And here I was thinking he could be persuaded to come back now that he has an opportunity for NCAA tournament playing time with Ben Carter graduating.

He had built up such a reputation as "Mr. March" and "good, blue-collar guy".

Then:

- scandals

- disappointing team performance

- complete lack of player development

- another coach and team in-state stealing the spotlight, and doing all the things he was supposed to do

- players running to NBA like rats jumping off a sinking ship

Tough times in EL, for sure
