Today is Don Brown Day
December 20th, 2015, Don Brown accepted the job to become Michigan football's Defensive Coordinator after DJ Durkin left to lead the Maryland Terps. A quick look at the stats reminds us that yes, he did make this defense extremely good in just one season. What's your favorite Don Brown moment of the 2016 season? Mine would be when he was asked during the offseason what he would change and he responded, "If I tell you, I have to take you out".

When Don Brown does pushups he isn't lifting himself up he is pushing the world down.

My favorite defensive moment was probably the first couple Penn State drives. It was made so very clear that PSU was going to get nothing that day. Even more impressive in hindsight, too.

I feel fairly confident that if we met Penn State on the field again this year that we'd give them a very similar whoopin'. Maybe not by 5 TDs, but I'd say by 2-3 anyway. Their offensive gameplan is nothing more than throwing up Hail Mary's and hoping for the best. Just amazing how awful Wisconsin's secondary was in trying to prevent it.
Barkley has never looked anything but ordinary when he's played us. McSorely spent the entire day running for his life. Those guys were outclassed in every possible facet of the game that day.

Defense did improve from last year, but we also started 10 seniors and 1 RS Junior (Peppers). Returning guys like that would make me look like a good coach.

who contributed to that 11-2 Sugar Bowl season, which initially made Hoke look good. So I would not say your statement about 2007-2014 (Harbaugh started in '15) is totally accurate.

The entire Rutgers game. I mean, seriously, they didn't get a 1st down until half way through the 4th quarter. I frequently watch the Every Defensive Snap video of that game on Youtube when I just need to feel awesome about something.

When Don Brown says line up in a 4-3, you line up in a 4-3.
Quickly.

Looking at this pic actually reminds me of the old (sigh) movie "The Untouchables" where Robert DeNiro as Al Capone is lecturing his capos on teamwork before proceeding to bash one of the guys heads in.

I am pretty sure that, one time, Don Brown blitzed Death, tackled it for a loss and forced it to punt back to him.
In all seriousness, incredibly glad he is on staff and making was was already good something great. Like someone said about, Brown is worth every penny he gets at Michigan.

All of my two year old's grandpas have big cop staches, so I taught him to do the Taylor Lewan finger stache every time he sees them. This has of course turned into him doing it to strangers in public. I wonder what Don Brown's reaction would be to this. My hope is that he'd call him a little dude.

but could you imagine being her date to Prom? I just imagine having to sit there akwardly while he sits still as a statue. The clock ticks as you begin to wonder if he's a wax replica. Sweat beads form on your forhead while time keeps passing. Finally, after a life time has passed, his moustasche twitches as he starts a full belly laugh. You laugh along with him, relieved, until he suddenly stops, leans forward and whispers, "I learned that in prison."

We lost The Game. But I heard Ohio parents tell their young QB's to go to sleep or else Don Brown's defense will break into the house and sack them.
