I took it to mean ND fans feel what’s coming back on their o-line is just as good as what Michigan is bringing back on their d-line. They must either love Mo Hurst or they’re delusional. I’ll lean towards the latter.

Yeah, I’m not going to get excited about this one unless Michigan pummels OSU and PSU and something happens to Meyer.

5 losses last year.

13 turnovers in those game.

That shit can’t happen anymore.

I do think they could do a much better job now with the Crossfire now. The 3.6 I have in my 300 provides plenty of zip for a car that weighs roughly 2 tons. I would imagine the 3.6 for the crossfire would be impressive considering it would only weigh around 3,000 pounds and would add about 80 HP according to some quick research.

Not sure if they could find a way to squeeze a hemi in to it but that would be fun.

Being a Chrysler fan, I wish they’d bring back the Crossfire. I always thought it was a cool looking car (but before the time I could ever afford it). I saw one at a gas station a couple weeks back and it gave me nostalgia. I think I scared the piss out of the guy when I walked over to ask him about his car. Lol

I was hoping to get his honest thoughts on the offensive line and Shea personally. If someone had asked him about the OL and QB play last year his head would have probably exploded.

Sorry. It is a beautiful Sunday in Michigan today though so we’ve got that going for us.

I agree “failure” might be a little strong but if my choices are success or failure, then I’m going the way I did.

Regarding the division, I agree winning in the East is never going to be remotely close to easy.  But at the same time, at what point do we say either “not winning the division is a failure” or “we no longer expect Michigan to contend for anything and we’re content with being Tennessee north” because I feel like we’re quickly moving towards the latter.

As of 7/24/2018, approx. 12:13 PM...

It's been a failure.  Not a complete failure.  Not a dumpster fire.  But a failure nonetheless.  Starting on 9/1, it could quickly change, and I sure hope it does.  But let's think about it as of today:

  • Losing record against MSU
  • No wins against OSU, and again gave up 30+ to them twice in regulation.
  • Not even a divisional title, let alone a conference title
  • No victories in premier bowl games
  • Entering year 4, QB is still a complete question mark.  Same with the O-Line.  I think it's fair to assume everyone thought this would be the strength of the team at this point.
  • Road games against teams with a pulse continues to be the biggest roadblock of the program
  • Michigan played 5 teams with a strong pulse in year 3 and lost to all of them while turning over the ball 13 times.  That's a joke.
  • I am not so sure about the future either.  The team should be great this year, but the last decade plus has shown a road game against a ranked opponent is an automatic loss.  That means at least a 3 loss season (to all of the rivals to boot), maybe more depending on @Northwestern and home against Wisconsin and PSU.
  • Looking past 2018, recruiting is probably not at the level where we want it to be, and the schedule doesn't get any easier in upcoming years.  I don't like thinking about what Michigan would look like in 2019 assuming Gary, Bush, Hudson, Hill, Long and Shea all leave.

I know the last two are projections and aren't indicative of the present situation, but I have hard time believing people find his first three years to be a success.  I'll accept my downvotes (even though it won't affect my points) but I really hope Harbaugh has his "What's your deal" moment this fall or there isn't going to be any shine left on this staff.

A while back there was a discussion on here regarding the PBP situation and I casually mentioned Shep and a few people responded to me basically saying “nah”. I don’t really recall any reason being given. Maybe they were just a couple Shep haters that decided to comment.

Yes. It was a dumb, highly stereotypical column. It really wasn’t political in my way. I guess the eye of the beholder can decide if it should’ve been a fireable offense.

Fuck Lomas Brown. I’ve got no use for anyone that deliberately tried to get a teammate hurt. For the life of me I cannot figure out why he’s employed to discuss football.

What!? He’s a great color man. I wish he still had the same role for Michigan games. Shame on WJR.

Club Encore?

07/09/2018 - 9:22am JOK was a very large reason…

JOK was a very large reason of why Michigan lost. But it wasn’t 100% on him. Michigan did not force a single turnover in the game, even though they had one gift wrapped for them. OSU ran for almost 5 yards a carry for 226 yards. That’s not his problem either. The defense also allowed a back up QB to go 6-7 for 94 yards and a TD. JOK certainly gets an F for his performance, but the Defense probably gets a C- grade from me. So yes, JOK probably did cost Michigan the game, but Michigan still probably wins with an A performance from the D.

07/08/2018 - 2:30pm So what’s your thoughts on…

So what’s your thoughts on Megatron? All I ever heard was how great he made Stafford, he was one of the best players in NFL, hall of fame talent, etc. Yet ‘he’ went 0-16 and won nothing in his career either. So he sucks too? Barry Sanders as well?

07/08/2018 - 2:02pm You mean the same game where…

You mean the same game where the defense couldn’t hold a double digit lead?

Points scored in the first half are worth the same as the ones scored in the second.

07/08/2018 - 1:36pm Yeah, just like that game in…

Yeah, just like that game in Lambeau where he broke the lions record by throwing over 500 yards and 5 touchdowns, but he didn’t do anything to stop matt fucking Flynn for throwing his 6 touchdowns. Terrible defensive performance by Stafford in that game, his covering skills sucked.

07/08/2018 - 1:22pm I guess I’m confused. Is…

I guess I’m confused. Is Jake Long not all time great then either? I don’t see the correlation between individual greatnesses and team victories. But hey, just me.

07/08/2018 - 11:32am He barely played in two of…

He barely played in two of the games...And how is it his fault the defense gave up 42 points in 06?

Placing wins and losses on one football player (even the QB) is nonsensical, I’m sorry.

07/07/2018 - 4:32pm What a game.

What a game.

Remember it like it was yesterday...

I was a sophomore in college, desperately trying to find info on the recruitment of T. Pryor. It took me roughly another year before I started reading regularly and for some reason I didn’t make an account until 2014.

07/02/2018 - 2:54pm Kalamazoo
Pros:

I don’t…
  • Kalamazoo

Pros:

  • I don’t have kids, but the Promise is pretty cool
  • West Michigan economy is on the rise
  • Not a large downtown but the ‘mall’ has several great eating locations and bars.
  • Brewery selection can only be bested by GR
  • Rarely are there traffic problems
  • mother in law lives 2.5 hours away
  • great golf selection within a 30 minute drive

Cons:

  • In the Snow-belt. No further discussion needed
  • too many Sparties and Irish in town
  • due to the uptick in the economy, downtown living prices are going upgreatly
  • Above national average for crime in Kalamazoo proper
  • Airport only flys to three cities (at least they have one)

All in all, not a bad place to live.

So it’s too much to expect from the authors of this website to reach out in what would have been the dead of ‘the off season’ to a major contributor to the football team in the 90’s? Do you really think Jay wouldn’t have done and interview/podcast on a very popular, Michigan-centric website while he would have been trying to gather votes?

Maybe they tried and he didn’t want to give an interview. It is certainly possible.  But I have never heard of any sort of blog or website that doesn’t request interviews from anyone and only takes them from people that contact them first.

Sadly must agree. Three losses staring down Michigan right of the gate (maybe 4 depending on Northwestern) if the good guys can’t solve the ranked team-road game riddle.
