Speculation on another transfer

Submitted by WoodleyIsBeast on December 10th, 2020 at 10:52 PM

Could be wrong....however using conventional wisdom here.

Markus Allen(who many here know as the decommit who left once Andrel Anthony committed) just tweeted that “he knows someone that is about to break the internet”.

Giles Jackson liked and retweeted it.

Might be looking into this too much(and neg away if you feel so inclined), but this could be on the horizon.

I’m copying this from another thread where I posted this:

Michigan State currently has 5 in the portal and its reported a few more will join. Michigan currently has 3 in the portal. Zach Carpenter, Charles Thomas, and Osman Savage. Florida has 3. Georgia has 5 in the portal including Mathis, a highly rated QB. Auburn has 4, Florida State has 7. Including an extremely high rated wide receiver who is coming to IU. Clemson only has 1 this year so far, but had 4 last year. This is just the way college football is now.

Don't you understand man. Somehow Warde's action or inaction is causing all of this. If he had extended Harbaugh or fired him or something 2 weeks ago, no one would've gotten COVID and we would've beaten Ohio State and all of the top 20 players in the country would've committed to Michigan. Everything is Warde's fault

All of this could have happened regardless of Harbaugh's contract inaction. Let's not forget that this has been a common occurrence in prior years under Harbaugh. As I previously pontificated, whatever is not right within Schemy Hall has been a thorn in the side of the football program since the end of the Carr era and its not going away. The cold harsh reality is Michigan football will always be mediocre. We might see a blip of over achievement like we saw in 2011 and 2016 but there is not a culture of winning anymore and any coach that come in will be quickly neutered. Harbaugh is the latest example of that. It is now up to Juwan Howard to remake Michigan into a "basketball" school.

Juwan doesn't have to do anything but win, recruit (develop recruits), and keep the program clean, pretty good job so far. The next football coach after Harbaugh, doesn't have to do anything but win, recruit (develop recruits) and keep the program clean.

People want to complain about the fanbase and rightfully so, as a collective unit, we can be pretty awful. But to act like any college football fanbase isn't just as crazy is short-sighted. It is incumbent upon whoever is hired to make the culture their own and do whatever they can to turn this around. Now if you want to make the argument that our own people won't allow the culture to be changed, well, you might be right. The next guy really needs to let the AD (Warde or somebody else), the alums, and the fans, know that they are coming in with their own ideals and ideas.

Once everybody is on the same page, then and only then, will actual change occur. Stop believing that things can't change and that Michigan is destined for mediocrity forever. Also, leave Penelope Pitstop alone bro.

If true then, good riddance? Kid was obviously talented and had a lot of potential. But that’s not exactly the attitude you want in the locker room.

Openly complaining about the playing time of other players and questioning the decisions of the coaching staff can create a pretty toxic environment in the locker room. That’s more of a closed door with Warriner conversation: “Hey coach, I really think I should be starting. What else do I need to do to get there.”

Show the coach that you want it and are willing to work for it. Don’t sit on the sidelines and complain about other players playing. Maybe he did what I said and got nowhere. But complaining openly is only going to create tension between the players themselves and tension between the staff and players. Guys like that can end up being a cancer to a team that gets magnified when the team is struggling.

That's just it, what was said, in principal is right.  Work your ass off and improve

HOWEVER, its pretty clear that Jim's Meritocracy is nothing more than complete and utter bullshit.  He picks favorites and be damned if his favorite isn't the best.   Milton over Cade and D-Mac is a perfect example.

So my point in the above is that Zack might very well already be the better player than Vastardis and perhaps he is leaving because he knows he is better, the team knows he is better, but Vastardis fits the "Jim Harbaugh" mold so he got the start.

Lets not crush the kid until we know all the facts (which we will probably never know).  But I suspect that we will see others leave because this whole concept of Meritocracy that Jim preaches is a load of crap.

Nick Saban..now here is someone that really does live meritocracy.  The guy benched Jalen Hurts in the biggest game of the year for a True Freshman because he wasn't getting it done.  Yet here at Michigan, under Harbaugh, he just refuses to bench "his guys".    Its one thing to stick with your guy and show support, when we he fails time and time again, you have to go in a different direction.

There have been 146 FBS players that entered their name in the transfer portal just since the beginning of December. I don't know where the scholarships are going to come from for how many players are going in the portal.

Specifically, it's about how he isn't sure how all these guys that are transferring are gonna find new spots.
