Basketball vs. Penn State at The Palestra game thread
January 7th, 2024 at 12:04 PM ^
Juwan is making Martelli officially the head coach today because it's at The Palestra. Interesting.
January 7th, 2024 at 12:12 PM ^
Make it permanent.
January 7th, 2024 at 2:07 PM ^
Well that's good news, i was worried it was because of health reasons perhaps.
Yes, the team is performing really poorly this season but we all wish Howard the best for his health regardless.
January 7th, 2024 at 12:05 PM ^
Oh my. T-Will with an open 3 that barely grazes the rim on the first possession. Looks familiar.
January 7th, 2024 at 1:19 PM ^
One bad play doesn’t take away the fact that TWill is cooking
January 7th, 2024 at 12:06 PM ^
Shoes Burnett
January 7th, 2024 at 12:08 PM ^
Reed doing an actual post move.
January 7th, 2024 at 12:09 PM ^
Penn State's wildness makes us look in control by comparison.
January 7th, 2024 at 12:12 PM ^
PSU really misses Shrewsberry.
January 7th, 2024 at 12:15 PM ^
Go, Blue!
Beat Washington.
Also, beat Penn State.
January 7th, 2024 at 12:16 PM ^
PSU's offense looking like their football offense.
January 7th, 2024 at 12:17 PM ^
Michigan's committed the most turnovers in the Big Ten? Yikes.
January 7th, 2024 at 12:19 PM ^
I was keen to attend this game when it was announced, but my enthusiasm continued to wane from that point. I'd love to attend a game at The Palestra; maybe someday.
January 7th, 2024 at 12:20 PM ^
How did the roster end up at a point that halfway through the first half the lineup is Dug and 4 Power Forwards
January 7th, 2024 at 12:25 PM ^
The whole roster is Dug and PFs.
January 7th, 2024 at 12:22 PM ^
Penn State's pesky on D.
January 7th, 2024 at 12:24 PM ^
Tray Jackson! Oh my
January 7th, 2024 at 12:25 PM ^
Love the atmosphere here! Wish the two teams matched the environment and energy.
January 7th, 2024 at 12:30 PM ^
Tempo has picked up, a little wild though.
January 7th, 2024 at 12:34 PM ^
The furthest guy from Burnett called that foul. In fact, the guy closest (right next to that obvious hack) thought it clean. I’ve seen this guy fuck Michigan numerous times. Look for some Ref fuckery in this game.
January 7th, 2024 at 12:38 PM ^
Yoyo in the game
January 7th, 2024 at 12:39 PM ^
PSU seems to not care a lick about offensive rebounding and yet is still coming away with some.
January 7th, 2024 at 12:40 PM ^
Boy do I miss the Beilein days of valuing each possession. Sloppy turnovers are our current tradition. PS, that ball went out of bounds at least twice by PSU. Ref fuckery
January 7th, 2024 at 7:30 PM ^
Yeah, for me that's the most disappointing part of Howard's tenure. I thought he was continuing the tradition of playing sound fundamental basketball, and hopefully adding elite recruiting and a modern NBA playbook. I can understand missing or bad luck on the second two, but not emphasizing the fundamentals just seems like the simplest easiest thing to start with :/
January 7th, 2024 at 12:40 PM ^
Dug picked up his second foul with 5:14 left in the half.
January 7th, 2024 at 12:41 PM ^
Yoyo's layup was blocked
January 7th, 2024 at 12:42 PM ^
Yoyo turns it over then gets the block.
January 7th, 2024 at 12:43 PM ^
T-Will loves himself some three point shots. (Attempts, I should say.)
January 7th, 2024 at 12:44 PM ^
Michigan keeps trying to push tempo after a turnover and it keeps ending very poorly
January 7th, 2024 at 12:46 PM ^
Hey, at least this game isn’t on Peacock which means I can check in on other games like the Lions and not be channel strapped
January 7th, 2024 at 12:48 PM ^
Yoyo's 3 point attempt was a wedgie but he was fouled on the attempt and makes 1 of 3 at the line.
January 7th, 2024 at 12:50 PM ^
The score feels misleading. Many Michigan turnovers and many Penn State drives to the bucket.
January 7th, 2024 at 12:51 PM ^
The building looks a little bit like Yost with the windows.
January 7th, 2024 at 12:51 PM ^
Long stretch here with Dug on autobench. It's not even looking that different. Today with as bad as PSU is it doesn't matter much.
January 7th, 2024 at 12:53 PM ^
Cheddar misses a wild dunk attempt.
January 7th, 2024 at 12:53 PM ^
Are these guys even aware that PSU is ball hawking and playing tight defense. We should at least be aware that possessions will be contested all over the floor
January 7th, 2024 at 12:57 PM ^
Dug sitting.a lot this half.
January 7th, 2024 at 12:58 PM ^
He picked up two fouls. It is a problem with no meaningful backup.
January 7th, 2024 at 1:07 PM ^
More of that T Jackson please! and good to see JLew out there looking ok.
January 7th, 2024 at 1:20 PM ^
Yea, stupid fucking turnovers. That’s what we and the Pistons have in common. That and a terrible record
January 7th, 2024 at 1:25 PM ^
This turned south in a hurry.
January 7th, 2024 at 1:26 PM ^
This is like watching a trainwreck.
January 7th, 2024 at 1:31 PM ^
This team is fucking awful.
January 7th, 2024 at 1:32 PM ^
It's been a couple games since Dug has looked right.
January 7th, 2024 at 1:44 PM ^
Prob because he is exhausted because we have no freaking back up Point Guard. Kid plays 40 min damn near every game. Roster is a mess
January 7th, 2024 at 1:34 PM ^
TWill keeping us in this
January 7th, 2024 at 1:35 PM ^
I hate replay in general, but I hate in basketball that somehow possessions at the end of the games are the only ones that get reviewed. That was a terrible call and those points matter.
January 7th, 2024 at 1:37 PM ^
Not sure how you can be that fucking blind.
January 7th, 2024 at 1:41 PM ^
Penn State lost to MSU by 30 and we are struggling with them.
January 7th, 2024 at 1:42 PM ^
They are so badly coached it's insane. Awful rotations, constant turnovers, bad ball movement and just movement in general on offense.
All the things they're bad at, is just signs of bad coaching.
