From Schefter "After less than one year in Jacksonville, Urban Meyer is out as the Jaguars’ head coach, sources tell ESPN."

LSU would've sold their souls for sure.

He can't come back to any school with even a little bit of morals.

ND was always his dream job, but that wasn't happening. USC wasn't happening.

Florida just fired Dan Mullen, I don't think that was even happening had the timing been better.

Honestly, I think he's done or he's going to end up at a Liberty type doing career rehabilitation.

USF if Scott doesn't work out? A MAC school? Liberty if Freeze moves on?

Probably just back to FOX at some point. But I'm sure he'll take time off and collect those Jags checks.

He's even too hot to be an analyst right now.

I was wondering if I was the only one who felt that way...he's terrible. Does Fox think his OU/Iowa schtick is something worth seeing? I wonder if the rest of the team was hoping he'd take the OU job full-time, because he basically detracts from the quality of the rest of the broadcast. Meyer is a POS, but he was actually good in the role. Of course, his biases stood out, but the same can be said for any analyst (Woodson, Howard, Bush, etc). At least they all bring many other things to the table.

Please tell me after everything he’s done he’s not going to collect a buyout?  Honest people get laid off everyday…yet a slime ball with his track record is going to collect more money than most people could make in 10 lifetimes?  Tell me that isn’t the case.

I don't know, Creedance.  He's burned through enough garbage that it would be hard for a college to be able to say he deserves a second chance since it would actually be like a fifth chance.  Of course a lot of my predictions of "THIS ought to be enough that people can't shrug it off," have been wildly inaccurate...

I think he's much more disliked than posters here realize. I did my doctorate at UF and my wife her bachelor's there--her family grow heated at the mention of his name. He's also a massive narcissist; I don't think he's getting invitations from the premier programs, and I don't think he's humble enough for lesser ones. Don't be surprised if it isn't a bit before he's commentating on sports, then rapidly aging out, occasionally captured wandering Florida beaches.

I remember when we used to say it would be impossible to get a young up and coming coach to leave Oklahoma. We saw teams offering insane money to take their head coach jobs. We’re past the point where anything is impossible in college football. I believe Meyer could have any open job he wants.
