10/15/2018 - 8:28pm I'm just posting because I…

I'm just posting because I can't remember my last post and I want to see my posting history.

10/14/2018 - 5:05pm I actually watched a lot of…

I actually watched a lot of those games.  They absolutely have been very lucky in most of them.  Don't get me wrong, they facilitate their luck by being well prepared and have a way of staying in games they have no business being in.  But as improbable as it sounds, they have been the recipients of a lot of luck over the past 10 years.

That said, underestimate them at your own peril (these words are obviously meant for actual football players/coaches and not people on message boards).

10/14/2018 - 4:59pm My God, do you people have…

My God, do you people have fun moving the goal posts every time we do anything?

10/14/2018 - 11:04am Dwumfour played.  A lot.  He…

Dwumfour played.  A lot.  He was blowing through their OL quite a bit.

10/13/2018 - 11:24pm I disagree.  They actually…

I disagree.  They actually ran Evans on a couple of short yardage plays.  That doesn't give it away at all.

10/13/2018 - 5:47pm Along with everybody else…

Along with everybody else including Miami, the school he was committed to at the time.

10/13/2018 - 4:59pm You know what the really sad…

You know what the really sad part is?  This game closed out the "easy" part of their schedule.  They finish out their season vs. Northwestern, @ Wisconsin, vs. Michigan, vs. PSU and @ MSU.

10/13/2018 - 4:55pm Actually, as of today that's…

Actually, as of today that's 758 yards, 3 TDs and 15 INT.

10/13/2018 - 4:54pm Looked it up on ESPN. …

Looked it up on ESPN.  Sitkowski's was -37.  Rescigno's was -200.  I didn't even know that was possible.

10/12/2018 - 2:48pm Exactly.  So many people…

Exactly.  So many people seem to think great defense is giving up 0 yards and 0 points.  Every defense has a weakness.  It's a matter of choosing what you can live with and limiting the damage.

10/12/2018 - 2:46pm To be honest, the throw…

To be honest, the throw looked behind the receiver and definitely not a guaranteed gain by any means.  But had he caught it, there was nothing but green grass ahead of him.

10/11/2018 - 11:14am Yeah, that's what I've…

Yeah, that's what I've noticed as well.  My Northwestern alum friend kept commenting during that game that Shea had time to make a sandwich in the pocket.

10/09/2018 - 11:34am Also, how often do you see…

Also, how often do you see the backup QB come in and be awesome simply because the defense wasn't prepared for them?  Feels like a lot.

10/09/2018 - 7:44am I've never seen that. …

I've never seen that.  Probably my adblocker.  I'd suggest getting in one.

10/08/2018 - 2:52pm There is an exception for…

There is an exception for plays where there is a change in possession.  But in a normal, run-of-the-mill play with no turnover, offsetting penalties cannot be accepted or declined.  The down is just replayed.

10/08/2018 - 6:15am Nah, my guess is depth chart…

Nah, my guess is depth chart.  He has a much clearer path to playing time at Indiana.  Plus, Mike Hart's hanging out over there.

10/07/2018 - 2:15pm Ok.

Ok.

10/07/2018 - 1:33pm It's not an exception.  Once…

It's not an exception.  Once the offsetting penalties happen, the down never happened.  So there is nothing to decline.

https://www.ruletool.info/ncaa-rule-10-penalty-enforcement/

10/07/2018 - 12:54pm Not really.  As soon as…

Not really.  As soon as penalties on both teams are reported to the Referee, they offset and the down is replayed.  The penalties are neither accepted or declined because as soon as they both happen, they automatically offset.  Regardless of the outcome of the now non-existent play.

10/07/2018 - 12:13pm Throw 6 TDs a game and that…

Throw 6 TDs a game and that kind of shit happens.  He's also helped out by the fact that his WRs get a lot of YAC TDs as well.

10/07/2018 - 12:02pm I don't think anybody…

I don't think anybody screwed up.  The penalties were administered properly.  Some quick research tells me that any penalty can be declined but I don't know what that does in the case of the targeting ejection.  As well as the issue with the offsetting penalties.  Maybe someone with football officiating experience can clear that one up.

EDIT: Some more research tells me that offsetting penalties where there is no change of possession cannot be accepted or declined because they offset.  The down is automatically replayed from the previous spot.

10/07/2018 - 11:58am I don't actually know if you…

I don't actually know if you can decline a targeting penalty.  Given the nature of a targeting penalty (designed to protect players), I could imagine that it can't be declined.  Otherwise, I imagine the staff would have done so.  Harbaugh himself said that it was a weird situation where committing the penalty actually benefited Maryland in this particular case as the rule is read (offsetting live ball penalties lead to a replay of the dime from the previous spot).

10/07/2018 - 10:13am I like Victors Valiant…

I like Victors Valiant highlights alot because you can see the whole game flow.  But sometimes, I just want to see Michigan do awesome things.  And for that, Parkinggod highlights are the way to go.

10/07/2018 - 10:06am Where would a person find…

EDIT: Nevermind.

10/06/2018 - 5:58pm So does Minnesota really…

So does Minnesota really suck this year?

10/06/2018 - 4:42pm I feel like ABC could have…

I feel like ABC could have rolled back and showed us the pick 6.  That's my only complaint.

10/06/2018 - 4:39pm I enjoy fullbacks.  Yes, I…

I enjoy fullbacks.  Yes, I realize that this is extremely B1G of me.

10/06/2018 - 4:30pm The tradition of bullshit…

The tradition of bullshit holding calls against our running backs continues.

09/30/2018 - 12:42pm Will Fuller or Tyler Boyd…

Will Fuller or Tyler Boyd for my flex?  Currently starting Dalton at QB for reference.  standard scoring

09/30/2018 - 10:11am Honestly, in the first half…

Honestly, in the first half the main issue seemed to be that Shea didn't trust what he was seeing.  He had great protection for the most part (my Northwestern alumni friend was complaining that he had time to make a sandwich every snap).  He was just very hesitant to throw the ball when he had receivers open which was actually quite often.  He got over that in the 2nd half but he was still somewhat off with his throws early in the half.

09/29/2018 - 1:11pm So MSU and CMU are just…

So MSU and CMU are just having a 50 yard game of catch with each other, huh?

09/25/2018 - 7:44pm I'm curious as to why…

I'm curious as to why several seem to think it was planned?  Looked to me like he was just messing with his friend.  It all just seemed like a playful moment to me.

09/25/2018 - 3:15pm Well according to Tim Brando…

Well according to Tim Brando, Shea was smiling about it.  How do you do the embed thing?

EDIT:  Thanks.

09/22/2018 - 3:59pm Metellus was replaced by his…

Metellus was replaced by his evil twin Martellus who, in a strange twist for evil twins, committed no stupid penalties.

09/22/2018 - 3:34pm FULLBACK TOUCHDOWNS!!!

FULLBACK TOUCHDOWNS!!!

09/21/2018 - 4:59pm Soooo real posbang this time…

Soooo real posbang this time??!!

09/21/2018 - 4:56pm Well, mine have never worked…

Well, mine have never worked through all of those posts.  But they are now.  So *shrug*

09/21/2018 - 4:55pm Yep, just did the same…

Yep, just did the same experiment.

09/21/2018 - 4:53pm So should all the points…

So should all the points since the 3.0 launch now show on my account?  Or will they just start working from here on?

EDIT: Question answered.  Working from here on.

09/20/2018 - 1:31pm So I'm in tears at work…

So I'm in tears at work because of your Rutgers rant.  Thanks for that.

09/20/2018 - 8:45am *sigh* DPJ's 1st TD utilized…

*sigh* DPJ's 1st TD utilized Ambry Thomas in a jet sweep motion as a decoy.

09/20/2018 - 6:07am Well they used up an obvious…

Well they used up an obvious change up  with the wide open play action pass to DPJ for the 35 yard catch and run td. I loved that play but was pissed that they had to use it against SMU.

I love that everyone's complaining that Harbaugh's playcalling isn't creative enough for them  and then when he does get creative (which he does quite often in fact), it's "why isn't he saving this?"

09/17/2018 - 7:13pm I park in the Ann Ashley…

I park in the Ann Ashley structure whenever I go to the game and just walk up main street to the Stadium.  I pass all the shops and everything plus it's only $3.

09/17/2018 - 7:08pm But it was actually for a…

But it was actually fine for a while.  The Hydration Stations provided free water up until 2(??) years ago.  Then, they apparently decided that global warming meant that they could start gouging people for bottled water.

EDIT:  Apparently, some of those stations are still free.  I've just been going to the wrong ones.

09/17/2018 - 3:38pm I'll be honest.  As a…

I'll be honest.  As a football fan, I much prefer sitting on my own couch, eating and drinking when I want to without waiting in line, and checking in on other games during the seemingly endless media timeouts.  But this has been true since I graduated.  Once I was no longer on campus, getting into Ann Arbor and then back out of Ann Arbor was a nightmare I decided to only experience once a year.  And I've managed to do that.  Each year, I pick a home game and go for the experience.  Because as a Michigan fan, there's nothing quite like being in the Big House watching Michigan football.

Yes, it was hot this weekend and I had to pay $4.50 for a bottle of water (Why is the Hydration Station no longer free?), and I had to sit through whatever that Vote Now halftime show was.  But during the moments of actual football happening, there's nothing better in the world. But yeah, the "noise" surrounding the game is starting to get to be more and more of a hassle.

09/17/2018 - 11:18am Because fair catches don't…

Because fair catches don't make Sportscenter.

09/13/2018 - 12:43pm Does anybody else kind of…

Does anybody else kind of want to wrap Ben Hicks up in bubble wrap right now?

09/13/2018 - 10:38am The problem with…

The problem with experimentation on the offensive line is the position where cohesion and communication are most important.  It's the ultimate group think position.  They all have to know where the others are and what they're thinking on each play.  Rotating guys in doesn't actually help the OL and might be detrimental to it's growth and progress.  You want to find your OL and then keep it constant.

09/12/2018 - 3:31pm Fixed.  Thank you.

Fixed.  Thank you.

09/12/2018 - 3:18pm “But the next guys in at a…

“But the next guys in at a lot of positions are young. We’ll just bring them along at the right pace. If you put a young guy in there before he’s ready, you could ruin him, really set him back. If you bring him along at a pace he can handle, then you’ve got something for a long time.”

This is the part a lot of fans clamoring for Mayfield and Hudson to start right now don't seem to understand.  You can't just throw them into the fire before they're ready just because their ceiling is higher. It would do them more harm than good and it most likely won't yield the results you're demanding anyway.
