So I guess we are in a place in our society where Nick Saban gets to free time to beg America to let Alabama please be in the playoffs. WTF?

One of the most disturbing and disgusting displays I've ever seen. Disturbing in that any major network let him do it so it shows you the power he has. If anyone ever tells you that they haven't been given preferential treatment in the past, look there. That wasn't CBS doing that! The Fox Network, the network for Big Ten Football, allowed him to come on at halftime of The Big Ten Championship Game and plead his case for a solid 5+ minutes. That's power, that's influence.

It's disgusting because his team is out-out-out and should be regardless of today's events. To stoop so low is gross and a sign that he's desperate, IMO.

I was tempted to watch Nicky prostrate himself like a dog before the B1G viewing audience.

but I couldn’t stomach the reality of it. Looks like I didn’t miss much

I mean we've been in two years of a former president yelling at us that he deserves to still be in office. So yeah... we are in that place.

Neg away.

Unpopular opinion: This was just Saban being a good coach. He should advocate for his team and his players, even if he doesn't actually believe they deserve a playoff spot (as I suspect he doesn't) it's not just about him, he's the leader of the program, and sometimes that means you've got to go embarrass yourself.

But, Fox should have never made it Nick Saban open mic hour at halftime of the Big Ten Championship.

"Bryce was injured", "we lost two games by tiny margins".  Waaaa waaaa waaaa.  How about "we should've lost two more games and finished 8-4"?

Suck off, Nick.  Most of humanity has grown tired of your schtick.

It made no sense for Fox to show that during half time of another conference's championship game. His excuses were terrible too. Yes, Bama is one of the 4 most talented teams in the country, but they're not the best. They needed to injure Texas's QB to barely get their best win of the season. Lucked out beating a terrible A&M team and an average Ole Miss team. They're good, but not one of the best and it's ok Bama. You will survive not being in playoffs for once.

IMO, Alabama is better than TCU, but, Alabama's best argument is made by propping up their 2 losses. Not a good argument. TCU has the better resume.

And how the fuck does Saban not know what "the eye test" is?

If there were to be any 2 loss team with a legitimate case to be included in the Play-off it might be Penn State based on strength of losses. The only teams they lost to were us and the Bucks.

Paul Finebaum of all people taking Saban to task for his lobbying yesterday.  Saying he looked bad for doing so.  And also mentioning it was not good of Saban using the spread to try to prove Bama is a superior team.
