Capitalism is Communism if you go full circle.

Let the first to have never said anything negative about a player cast the first stone. He made a mistake. He knows it.  Let it be.

Shirt signed by Bo at his last OSU game.

07/29/2018 - 3:55pm We might be deeper than last…

We might be deeper than last year. We return three starters from a team that went to the NC.

We return the best Defensive PG in the country. We also add a promising Freshman to the PG mix.

We lose MAAR, but have Jordan Poole replace him. Poole might be the most talented player Beilein has ever had. He has NBA written all over him.

Livers will get better offensively and plus we add Johns to the mix, who might be even better.

Matthews will likely improve his shooting. If he does not, we have Brazdeikis, a borderline five star to replace him.

Teske will be better than expected. He will probably be a double double guy consistently if he is hitting 30 minutes.

Unless the offense takes two steps backwards, this is a top 25 team at worst.   We might be a top 5 team again if we see improvement at the right positions.

07/04/2018 - 10:55am Many people don’t know that…

Many people don’t know that Thomas Jefferson passed on the 50th anniversary of  July 4th, 1776 declaration. On his death bed, he wrote a letter in which he declined an invitation to the celebration, with some beautiful words:

“May it be to the world, what I believe it will be, (to some parts sooner, to others later, but finally to all,) the Signal of arousing men to burst the chains, under which monkish ignorance and superstition had persuaded them to bind themselves, and to assume the blessings & security of self-government. that form which we have substituted, restores the free right to the unbounded exercise of reason and freedom of opinion. all eyes are opened, or opening, to the rights of man. the general spread of the light of science has already laid open to every view. the palpable truth, that the mass of mankind has not been born with saddles on their backs, nor a favored few booted and spurred, ready to ride them legitimately, by the grace of god. these are grounds of hope for others. for ourselves, let the annual return of this day forever refresh our recollections of these rights, and an undiminished devotion to them.”

A recent study showed that it’s not stress itself that causes health issues, rather that our views on stress have more to do with it.

If you see stress as something that can be useful you are less likely to have a health problem.

Look up “How to make stress your friend” on YouTube. Kelly McGonigal will change your life.

06/04/2018 - 12:08am Yeah, the honeymoon is over

Yeah, the honeymoon is over from my perspective. My excitement has been tempered by the results so far. I think we can do really well this year, but there’s no reason to boast about our chances until we prove it. Once we have a breakthrough though, I don’t think there is any going back.

06/03/2018 - 9:41pm This is going to drive me

This is going to drive me nuts until we get word that he is staying. Beilein is such a perfect representative of Michigan that a part of my soul would die if he left. I just think of all the great moments Beilein has had over his Michigan career that he wouldn’t be able to have in the pros. His job is much more meaningful here where he can change lives.

06/02/2018 - 11:38am I heard yesterday on

I heard yesterday on Valenti’s show that Josh Bartelstein is with the Pistons front office, and might have something to do with the meeting, he’s a former Beilein player. This could all be out of courtesy. Beilein could just be helping the pistons.

06/02/2018 - 11:34am If Beilein leaves, Warde is

If Beilein leaves, Warde is done.

06/01/2018 - 4:09pm There will be many tears shed

There will be many tears shed by me whenever he decides to leave Michigan. He is a perfect representative of our university and I hope he stays until his retirement.

05/11/2018 - 3:43pm I’m cautiously optimistic

I’m cautiously optimistic now. I think Beilein has proven himself beyond all doubt. 2013 was not a fluke. Recruits are seeing Michigan as a team with a legitimate chance to win the National Championship every year.

05/10/2018 - 1:21pm Then they should stop

Then they should stop recruiting rapists. Recruit young men of character and a lot of these incidents don’t happen. Izzo and Dantonio just don’t look at character when recruiting like Beilein and Harbaugh.

05/10/2018 - 8:29am If true, it’s despicable and

If true, it’s despicable and he should be in jail. Unfortunately, we have no way of determining whether the allegations are true 22 years later, short of new DNA evidence. I don’t think the Lions will fire him, but who knows?

05/09/2018 - 5:04pm I think your argument that

I think your argument that tanking in the NFL isn’t as successful is spot on.

1. There are more draft rounds (7 vs. 2). Teams that didn’t tank have more opportunity to make up for their draft position with smart picks.
2. There are more players on the field and on the roster. Depth is more important, and it will take a lot longer to build a great team by drafting alone.
3. It’s easier to scout basketball than football for the top picks. You know a top pick when you see it in basketball. Size, speed, athleticism, and shooting ability are all pretty evident in basketball when paired with statistics. Whereas in football, we can see that Saquon Barkley is very talented, but some of his success can be attributed to the system and good line play. A lot of guys that are freaks in college football like Reggie Bush just don’t pan out in the NFL.

05/06/2018 - 5:50pm Rings vs Stats

If you value rings more, you are more likely to say MJ, he was a great winner. If you value career stats, you are probably going to lean more toward LeBron. I think LeBron still needs a couple more rings to have a clear edge over MJ. If he gets it this year going through Golden State, I will be extremely impressed.

05/06/2018 - 2:53pm I’d argue that in state

I’d argue that in state recruiting is critical to our success. Getting a top player from in state also weakens MSU, which desperately needs in state recruits to have moderate success. They can’t recruit nationally. It’s no coincidence that Carr dominated in state recruiting and also dominated MSU. Rich Rod gave Dantonio the opportunity when he spent all his time in Florida.

05/06/2018 - 2:06pm Nothing wrong with a tall QB.

Nothing wrong with a tall QB. If he has decent athleticism, he has the frame NFL scouts drool over.

05/05/2018 - 8:43pm Disgusting behavior. I

Disgusting behavior. I understand they are kids and make mistakes, but why isn’t there an ounce of empathy?

05/04/2018 - 1:19pm The article is interesting

The article is interesting and the issue needs to be resolved, and I’m confident it will be. Your moral high ground, equivocating this with MSU, and Freep, is what is getting you negged.

05/04/2018 - 8:42am Good.

Good.

05/03/2018 - 3:04am Jury is still out on him. I’d

Jury is still out on him. I’d say he has exceeded expectations so far, but will that trend continue?

05/03/2018 - 2:51am Aaron Rodgers. Very good

Aaron Rodgers. Very good quarterback, but his fans often try to argue he is better than Brady and that he can be the Michael Jordan of football. He has been on talented teams with good defenses and still only has one Super Bowl win.

Nothing beats the thrill of a 100 pound tarpon jumping on the end of your line.

Any good places near Ann Arbor accessible by land and not overly crowded? Looking to catch bass, pike, walleye, etc.

05/01/2018 - 8:21pm Ashley’s, Rick’s, Charley’s,

Ashley’s, Rick’s, Charley’s, and Hopcat. I miss Habana and Rush.

05/01/2018 - 7:10pm I think the main argument for

I think the main argument for MSU is their favorable schedule, as the article points out. They get Michigan and OSU at home. They play PSU and Nebraska on the road. It’s not that hard to see them winning three out of those four and finishing with one conference loss. Even though they aren’t a top 5 team talent wise, their schedule could get them to a good place.

05/01/2018 - 12:34am First off I think the fact

First off I think the fact that you have taken the time to research for your son is commendable. Have you talked to your son about it? He is probably old enough to understand the risks in layman’s terms. I think that as long as he is well informed about the risks then you can have peace of mind and he will respect you for it.

05/01/2018 - 12:24am You can have all of those

You can have all of those things without risking life long brain damage. There are less dangerous sports that provide the same benefit.

04/30/2018 - 9:54pm I thought 2015 and 2017 MSU

I thought 2015 and 2017 MSU were both brutal. We were probably the better team both years but shit all over the bed at key moments

04/30/2018 - 8:14pm I played football for about

I played football for about 10 years and I wish I didn’t, at least not for that long. I love the sport and it taught me discipline but it has taken a toll on my body with debilitating arthritis and a gimp knee. The thought that the sport may have also reduced my cognitive function, even if by only a fraction of a percentage scares the shit out of me. I’d encourage parents to give careful consideration before allowing kids younger than high school to play. Personally, I wish I just focused on basketball.

04/28/2018 - 11:36pm Patterson actually provides

Patterson actually provides an outsider’s perspective on the defense. He has played in the SEC and seen some of the best defenses in the country. High praise from him is a meaningful good sign.

04/26/2018 - 9:45pm It’s not just the ball

It’s not just the ball bouncing the wrong way, but the injury bug. Someone will get injured this year, and if that happens at a key position that can ruin a season. Last year’s team wins 10 games if Speight doesn’t get injured. Shit happens.

04/26/2018 - 4:28pm If you look at the last 7

If you look at the last 7 years , not many will have a better resume than Beilein.

6 tournament appearances
2 B1G regular season titles
2 B1G tourney titles
4 sweet sixteens
2 final fours
2 championship appearances

Beilein is definitely top 5 if we look at it with a recency bias.

04/26/2018 - 8:06am The word racist is just used

The word racist is just used too damn much today. It used to be reserved for people who really really hated other races, and would fully acknowledge their hate publicly. Now it is used as a weapon against people who probably have biases, but are a long way from hating other races, and will actually apologize when accused of being racist because they are sensitive about the subject. A true racist would just acknowledge their hate with no apology and continue their actions. There are surely a good number of closet racists, but I don’t see how you can easily differentiate that from a non-racist without also accusing a good number of people who are sympathetic to racial issues, but had some kind of slip up. The word “racist” loses a lot of its meaning when it doesn’t distinguish between a Neo Nazi party member and your uncle who made an insensitive joke.

Where does Reschke fall on this spectrum? If I had to guess, I would say he was just pissed and was trying to say anything to hurt the other guy, but he could be a closet racist if he uses that term regularly in private. We simply have no way of knowing his true character unless we have more information. His teammates are a good source.

04/25/2018 - 11:07am Scathing title to the

Scathing title to the article:

“MSU is a cesspool of abuse and indifference is bottomless”

That is about as harsh as it gets in the media as they won’t use curse words.

04/23/2018 - 5:00pm I doubt this game will be as

I doubt this game will be as good as EA’s NCAA Football. That’s still my favorite game by far.

04/23/2018 - 8:24am I think McCaffrey has a

I think McCaffrey has a higher ceiling so he is likely to improve faster, I don’t think it would necessarily mean that Peters has regressed.

04/22/2018 - 11:31pm Too long of a wait. When fall

Too long of a wait. When fall camp starts I’ll get football fever, but until then I find it much easier to just enjoy other aspects of my life than focus on the number of days to a game. It’s like focusing on the clock at work, it goes so much slower when you look at it more.

04/22/2018 - 8:21pm My intuition says that if

My intuition says that if Patterson isn’t granted eligibility that McCaffrey finds a way, he strikes me as being a natural leader.

04/22/2018 - 5:44pm The Pacers Cavs game will be

The Pacers Cavs game will be interesting. If LeBron goes down 3-1 I don’t see him winning the series.

04/21/2018 - 2:03pm I think Nebraska is a 7-5 or

I think Nebraska is a 7-5 or 8-4 team this year. They will be better than last year. They have talent on their roster and the previous regime didn’t get the most out of them. They are going to be looking for a signature win early in the season. I’ll be happy if we just beat them, no matter the score.

04/21/2018 - 9:52am Brooks did start for several

Brooks did start for several games last year, Simpson just took it to an elite level. Brooks will be a fine point guard for us, and if he doesn’t see playing time next year, it would be because DeJulius is really really good.

04/20/2018 - 5:24pm Levels was our intro song for

Levels was our intro song for the 2013 Final Four game against Syracuse. That made me a bigger fan of his. Sad story.

04/17/2018 - 7:28pm I mean... your username

I mean... your username doesn’t disprove my point, just saying.

04/17/2018 - 7:24pm Never said I represent

Never said I represent everyone, I have my opinions and obviously the vast majority of people here disagree. I did not realize my opinion would be that controversial frankly.

04/17/2018 - 7:22pm This is the last time I try

This is the last time I try arguing against a cult of personality. I introduced an idea that MAYBE it could have been handled better and am met with pure fanaticism.

04/17/2018 - 7:16pm Just as much a fan as you, I

Just as much a fan as you, I have an opinion you don’t like, have a nice day.
