Not too worried about the loss- there will be a few more coming most likely, possibly on Friday night in Bloomington. We have a great chance to win the conference, so we need to win the games we are expected to win. I have a feeling that MSU will only have 2-4 losses in conference, so we’ve got to right the ship quickly.

01/18/2019 - 6:45pm Yup. All it takes is a bad…

Yup. All it takes is a bad day of shooting and the other team to get hot and you lose. Almost every top 10 team every year has a bad loss or two

01/15/2019 - 10:02pm It’s a bit premature to rule…

It’s a bit premature to rule 2019 to be of the same caliber as the 2013 team. 2013 brought home a banner, 2019 has a good chance to do so but is a long way from a banner, so I’d give the hypothetical match up edge to 2013. We still have a lot to learn about this team.

01/14/2019 - 9:04pm Number 1 would be nice to…

Number 1 would be nice to have for some PR, but what really matters are the banners. Big Ten Regular Season. Big Ten Tournament. Final Four. There are lots of really good teams every year that don’t hang any banners. I like our chances to get one, but I won’t be shocked if we don’t.

17-0 is special. 18-0 will be one hell of a challenge against Wisconsin.

I thought the spin of the ball changed and the ball touched White’s finger

01/12/2019 - 6:50pm The Big Ten is deep this…

The Big Ten is deep this year. UM and MSU are elite, but the second tier of teams is also very very good- Wisconsin, Indiana, Maryland, OSU, Purdue, and Iowa. There won’t be very many easy wins to come across this year.

01/10/2019 - 10:18pm Nice win, although it made…

Nice win, although it made me nervous the entire time, I don’t think we ever trailed in the game.

This game is frustrating as hell

01/10/2019 - 6:42pm I wouldn’t call this a fluff…

I wouldn’t call this a fluff piece. It provides some good insight into the mechanics of the shot and why it is used versus other shots.

01/10/2019 - 3:34pm It’s nice to have two or…

It’s nice to have two or three guys who could be on this list. Iggy, Poole, and Matthews are all worthy of some recognition. Not many teams have that luxury.

01/06/2019 - 10:40pm Bama will probably win.

Bama will probably win.

01/06/2019 - 8:17pm Fantastic start by Beilein…

Fantastic start by Beilein and the team. 15-0 is impressive. I’m trying to not get too excited because a loss is virtually inevitable, but it’s good to see this team firing on all cylinders.

01/03/2019 - 10:05pm Good comfortable win. We…

Good comfortable win. We controlled the game and did what we needed to do. Indiana will be tougher, especially without Livers.

12/31/2018 - 1:37pm I haven’t seen Harbaugh get…

I haven’t seen Harbaugh get fired up over a call in a long time. The team can feed off of his intensity if he shows it. Even Beilein does it once in a while. Harbaugh is better when he isn’t a stoic.

12/30/2018 - 8:19pm Not many teams have a PG…

Not many teams have a PG returning from a NC game appearance. He has a lot of experience, which is a huge asset for us.

12/28/2018 - 10:26pm That’s a tough schedule but…

That’s a tough schedule but it’s mitigated by the fact that the three toughest games are at home in MSU, OSU, and ND.  Iowa, Wisconsin, and Penn State could pose a challenge as well, especially if our defense is no longer automatic. Does Notre Dame return Ian Book? If so that game will be very difficult, as he is elite.

12/27/2018 - 6:49pm Despite the 62 point OSU…

Despite the 62 point OSU game, Don Brown’s stock is still the highest it will be, because the defense will likely take a step back next year with the losses of Gary, Winovich, and Bush

12/22/2018 - 11:32pm We might have a chance at…

We might have a chance at being ranked #1 at some point. When all is said and done it won’t matter too much. We have a lot of basketball left to play, and because the Big Ten is deep this year it would be a hell of an accomplishment to win the conference. Tempering expectectations because the team has shown some weaknesses against inferior  competition. That will catch up with us sooner or later.

12/20/2018 - 5:07pm I wouldnt put too much stock…

I wouldnt put too much stock in Milton’s HS completion percentage. Milton had to work with high school receivers, and if they aren’t great that could definitely take his percentage down 5-10%. Also given the fact that Milton throws with very high velocity it could be even more than that.

12/17/2018 - 2:12pm I’m not getting my hopes up…

I’m not getting my hopes up on getting a one seed. I think it’s more likely we get something in the three to five range when all is said and done.

12/15/2018 - 10:35pm NBA atmosphere is terrible…

NBA atmosphere is terrible compared to Crisler for an average regular season game. The game itself is the entertainment not the jumbotron

12/06/2018 - 10:23pm For me, it would be very…

For me, it would be very satisfying. Beilein deserves a title. It would also make an irrefutable case that our basketball program is elite and approaching blue blood territory. We are close to that point now, but not quite. Football may be slightly more satisfying, but only slightly.

11/30/2018 - 10:15pm This is the best start that…

This is the best start that I can remember for Michigan basketball. We look like a Big Ten and National Title contender. If North Carolina, Villanova, and Providence are actually good teams then we have truly been impressive. Purdue will be another good test. If we can beat Purdue by double digits I’m definitely buying the hype on this team.

I thought we were going to take a step back this year with the loss of Moe, MAAR, and D-Rob, but we might be a better team. Iggy has filled the gap well, and others are contributing more as well. I’m cautiously optimistic about the season. A lot can change, and the Big Ten is very good this year.

11/30/2018 - 9:42pm I’m anxious to see McCaffrey…

I’m anxious to see McCaffrey play. I don’t think he’s necessarily better than Shea, but he does have the ‘it factor’. He has a good arm and excellent wheels. He is the best run threat we’ve had at QB since Denard. We are fine at QB whether Shea stays or not.

11/29/2018 - 10:54pm Eli Brooks is quietly…

Eli Brooks is quietly turning into a consistent scorer. I think he is due for a break out. As far as the freshman, it’s hard to say. I could see Castleton getting some time if we need a 5 and are in foul trouble. Johns is probably the most likely to get playing time at the 4 or 5. We are pretty set at the 4 this year with Iggy and Livers, so Johns will really have to earn his minutes. I’d be surprised if DeJulius breaks into the lineup given how well Simpson and Brooks are playing.

11/29/2018 - 10:19pm Very sad. Melanoma might be…

Very sad. Melanoma might be the most dangerous form of cancer. It spreads like wildfire once it gets beneath the skin. It’s a good idea to see a dermatologist annually even if you’re young. It’s also a good idea to check your skin for changes on a monthly basis.

11/18/2018 - 3:37pm I think we will be fine in…

I think we will be fine in basketball this year. Our defense is legit. Our offense will get better with Beilein’s guidance.

11/18/2018 - 1:50pm Our defense is playing well…

Our defense is playing well so far. Offense leaving a bit to be desired.

11/11/2018 - 10:06pm Indiana has been really…

Indiana has been really tough for us the last few years.

2015 - OT

2016 - competitive into the second half. The snow saved us.

2017 - OT

We will get a good game from them.

11/10/2018 - 10:16pm Not sure what to make of the…

Not sure what to make of the game. Defense looks good, but the offense leaves a lot to be desired. Good thing we have an offensive genius as a coach, as I think Beilein will be able to turn it around.

11/04/2018 - 7:31pm We’ve looked really good,…

We’ve looked really good, but I don’t think we have turned the corner yet. Still have the big game on November 24th.

Let the first to have never said anything negative about a player cast the first stone. He made a mistake. He knows it.  Let it be.

Shirt signed by Bo at his last OSU game.

07/29/2018 - 3:55pm We might be deeper than last…

We might be deeper than last year. We return three starters from a team that went to the NC.

We return the best Defensive PG in the country. We also add a promising Freshman to the PG mix.

We lose MAAR, but have Jordan Poole replace him. Poole might be the most talented player Beilein has ever had. He has NBA written all over him.

Livers will get better offensively and plus we add Johns to the mix, who might be even better.

Matthews will likely improve his shooting. If he does not, we have Brazdeikis, a borderline five star to replace him.

Teske will be better than expected. He will probably be a double double guy consistently if he is hitting 30 minutes.

Unless the offense takes two steps backwards, this is a top 25 team at worst.   We might be a top 5 team again if we see improvement at the right positions.

07/04/2018 - 10:55am Many people don’t know that…

Many people don’t know that Thomas Jefferson passed on the 50th anniversary of  July 4th, 1776 declaration. On his death bed, he wrote a letter in which he declined an invitation to the celebration, with some beautiful words:

“May it be to the world, what I believe it will be, (to some parts sooner, to others later, but finally to all,) the Signal of arousing men to burst the chains, under which monkish ignorance and superstition had persuaded them to bind themselves, and to assume the blessings & security of self-government. that form which we have substituted, restores the free right to the unbounded exercise of reason and freedom of opinion. all eyes are opened, or opening, to the rights of man. the general spread of the light of science has already laid open to every view. the palpable truth, that the mass of mankind has not been born with saddles on their backs, nor a favored few booted and spurred, ready to ride them legitimately, by the grace of god. these are grounds of hope for others. for ourselves, let the annual return of this day forever refresh our recollections of these rights, and an undiminished devotion to them.”

A recent study showed that it’s not stress itself that causes health issues, rather that our views on stress have more to do with it.

If you see stress as something that can be useful you are less likely to have a health problem.

Look up “How to make stress your friend” on YouTube. Kelly McGonigal will change your life.

06/04/2018 - 12:08am Yeah, the honeymoon is over

Yeah, the honeymoon is over from my perspective. My excitement has been tempered by the results so far. I think we can do really well this year, but there’s no reason to boast about our chances until we prove it. Once we have a breakthrough though, I don’t think there is any going back.

06/03/2018 - 9:41pm This is going to drive me

This is going to drive me nuts until we get word that he is staying. Beilein is such a perfect representative of Michigan that a part of my soul would die if he left. I just think of all the great moments Beilein has had over his Michigan career that he wouldn’t be able to have in the pros. His job is much more meaningful here where he can change lives.

06/02/2018 - 11:38am I heard yesterday on

I heard yesterday on Valenti’s show that Josh Bartelstein is with the Pistons front office, and might have something to do with the meeting, he’s a former Beilein player. This could all be out of courtesy. Beilein could just be helping the pistons.

06/02/2018 - 11:34am If Beilein leaves, Warde is

If Beilein leaves, Warde is done.

06/01/2018 - 4:09pm There will be many tears shed

There will be many tears shed by me whenever he decides to leave Michigan. He is a perfect representative of our university and I hope he stays until his retirement.

05/11/2018 - 3:43pm I’m cautiously optimistic

I’m cautiously optimistic now. I think Beilein has proven himself beyond all doubt. 2013 was not a fluke. Recruits are seeing Michigan as a team with a legitimate chance to win the National Championship every year.

05/10/2018 - 1:21pm Then they should stop

Then they should stop recruiting rapists. Recruit young men of character and a lot of these incidents don’t happen. Izzo and Dantonio just don’t look at character when recruiting like Beilein and Harbaugh.
