Miles didn't fail at LSU.

He averaged 10 wins per year for a decade in the toughest division in college football.

Indiana hasn't been at or above .500 since 2007 which was also the 1st time since 1994.

OSU threw the ball literally 73 times in a single game.

JBB isn't exactly a placeholder for Hudson and I think that is rather critical to describe him as such. Hudson is capable of playing right now, but the coaches have decided that JBB is the better choice. It could be because of his experience or, maybe, he is just a better player right now.

137 penalty yards is far more concerning. Many coming from what is supposed to be a pretty good secondary

09/13/2018 - 10:32am Interestingly, Ball State…

Interestingly, Ball State had 4 sacks against ND and kept Wimbush in check with -7 yards rushing.

Maybe M's OLine didn't show great progress  over MAC-level competition but I don't think giving up a single sack is really the reason why.

09/05/2018 - 12:12pm Speight was already here…

Speight was already here when Harbaugh arrived. He redshirted in 2014 then was the back-up in 2015 to grad transfer Ruddock in Harbaugh's first year.

4. Win the game

Many of the courses on edX and Coursera offered by the University of Michigan and other institutions are already free to the general public. What Michigan is offering to alumni is a certificate for completing a course at no cost which is something anyone can choose to purchase.

I'm guessing the "dirty" look is from the black rubber embedded in the turf.

Season ticket holders had early access to buying additional single-game tickets (except ND) prior to selling to the public. I bought them via phone because I was unable to do so online.

06/12/2018 - 2:05pm In addition to Michigan, NW…

In addition to Michigan, NW home schedule includes Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Illinois.

I bought two season tickets at $315/ticket plus a couple extra Michigan tickets. I expect that Notre Dame will sell for at least $200/ticket.

Also, it's a statue. No shit it's "always" facing a certain direction. It can't move on its own.

04/17/2018 - 4:04pm Golf

1. The PGA Tour has recently stated that they are in favor of legalizing gambling. Players already bet. Let the spectators get in on the action on course. I imagine a betting board right next to the leader board.

2. Mid-week match play (or stroke play) in primetime under the lights. There were some rumors of such event happening but players and/or networks backed out.
A handful of matches every couple weeks between the best players in the world. Start at 6 pm. End around 9:30 or 10. Lights on the last 6 holes or so.

04/17/2018 - 10:50am College baseball

1. The season should be pushed back at least 1 month and extend further into the summer. This might help close the gap between Northern and Southern schools. The obvious issues are summer leagues and the MLB draft. Alternatively, I'd like to see baseball schedule Fall games similar to Softball.

2. The current structure of playing 3 game series in conference allows any given team to play only 7 or 8 of the other 13 teams. The schedule should be interspersed with 4 team round robins at different host sites so schools play each other at least once.

04/05/2018 - 9:14am I don't quite understand the

I don't quite understand the OPs beef with the Masters tournament coverage either. Live TV coverage on Thursday and Friday will only follow featured golfers which, unlike most other events, is rebroadcasted in a time slot more suitable for a typical work schedule. The simulcast makes for a pretty good option to get your Masters fix.

03/31/2018 - 5:03pm All this money being wasted

All this money being wasted on attorneys on both sides and all the NCAA had to do, months ago, was allow Shea (and others) to be eligible. No one would be hurt by such decision.

03/14/2018 - 11:05am What browser do you use?

I was having the same problem with my iPhone using Chrome to browse the internet. A factory reset of my phone didn't fix the issue.
I recently switched to an Android phone which I also use Chrome. My phone appears to be infected with this same virus. Except, in addition to mgoblog, this malware affects other sites and includes different pop ups. I've tried different malware software and deleting/reinstalling chrome. I plan on doing a factory reset.

That's because he is last white corner to have started a game in the NFL.

02/21/2018 - 8:15am Small hill maybe

Michigan would have finished at worst 10-2 if Speight was healthy all season.

02/17/2018 - 1:48pm Sorry on my phone

The answer to your question is apparently yes, Canadians are more outraged, at least from a poll conducted by the NHL.…

"The NHL conducted polls in both Canada and the United States to determine if fans were in favor of the League taking a break in February to allow players to compete in the Olympics. In the United States, 73 percent said they were not in favor. In Canada, it was 53 percent against the break."

BiSB: If it weren't for the contract, I'd give it an A. But... man, what happens if this REALLY isn't working out in Year 4? And how much extra pressure does that already insane fanbase apply based in large part on that contract?

Never would have thought that this question, in restrospect, would apply to Michigan. Sadly, the pressure on Harbaugh apparently started in Year 3 after losing to Michigan State.

12/12/2017 - 10:18pm I'm probably not much older

I'm probably not much older than you, but I do have a wife and a kid. I wouldn't go as far as saying I wish I was you, but God damn if I didn't say there's some jealousy. I hope you continue having fun within your means and as long as you want.

12/03/2017 - 3:16am Alabama should also not be in

Alabama should also not be in consideration given their body of work but the decision comes down to OSU and Bama.

The committee has been favoring quality wins. If that criteria csrries the most weight then I don't know how Bama gets in over OSU.

As opposed to an uncrazy halfcourt buzzer beater?

12/01/2017 - 11:37pm That seems like a circular

That seems like a circular argument. If you continuously bring in transfers then there is no need to recruit high school qbs. The caveat being that the transfers need to be successful.

I do agree however that in the current qb situation, Harbaugh (if he is really considering Patterson) is taking a risk that could potentially lead to qbs transferring.

11/30/2017 - 2:16pm Minnesota and Indiana would

Minnesota and Indiana would likely be bowl eligible if the B1G played 8 conference games.
That would make the B1G 10/14 bowl eligible teams.

Herm was on with Golic & Wingo (?). He was rather forthcoming about how he is interviewing as a courtesy to his buddy (ASU AD) but isn't really interested in the job.
Weird things happen though.

11/29/2017 - 7:05pm Option 2 doesn't explain the

Option 2 doesn't explain the apparent systematic biases. Incompetence might suggest more randomness but the spread of the data or variance suggests otherwise.

Unconscious bias seems like a more plausible explanation especially because such biases are embedded in human nature. There could be a number of factors contributing to these biases. Maybe they don't like Harbaugh or maybe they don't like the look of the winged helmet.

Speight was undefeated as a starting QB this season.

Yea, he was underperforming but I would have liked to have Speight over O'Korn or Peters in any of Michigan's losses.

11/14/2017 - 7:22am More importantly

Since the tradition started has there ever been a game in which camp Randall did not jump around because UW was getting their asses kicked by the 3rd quarter?

I hope UM can make that happen Saturday night.

Did the 300 yards rushing in the first half make Peters look legit?

I don’t really get it. He wasn’t asked to do a whole lot in this game.
