Yep. I remember two things from his "speech". They held strong against UM in the first half and they will be aggressive in the playoff. It felt like he thought they were in. So,.Saban is not the only one..

I'd say time on Gameday is a lot different from him taking up the bulk of the half time coverage in a close Big Ten championship game.

So Alabama has more talent than any other team by a wide margin and they STILL lost two games and had several other close games against lesser opponents. Alabama doesn’t deserve shit losing two games with all of that talent.

There's lots that sucks about Fox and their endlessly expanding number of commercials, but maybe nothing more cringy than the way announcers immediately pipe down when someone gets injured, knowing that's seen as a chance to cut away and slip in another commercial. That always strikes me as particularly cynical.

He was making the case that this should be about selecting the 4 best teams and nothing else (eg, number of losses should not be dispositive). He justified the Bama losses as not so bad bc his team was not fully healthy, specifically identified Bryce Young's health, losses were road losses to top ten teams, and Bama plays in a tough conference, etc.
Then he said, almost verbatim: "You show vulnerability when you get beat badly at the end of the season. [In contrast,] our team has played better at the end of the season, so that's my reasoning."
Given that almost everyone believes USC is already out anyway and the only other potential teams competing with Bama for the playoffs are Ohio State and TCU and TCU lost in overtime, I think it was understood that he had specifically in mind Ohio State's loss to us in Columbus. For one, I'm glad that game is still on many people's minds.

If they get in over OSU or TCU at this point, just scrap the CFP polls altogether. Hell, scrap the regular season. Make a preseason poll, and select your playoff participants based on that, and just say fuck it to whatever happens in the regular season.
That might as well be what they do if they let Alabama in.

However, his argument is reasonable. There's always been a question about most deserving teams vs best teams. If you want the best teams, put the potential matchups on paper and ask yourselves who would be favored.
I really don't want Bama to make it, but not because I don't think they are a top 4 team
