Trevor Keegan Commits To Michigan Comment Count

Michigan picks up a presumably final OL commit in this class:

Penn State and Georgia were the other main contenders, with Georgia briefly surging into a crystal ball lead a couple of months ago. Keegan's a mid-to-high four star ranked #163 on the composite and is a true tackle prospect, which was a priority after James Hudson left. Trente Jones is also clearly a tackle; the other four guys in the class probably project to the interior. Let's hope this six-man class works out much much better than Michigan's most recent six-man OL class, which spat out one year of Patrick Kugler starting and nothing else.

Hello post Monday.

I don't think they would have pre hudson leaving. Now, I think they have to.  Realistically in two years 2-3 of these OL commits won't be on the roster anymore for whatever reason.  That plus only taking 2 last year and I think that means Ike is a take.  Ike might not want to commit with so many other OL commits but that is a different problem haha

I like Ike as a prospect. If they take a 7th guy I think you're right that's because Hudson left. Or maybe there's OL attrition we don't see coming (I see some coming).

They took a ton of guys two years ago which contributed to the smaller class last year. There were obviously other bigger factors there but it's so damn easy to negative recruit when you can point at a roster and spin it as "they took 5 tackles last year."

Coaches are just in on so many dudes and things like a 2nd running back are suddenly perhaps more pressing than a 7th OL.

With the amount of attrition we have, and the lack of sure-fire OTs already there, I think it's pretty reasonable to go heavy on OL until things start getting a little more steady.

Warinner has been such a great addition. It's amazing to see what a well coached OL looks like after Drevno and Drevno/Frey.

Great GET! It doesn't take the sting out of our recent loss of Dax Hill (I know different postion) but at least doesn't feel like the gloom and doom I felt last week when that happened.  It seems we FINALLY have a bit higher OLine quality coming in the door. Yes this last year was a light years improvement on the line, but we still need to step up a another notch. We have a room full of QB's, our receivers are as good as anyone's. Charbonnet looks to be the real deal at RB, TE ? check. Now, just build that line!   I think Safety is now really the position of greatest need. (anyone thinks we're flipping him back is dreaming)
