny joke, Ken-level trolling, or an honest comment. I enjoyed it. |
| 1 week 4 days ago | Shane and Kevin Dillman |
Regarding the QB mobility question, I think the idea of a "Pro/pocket Style" vs. "Dual Theat" somewhat of an outdated mindset. Shane, while no DG with his feet, isn't an immobile quarterback. He can move his feet a little and I wouldn't be surprised to see us continue to use rollouts in the same way Devin uses them. While Wilton Speight is more of your classic in the "pocket QB", he still tucks it when it's open (and maybe why he's a 2014 instead of 2013 because he thought he could run his guy over instead of busting his shoulder, but anyway...). Let's not forget Cade McNown and Jason Campbell weren't statues either. It doesn't seem like Borges is against an athletic throw-first QB. The key being throw-first. I think Chip Kelly is the same way - he doesn't want a RB that can throw, he wants a QB that can move. For 2015, an early top target for Borges has been Kevin Dillman, a Swedish-by-way-of-California QB that plays also punts and returns kicks in addition to being one of (if not the) top passers in the country (it helps he has elite D1 talent all over his receiving core but still, sophomore last year...). |

| 2 weeks 22 hours ago | HAHAHA |
HAHAHA I did this myself back in the early 90s. I was busy saving my money for a $20 lego so I was busy using crayolas. You seemed to actually put some though into it, such as having all the same position top and bottom half. I wish still I had them...my favorite frankenplayer was Desmond Skrepenak, which...yeah. Doesn't really make sense but I figured a guy that can run and catch like Des would be tougher if he was big like Skrep. |

| 2 weeks 5 days ago | Steve Clarkson |
I believe Steve Clarkson was the original and should probably be included along with those names. He's working with Wilton Speight once a month in Southern California and tutored Roethlisberger, Leinart, Barkley, Clausen, etc. etc. |

Brian - Maybe you could (or already have, although I'm here basically all the time so I doubt I missed it) expand on "paying" players. Basically the Ws - who gets paid, when, what method, and then how do you determine it? Is it a set rate for all all athletes? Set rate per sport? Negotiable prior to signing a LOI? Negotiable after being in school for a while? It's really easy to say 'pay them'. I just haven't heard a logical or feasible way to do it. |
| 2 weeks 5 days ago | Dogville |
The creepiest thing about Dogville, to me at least, is John Hurt as narrator. His voice is too similar to Anthony Hopkins, the narrator for The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. The entire time I felt like I was watching a bizzaro Dr. Seuss book on film. And then * SPOILER ALERT * dead, with some more Dr. Seuss narration. |
