You're right. MGoBlog is basically school for football at this point

Some people have alluded to this above, but it really seems like the best option for the offense this year will be to go pass heavy, utilizing the plethora of talent at all receiver positions, and allow the offensive line to focus on pass pros/assignments. Obviously for App State and the other early season games that we should have no trouble with, you'd hope to see some movement on the ground. But later in the season the best bet for this offense is to focus on the area in which you truly have elite talent.

Well that's it for the preview of the offense, everything looks good! Looking forward to the defensive side Brian!

Man, crazy stuff. He had to know he was most likely going to his own death trying to save those kids.
Makes you wonder if you could do what he did in a similar circumstance...

I'm sorry if I don't accept this is a legitimate excuse. You can allow your driver to drive your Porsche for you if you're so concerned with appearances, no?

It amazes me how these guys either cannot find or do not allow other people to drive them when they drink. I mean, how hard could it be for Alan freaking Branch to find someone to driver him around all year?
It really is sad to see people's careers fall apart because of this. Of course, it's much sadder to see what happens to the people that are inevitably victims when these guys get behind the wheel

That's fine - the merits of the DH are debatable, and even as a fan of an NL team myself, I think I would prefer a league in which the automatic outs are eliminated. I do think national league games are much more interesting in later innings when pitchers stop batting and managers start to get creative.
My only point is that the construction of AL rosters gives AL teams an offensive advantage over NL teams, given that the DH is generally a good hitter who is paid only to hit, while NL DHs are usually not very good hitters (most NL teams do not have very good hitters on their benches, given their inability to utilize them on a daily basis). So the AL has a fundamental advantage for the 4 extra at bats a piece that the DHs get.

Yes, a given NL lineup is slightly better in an AL park than it is sans a backup middle infielder in a home NL park. But, the AL lineups they face are generally significantly stronger than the average NL lineup, given that AL rosters are constructed around players whose sole job is to hit the ball. In other words, the added benefit of the DH in the AL lineup is much larger than the added benefit to the NL lineup

"When the NL team comes to the Tigers park....they GAIN the DH. Advantage NL."
That's some interesting logic. The big difference of course is that NL DHs are typically bench players, so by no means are they gaining an advantage in AL parks

Woodley took the league by storm, but I would much rather have Harris at this point. Woodley can't seem to stay healthy and most people seem to think it's because he can't get in shape.

While I agree in principle, this year's tourney run has me questioning whether "limited athleticism" applies to JMo.
Certainly by NBA standards he's small, but he matched up well with some very good, NBA-caliber bigs in the tourney

You also have to consider the elevation at which the crow flies. Crows that fly higher may experience less wind resistance and thus arrive quicker, but the total distance traveled will be larger due to the increase in vertical distance.
