Your take: Will Isaac get drafted?

Like everyone, I think he'll be a UDFA, but a highly sought after one, since there's a lot of upside there. Wouldn't be surprised if he's an out of nowhere fantasy darling in a couple years.

He's never shown himself possibly to contribute at that level on a consistent basis. I don't like this, but show us the evidence to the contrary. I wish every Wolverine and fan the very very best this season. Good luck and much love to all including Ty.

THe NFL is about 2/3rds or more passing so a RB needs to be a good pass blocker, a good pass catcher and then a classic runner.

From what I recall he seems to attack the proper gaps and has good leg power. He is pretty good at breaking the first tackle or two. He tended to gain yards when others in the stable were having trouble. He doesn't have a juke move but has good straight line speed. He can catch passes. Pass blocking question marks. I think he'll get drafted late, probably 6th or 7th round.

No. NFL RBs are as tough as nails (run backwards/off-balance as you know you are about to get destroyed by a full speed 240 LB to get an extra 1/8 of a yard). Isaac doesn't seem like he has that mentality (can't blame him)*

No, I don't think Isaac will get drafted, but a team that knows how to use pass-catching running backs would be advised to take a long, hard look at him.

I'm sure Belichick could find some use for him.

Issac is a high-priority free agent signing--he'll kill it at the combine. He doesn't have the film to get drafted though.

no - but hell certainly get his shot to impress during camp
December 13th, 2017 at 10:08 PM ^
I could see him being a late-round flyer. He's got the physical tools, and if he can impress in camps and the combine I could see a team seeing him as a situational player who has some upside.

But I think he will make a team for sure. If he can stay injury free, stay tuned. It shouldn't come as a surprise. Just watch.

It ain't the yards.
It's the fumbles.

-He has good vision which led to some big plays, but he goes down easily on contact and never fights for extra yards.
-He has ball security issues.
-He is very injury prone.
-If there isn't a gaping hole he is mostly ineffective.
He will more than likely sign as a free agent, but more than likely won't get drafted.

It's interesting how he got all the gaping holes while other players didn't. I guess the defenses got bad when Isaac came in the game, but they were really stout with De'Veon Smith and some other backs in there.

I wasn't saying that other running backs didn't have large holes as well. I am just stating that if Isaac doesn't have a hole he struggles to make a play out of nothing. He goes down at first contact a lot. Higdon and Smith ran hard and rarely get taken down on first contact. He doesn't seem to have the ability to make something out of nothing.
December 14th, 2017 at 9:02 AM ^
...or maybe he has the vision and patience to actually find the holes, something that Derrick Green and De'Veon Smith struggled with.
