Malik "Top 10 ain't good enough for me" McDowell falls out of the first round

Submitted by SAMgO on

I'm sure many of you remember this quote:

"Top 10 ain’t good enough for me, I ain’t leaving if I’m (only) Top 10. If I’m not top three, I don’t leave."

Pride comes before the fall.

This is what happens when you are called out by multiple teams as being maybe the stupidest, most arrogant person they interviewed. As good as he is, isn't the book on him that he isn't coachable?

I wouldn't go quite that far, but it is probably a good description on him reaching his actual potential.

At times he looked unblockable; however, this year he just looked like another moron wearing very dark cyan green, getting blocked, and breaking the rules in an attempt not to get blocked.

He's gonna get taken next round I would think, but your character and habits are built over time, not in one day of pro camp.  He wanted "no go to class, hot chicks, no accountability, and special treatment."  He's finally paying his tuition bill.

I don't want to shit on the kid dropping in the draft, but you have to at least pretend you enjoy playing the game from time to time if you expect to be seen as a high potential professional.

We, as Michigan fans, are better than that.

We just had TWO guys drafted in the first round.

That's what we should be focusing on. Not MSU.

That thread should be enshrined somewhere as the absolute epitome of delusional fandom.

Spartans gushing over his high character and status as an exemplary student-athlete in a program that is stacked with them..... just... wow.

The irony of the several posts espousing how he is so indicative of the kind of program that Dantoni has built is downright delicious and given everything that has been exposed about how terrible and toxic the environment has been, completely ludicrous in how absolutely off base they are from reality.

A small part of me wants to hunt around on that board to see how they are managing to excuse the three different sexual assault investigations going on, but my faith in humanity as taken a massive beating as of late, so I will just have to take a pass.

Now it's time to continue by laughing at MSU again as their best player from last year "Top 10 ain't good enough for me" is apparently such an uncoachable, arrogant windbag that he dropped out of the first round entirely

After the decade of crap that program gave America, I am thoroughly enjoying every second of their steady demise

I feel kind of bad for his mother. She saw that MSU wasn't a good fit from a mile away, but her kid -- who had all the potential in the world with not enough discipline -- didn't listen.

He shouldn't be surprised. He's been described as having character issues and a as guy who takes plays off. When NFL scouts come out and make it known publicly that he had a god-awful interview, he shouldn't be the least bit surprised that he fell out of the first round.

pass rusher, a shitty run defender, having trouble with offensive lineman, especially when dealing with more than one blocker. His attitude has always been questionable, he is notorious for taking plays off. His presentation is arrogrant and narcissistic. No wonder teams are wary of his ability to consistently give his all. He is an entitled prick, groomed by entitled pricks; Coach D the king of them. I feel no empathy for his drop, he will still get a contract and make a decent salary, at least for a while.

I am starting to think it might be about time for a series of random photos tagged with "Things draftered before Malik McDowell" if he does a Cousins-like fall through the rounds to the middle of the draft. I think that could  be pretty funny if we all participated.

The latest in a long line of great ND QB's, who proclaimed himself a cross between Tom Brady and Cam Newton, still on the board after three other QB's taken.
