I know he was our best player this year, but this is a good thing. He is a ball dominant guard who struggles to have an impact off ball, has an obscene turnover rate and doesn't play defense. He was a fun player to watch on a bad team, but the future needs a better leader at PG.
Coaches can hold their players accountable, especially when they're acting entitled toward support staff of the program. If Juwan can't handle that happening toward his sons, he should not have recruited them. Especially because Jace Howard is a waste of a scholarship and was never a Michigan caliber player in any world
This good news the same way that it was exciting for Knicks fans when Frank Ntilikina played his rookie season and made a shot. He's not good, but the team's gonna win like 12 games and may as well have something weird happen if we're not gonna win
If she does, I hope it's treated more like when AD went to go play with those guys in 2008(?) She's not a top 5-10 player in the game -- at least she can't prove it until she reaches the WNBA. I think she also has a ceiling that can't touch some of the dominant two way players in the league (for my NBA fans, like who would you rather have on your team come playoff time, Harden or Kawhi? Both GREAT players, just ones a little more complete)
One fact about this team is that we practically sacrifice ever winning on the road because we never find an identity, especially on offense (this team has no defensive identity regardless) without Dug since he plays every home game. Juwan really should have just suspended him it's not like we were making the tournament anyway
I also don't think it's a coincidence that the defense improves a lot with Dug out of the rotation. It's not quite good, but doesn't quite reach the standard of god-awful that we seem to witness on our home floor

The fall off is should never be from nationally relevant to irrelevant in the span of 5 years. Juwan was left with a foundation of elite college players who could play defense with Wagner, Livers, and Brooks with whom he got to the Elite 8.
Ever since he has show absolutely no ability to locate or develop elite talent or manage a roster. None. Being given two years with another coaches' developmental successes is not a burden. In today's college sports, it's a massive advantage to start your coaching career.
This is the first time since 21 that I feel like there have been so many unknowns going into an offseason and part of the fun of being a college football fan is getting introduced to new players and stories every season so I'm excited to meet our new stars.
I think the portal will contain plenty of options in the spring, with QBs bailing on battles they don't see themselves winning. I'm not sure if these are guys we would want, but if the situation is looking dire enough, I could see the staff going in that direction.

He is a very good OC and he should have absolutely no issue finding playing time in that WR room that has almost no ability to separate from quality DBs. I think the biggest question will continue to be can Drew Allar actually be good? I have my doubts, but maybe having a higher caliber receiver and competent OC will help him out.

I generally like Matt Painter more than the other coaches, so yes. He's always struck me to be much more like John Beilein than other elite coaches
