11/05/2018 - 3:32pm Some good Crazylegs history…

Some good Crazylegs history there.

More trivia. My wife and I were watching the Rams, rooting for Blake Countess (things turned out pretty damned well for him) and she asked why they were called the Rams.I had no idea. So it turns out that before they were the LA Rams the first time, they originated in Cleveland, and the owner wanted a short name that newspapers could fit in headlines and people would remember. The Fordham Rams were a big collegiate power then, so he "borrowed" the name. Fordham is still the Rams today. Prior to WW2,the Rams had gone a combined 88–20–12 for a .787 win percentage during their 1929–1942 glory years. Over that same period of time only Alabama had a higher winning percentage in all of college football. Other milestones for the Rams included a 34–7 win over Waynesburg (PA) to start the 1939 season. That contest was famous for being the first ever televised college football game.

11/05/2018 - 12:09pm Agree on everything but…

Agree on everything but contrition would be enough for me.

Some remorse or accepted one iota of responsibility for any of his actions would be fine. He has grown up some and obviously a great player, reportedly a great teammate and is definitely a nice guy. I was happy no one booed and hope he gets into the NBA HOF, reunites with the other FAB5 members, etc.

You are right that CWebb could not care less about what we think but I hope this warm welcome is a beginning of a renewed relationship between him and UM which includes him maturing a little more. Age and perspective.

Enjoy this guy while he's still on campus

We may not see another one like him for some time.

NIce to see a Freep story that isn't negative towards anyone.

11/02/2018 - 2:34pm All of your points have…

All of your points have nothing to do with his lack of contrition, other players who came from MUCH less " following the rules", and the huge damage it did on the program.

I said I am "over it" and wouldn't boo him, or anyone else. But I'm not going to CHEER the guy on until he takes a little responsibility. I sincerely hope he does.

I've been a fan and known players before the Fab5, during the FAb5 through today. Howard is the guy I will always cheer for.

CWebb and Franklin both are not the best at calling TOs

Seriously, I will just keep quiet. When he admits any sort of responsibility and contrition, most everyone will welcome him back with open arms.

Do Whatever Mrs. Ermgoblerg says

Getting parenting advice here is funny. Seriously if it's a go, take something to keep him busy (book, hand held electronics, action figures, etc) if he is not as engrossed in the game as you are.

I had two similar situations taking my young ones to blow out games. They liked the halftime show and we left right after the first score of the 3rd quarter (we were up by 3 TDs and counting) and went to get ice cream. They couldn't wait to go their next game to see the band, get ice cream, and see the cool helmets.

Swiech off the free kick sends it to Hague, but he can't control it. Kleedtke is there at the back post to tap it in and we're level!

At least OSU fans can delight in watching Joe Burrow lead LSU.

The whole OSU team with Bosa just leaving and playing with no emotional leaders is just strange. TCU was supposed their big test/win? OSU's schedule is weak(No Wisky, No Iowa, No NW) and they have shown major flaws the past three weeks.  Half the team looks like zombies. The other half aren't very smart or well coached, arm tackling, out of position, having no clue where the ball is.

UM has issues to address but The Game slowly looks more winnable.

Congrats to Tyler Trent/ Purdue, EMU, Red Wings, Pistons, and Caltech Water Polo.

New Mavs CEO is impressive

This ESPN clip should be shown too for a better understanding of what Cuban/Mavs have done to fix things.

All insulated organizations can learn from what Don Canham said in never making a one day story into a two day story (or three months).

Mr Wonderful >Daymond> Lori> Robert > Mark Cuban> Barbara on the Shark scale.

At least we now know early on there is no chance for the playoffs. Buffalo looks to be the worst team in the NFL but a top five draft pick looks promising.

Matt Guitar Murphy passed away two months ago at 88. While Aretha and Matt had huge careers outside the Blues Brothers, for most people they will always be tied to this classic scene.

I was GPN '78. We had one black student (great guy) whose family owned a car dealership. After moving to GP after the riots in Detroit where I was the minority it was quite a culture shock.

The "Children's home" has been torn down around 2008 and as the Rivers senior center and assisted living is there now it its place. The Protestant Orphan Asylum was established in 1950. It was called the Protestant Children’s Home until 1971, when the name was changed to Children’s Home of Detroit.

I played Little League in GPW in the 70's  and go back monthly to visit my folks who still live in the same house today. Grosse Pointe like most areas has changed dramatically since the 20th century with the exception of GP North baseball coach, Frank Sumbera, who was just let go after coaching the baseball team since 1973! GP Blank was an LA film but the end of Gran Torino cruising down Lake Shore Drive is the real deal.

Anyone remember LL pitching phenom Danny Almonte? He was pretty big for a reason...

08/07/2018 - 9:46am Get well soon Coach B.

Get well soon Coach B.

Very proud of the great work that is done at the UM hospital. Dr Eagle who heads the Frankel Cardiovascular Center was Bo's doctor. Lots of miracles done there every week saving Wolverines and Buckeyes alike.

06/02/2018 - 12:58pm not mentioned yet, best female singers I have seen live

The greats are great live. I love all types of music, rap to classical, but still come back to the popular classics.

An older Ella Fitzgerald still was on a different plant talent wise at Hill Auditorium in 1979.

Diana Ross returning to the Fox Theater, blocks from Cass Tech in a very emotional performance.

Barbara Streisand. Again past her prime but her voice was like buttah. Love this clip with Judy Garland (another legend, tragic). There is reallygood and then great.

05/29/2018 - 3:06pm Bob Harrison

Two time captain at UM. Won NBA titles as a teammate of George Mikan on the MInneapolis Lakers. He won the first NBA finals game on a last second half court shot. Was a very good NBA player, later coached Harvard and is still alive. Stunned I have not heard of him at all. Also scored 139 points in an 8th grade game which is some sort of record, lol.

Sounds like an interview for John U Bacon or Brian. This is all I can find about his personal story. Would love to know about his struggles as a Native American athlete.

05/29/2018 - 2:09pm Rob Pelinka and complete list from 2016

was first UM player to be in three Final Fours, and Laker GM, was an agent for Kobe, Iguodala, and many others, had to have won at least a 4 % bonus of some NBA championship money.

Here is the list of players from two years ago by school.…

05/26/2018 - 5:02pm Did he make himself bigger?

Did he intend to block the ball?

Was it an unnatural arm position?

Could he avoid being hit , enough time to react?

These are some of the questions refs ask when making a call/ no call. I’d say no to all of them and proper call by the CR who was in proper position to make the call.
